Dutch Muslim Site Spoofs Hirsi Ali's DeathWww.elqalem.nl is a website by and for young Dutch muslims. It bills itself as a "completely neutral information platform." The editors say the site should be considered a "part of the neutral, informative news media."
There is no shortage of articles on El-Qalem that put that assertion to the test, however....
There is a sarcastic screed called "The Ayaan Manifesto," announcing the death of Ayaan Hirsi Ali.... It was written by Moroccan-born editor Mohammed Jabri. Jabri says Hirsi Ali died in a car bomb attack, and he asks her, in an article that goes from macabre obituary to open letter, "Don't you think it's weird that you kicked the bucket exactly one month after Theo van Gogh's murder?" He mentions the film "Submission" that Hirsi Ali made with van Gogh (it condemns traditional Islam's treatment of women as property); in a humorously-intended aside, Jabri says that he has begun beating his sisters "because otherwise the movie would have missed its mark."
The part about Hirsi Ali's violent death, at least, is a spoof: the politician has so far managed to stay alive despite multiple death threats (though she has apparently had to flee the country, and has not been seen in public for almost two months). Lest anyone thinks that the "Ayaan Manifesto" is itself a death threat — albeit one that's worded cunningly enough to escape legal culpability — the editorial team of El-Qalem claims otherwise.
We do not wish her dead. We do wish she'll become a good muslim and will start to cover her head with a hijab. We also wish that Geert Wilders [right-wing politician and Islam critic] will become a good muslim, and will grow a beard. And we wish that Rita Verdonk would begin wearing a burqa, so we'll no longer have to see her ugly mug.Jabri (who is also on the record as saying that gay people may be thrown off the roofs of high buildings) is thinking about starting an Islamic political party. By all accounts, he's already a busy man, what with his day job at the Dutch Department of Social Affairs, a government body.
"Throwing Gay people off roofs of High Buildings", Verdunk should wear a burka to conceal her "Ugly mug" and this gem:
With hand outstretched, she approached one of our imams, who correctly said she should keep her fat sausage fingers to herself.... This persona non grata should have heeded the Prophet Mohammed's words: "It is better to stab an iron pin through the head than to touch a woman who is neither your wife nor a close relative."
These quotes convince me there is excellent comedic quality enough to scribe a new TV sitcom, something like "All in the Family", only with Moslem characters.

In re-reading the post realize that I somehow got absorbed in the slapstick mentality of the comments at that site and overlooked the mention of the murder of Hirsi Ali. I by no means think murder is something that should be made light of at all and do not wish to give that impression.
I was attempting to highligh the mentality demonstrated there, which reveals immaturity and a desensitation to violence, which many people are experiencing as one act of Islamic barbarity is outdone by another. It seems that we are now accustomed to any act of violence by Islamists, some which are so depraved and so evil and yet they no longer have the power to shock us anymore.

I want to make a small note concerning the Elqalam website. A friend of mine knows one of the webmasters of that website and asked him for their intentions. The story is that not all of them are radical Muslims, but some try to debate things in the Quran and such. But the important thing is they were sadly surprised they didn't get a lot of critics from moderate Muslims! So, I am not sure if all the people on the Elqalam website are as radical as they seem, though not many Muslims seem to bother what they say.

I’ve read the posts asking for Jihadwatch readers to provide ideas for what we might do to help spread the word. From what I’ve seen so far, there are some great ideas and you have my complete support. I would suggest though that we’d be remiss in our efforts if first we didn’t recognize and show our tangible support and appreciation to Robert and Hugh for running the Jihadwatch site. They’re providing a great service and doing outstanding work--I think we should do what we can to help them continue that work.

Why don't European media, major politicals figures, women's groups, civil right advocates, come to the aid of Ayaan Hirsi Ali? If there were forceful, public declaration of support for her and commitments to her defense, would 'moderate' Muslims dare to speak like this?
And, of course, El-Qalem does want her dead; they are lying. But, why won't Europeans fight harder to keep this magnificient, courageous woman alive?
As the late friend and colleague of Hirsi Ali, Theo Van Gogh, would have said:

Their leaders are thieves and maniacs.

Only a carnage in the West, equal to the Tsunami, from these cretinous cannibals will wake the majority from their kumbaya daydreams.
