There is no Muslim contribution to the American polity, not to the entire edifice of the American political system. The Shari'a flatly contradicts, in every way, the American Constitution. A comment on Hugh's traditionally excellent piece: it is NOT only weapons technology that islam and some muslims accept. There is an acceptance, it seems to me, of other brands of technology, the same as in the West, where they don't conflict with sharia or the Quran. In example:
I saw recently on one site a number of muslims (or so they said, anyway) debating the shape of the earth. One hadith or Sura or tradition (can't remember which, so don't ask me) specifies that the shape of the earth is egg-shaped, and not slightly, but a lot. Well, someone posted a picture of the Earth taken from space, a shape showing how the Earth is really incredibly round. (This likely won't come as much of a shock to anyone here.) There was quite a bit of consternation at this, and the author of the post eventually suggested that it had been, somehow, altered. How, one might have asked? Simple: PhotoShop. The general consensus was that this must have been so. Someone else asked why in the world someone would have done so, and the answer was: "I don't know, but ultimately I believe in science except where it conflicts with the Quran, because that's the 'real' truth." So someone used technology to launch a ship into orbit, used technology to take a picture of the Earth, used technology to land and load it onto a computer and then - this being the hilarious part - must have used technology to alter the picture in order to defame Allah in some obscure way.
Technology of all kinds is greeted by islam - but always, as always, for the benefit of this 'Allah' and his religion. The same goes, I would imagine, for that associated with agriculture, genetics, and the like - acceptable, but not contradictive.

I did't say everything in the Hadith is true. I said "most." There are a lot of silly lies in it. For example Allah or the angel Gabriel never told him anything. Muhammad just made everything up and then went and said that Allah told him things. So the whole of Islam is a hoax.
The part about call to jihad terrorism and Muhammad's mass murders and rapes and raids are reliable and can be trusted. The Qur'an also confirms these and is in agreemnet with what was written in the Hadith.
Just because the Hadith were written 200 years later doesn't mean it is false. They were carefully researched by devout Muslims who went around the Islamic world to interview other devout Muslims. Those devout Muslims wouldn't lie.

I heard the Jihadist mutants saying Allah Akbar quite a few times as they sliced and hacked at the head. What I saw (Orgish) must have been cut off since I did not see the victims reading statements.
Can America clearly define and defend its foundations, the roots of its religious values, its constitutional values, or might it acquisce to its Islamic protaganists who share nothing that resembles what has made America great and so strong over a mere 200 years, why the Islamic world has collapsed under the weight of its own flawed Ideology.
The Quran and the hadith wreak with tenants that give power to demogogues ,despots, and dictators. It is a religion that raced across the land not out of the desire to embrace its tenants, but thru force and fear for nearly 14 hundred years .
Descent and caring Americans can understand why the most precious thing we can protect is our freedom, freedom from tyranny and oppression. Those Americans` cannot drive past those military cemetaries that contain white crosses with too many to count, and sometimes to far to see to the end of them. They will give pause and thought as to all the young men who lie under those white crosses who died in the defence of freedom before they could even begin to experience the life of being an adult, they will pause and humble themselves to the freedom that they and their children are able to enjoy because of those who sacrificed before them. It is my opinion that everyone 18 years and older in the Western world should have to watch 3 of these beheadings. Most have only heard of them and not actually seen them.
If they see what these animals actually do to other human beings and hear the victims gurgle and choke out their last breaths, then we will have a very solid backing indeed. It becomes intensely personal when you see and hear this horror.

Herein lies a serious part of the problem we Americans are facing. Those foundations and values are not being taught in schools. Sadly, many of those values (especially the religious and moral ones) are ridiculed, prohibited, and litigated against. American History is not being properly taught or emphasized. We have several generations of children, teenagers, and young adults who know little, if anything, about the Foundations of this great nation of ours. I dare say there are some who know more about the "public face of Islam" than about the tenets of our constitutional republic.
I watched one beheading and never want to see another. The only way I can explain what these monsters do is that they have to be demon possessed. I know some will snicker at that statement, but look at the eyes of Zarquai (sp)-pure evil. Those who don't believe in such terms can surely believe in searing over of the conscience. I can only imagine what kind of dreams these pigs have.

There have been several comments about the terrorists being "demon-possessed."
To call them "demon-possessed" grants them innocence of the nature of their actions, much the way the psychotic killers in our society are granted a certain level of clemency in our courts.

I've watched the jihadis doing Allah's work on Ogrish for close to a year now. To regain my sanity I go to Goolge: Images: Dead Jihadists. But what really makes the difference is coming to Jihadwatch to read Spencer and Hugh and the commentators here who have something to say that goes beyond demands for revenge.
The thrust for educating the public that is the principle reason for the existence of Jihadwatch, rather than the education one gets from Ogrish in the ugliness of Humanity at its worst, is what brings me daily here. There's nothing I can gain from watching another man die at the hands of Moslem terrorists. I can stll learn a great deal from reading Jihadwatch. The question is how do we take the message to the public to inform them of what we all take for granted. Stills from Ogrish won't cut it. We have to put out the word and the picture of Islam in action, but how do we do so without pitching the audience into a state of revulsion and aversion to the realities of Islam to the point they won't even look at our message?
The compromise of graphic but subdued depictions of murder with canonical quotations of Islamic texts in the form of hand-outs to the public is the best idea I can come up with. Few people will put up with Ogrish, though if they would they'd come away thinking less highly of Islam than they seem to today. We have to educate the public in a ripple-effect. We can't toss people into the pool of horror that Ogrish has made, but we can give the public at least a toned-down version of it.
If one were to pass out a leaflet showing a woman being hanged by Moslems, accompanied with quotations from the Koran, for doing that one might well be arrested in Britain or Australia. Where do we draw the line between being involved in public education and going to jail on behalf of the public good? As the trickle of isolated incidents becomes a torrent of isolated incidents, how far do we go in exposing them as the natural course of Islam itself? What happens if we go to jail for leafleting?

There are Christian, Mormon, Jehova Witness leaflets distributed all over the place and it's not illegal or hate speech. You find them on trains, buses, public restrooms, gas stations, convenience stores, etc. Maybe little leaflets with mo's pearls of hatred, murder, plunder, rape, pedophelia is all it would take to wake up those who are still oblivious to islam. I think the verses referring to Jews and Christians as the sons of monkeys and pigs might tend to have an effect.

Just last November a failed beheading happened in Windsor Ontario canada,the media coverage was only local and I'm guessing the Theo Van Gogh slaughter had something to do with a fear to publish anything that might set-off

In Canada recently a teen-aged boy hit another on the side of the head with a pool ball in the toe of a sock. Boy one got one night in jail for killing boy two. Granted, a 17 year old is not an adult, and perhaps there really are too many people in jails in Canada, though one would have to wonder when the local paper claims that one in seven pot growers in the province of British Columbia goes to jail, but only one in 13goes to jail if captured in Vancouver.
So what is crime in a plaace like this? Linda, passing out leaflets or post-it notes with quotations from the Koran is likely to land you in jail. Steal everything you can to support a drug habit, grow millions of dollars in pot in government mortgage financed houses, even beat a guy to death and nothing comes of it. In fact, blow up a plane with hundreds of passengers and you'll live your life in freedom and ease. There's no compromise possible here because the terror is wide and deep, and anything that can be conjectured as hate will be so, and there's no grey ara of photos or simple text to protect you. In Canada you will likely go to jail for so much as speaking your mind on the nature of Islam while sitting in a pub. That's the point I make here.
The point Wrecker makes is that there's not much difference legally between smashing and ripping and simply speaking out. We'll find ourselves in positions of urban guerrilla warfare in time because legitimate dissent is nearly impossible legally. Those who can't speak will sneak.
