Form Pits Texas Christians Against Muslims

Another story about the TAPP controversy. From Fox, with thanks to DC Watson:

HOUSTON — An application form to join a parochial schools group that was sent to Texas Islamic schools has created misunderstanding and anger between local Muslims and Christians.

The Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools, which is 90 percent Christian, sent 10 questions to the Dar-ul-Arqam school in Houston after the group applied to join the association.

The Islamic Society of Greater Houston, which runs Dar-ul-Arqam schools at three locations, wanted students to be able to compete with other parochial schools in extracurricular events.

One question that upset Dar-ul-Arqam administrators focused on perceived intolerance: "The Koran clearly tells you not to mix with (and even eliminate) the infidels. Christians and Jews fall into this category. Why do you wish to join an organization whose membership is basically in total disagreement with your religious beliefs?"

Iesa Galloway, Houston Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations said the questionnaire was "rooted in deep-seeded ignorance of the religion of Islam and the Muslim people."

Well, the Qur'an does say those things. See 5:51, 3:28, and 9:29. How exactly is it a manifestation of "deep-seeded" ignorance to ask how Muslims understand such verses?

But the outcry over the form has surprised the parochial association's president.

"If there was anything offensive in the letter," said TAPPS President Edd Burleson, "that should have been addressed to us so that we'd have the opportunity to clarify and make sure that everyone understood there was no animosity."

The Dar-ul-Arqam school group is now drafting a letter of its own to respond to the questions.

I look forward to seeing that.

Actually, the form was deficient. It should have asked the Muslim what he thought of all 164 Jihad verses in the Koran:

"rooted in deep-seeded ignorance of the religion of Islam and the Muslim people."

Not so sorry to disagree, but with hundreds of years of "friction" between Islam and any other religion, as well as a deeply rooted intolerance on the muslim part for any of those faiths, I'd say the form was rooted in a deeper understanding of the Muslim documents than they want the area residents to have. Gets in the way of successful taqqiya, for one thing.

I hope these people stick to their guns and keep demanding answers from the muslims - let 'em either refute their own ancient texts, or admit the truth for once.

It is a private organization, they should have the right to ask what they want. The use of the media is a very clever move on the part of the Muslim school, though.

..."rooted in deep-seeded ignorance of the religion of Islam and the Muslim people."...?

I believe the term is "deep-seated". Nice to have an Executive Director who uses mixed adjectives. Talk about ignorance.

They now make many loud noises to distract and dissuade the attention this has garnered. How they hate it when truth is outed.
They know they cannot bear the light of the sun on their cult of darkness and death, it withers them away.

They belong to a religion that clearly states they are not to associate with Jews and Christians, even killing them. Yet when questioned on this belief, they have the nerve to cry out and play the victim? How dare they! If addressing text found within the Koran is "rooted in deep seeded ignorance," then it is worthy of examining the deep seeded ignorance within Islam towards those faiths. For example, Turkey was 30% Christian 100 years ago, and today is less than one percent. That is because they do practice what they preach. The Jews and Christians are the ones who should be offended as they are clearly marked for death. And has anyone EVER stopped to ask why their belief system doesn't fall into the category of a hate group? Islam through its teaching killed more people on American soil than the Japanese Imperial Army, yet when visiting Tolerance.org, one finds listing for the KKK, Nazi groups, Skinheads, Christian identity groups and even an anti immigration website because they use the word "wettie." Yet not a single Mosque or Islamic Organization is listed. I think it is time to ask why Islam with such hate is not a hate group? September 11th was the largest hate crime in American history and the answers as to why are found in those passages in the Koran. This religion is not compatible with the west, with freedom, with Christians and Jews and it needs to be exposed as the hate group that it is.

" Yet not a single Mosque or Islamic Organization is listed."

Good point, AugerDigs!

The statement from CAIR, is typical of moslems all over the world when confronted with the truth about their book that they don't want us, infidels, to know. They either make a sweeping accusation, like mis-interpretation of the texts, Islamophobia, or in this case deep seated ignorance, yet they never refute the text themselves.

The muslims love the word *ignorant*.

"The Koran clearly tells you not to mix with (and even eliminate) the infidels. Christians and Jews fall into this category. Why do you wish to join an organization whose membership is basically in total disagreement with your religious beliefs?"

This really make me LOL. Somebody buy that man a drink! I wish they would make a similar question on government forms when Muslims apply for European or US visas. They could substitute "join an organization..." for "live in our country?"
