In Onward Muslim Soldiers I discuss the phenomenon of jihad fighters traveling from one country to another to fight in the latest jihad. It appears from this New York Times story, "The Next Islamist Revolution?" (thanks to Nicolei), that the latest stop is Bangladesh.
Last spring, Bangla Bhai, whose followers probably number around 10,000, decided to try an Islamist revolution in several provinces of Bangladesh that border on India. His name means ''Bangladeshi brother.'' (At one point he said his real name was Azizur Rahman and more recently claimed it was Siddiqul Islam.) He has said that he acquired this nom de guerre while waging jihad in Afghanistan and that he was now going to bring about the Talibanization of his part of Bangladesh. Men were to grow beards, women to wear burkas. This was all rather new to the area, which was religiously diverse. But Jagrata Muslim Janata Bangladesh, as Bangla Bhai's group is called (the name means Awakened Muslim Masses of Bangladesh), was determined and violent and seemed to have enough lightly armed adherents to make its rule stick.
Whereas jihadi base are something new as Pakistani ISI is shifting their focus from Kashmir to North-east of India;reason-Kashmir is on spotlight and Pakistan,as a country, has one objective in its political lifeblood to make the whole Indian sub-continent Dar-Ul-Islam (for Muslims it was conveniently so before the Brits colonized it 250 years ago and Muslims can't forget it as Osama can't forget Ottoman empire; the name Hindu coined in around 16th century when all followers of Indian religion came under Jizya by theocratic Mogul Muslim rulers) which at present is Dar-Ul-Harb. Present day Bangladesh which chose its Islamic identity in 1947(it remained with Pakistan). A little more about the non-violence of Gandhi-he certainly could stop Hindus from rioting-of the millions killed in riots 85% were Hindus and Sikhs when British India became independent as two parts-India and Pakistan. Since then Hindus in Bangladesh (then East Pakistan and a secular(!) Bangladesh in 1971) became vulnerable in the eyes of Muslims and targeted to be preyed upon as and when necessary.

Swami Vivekananda (the person who preached Vedanta philosophy-rightfully the religion of this century-which does not discriminate between souls and asserts oneself to be one's own God when one knows about oneself) or recent day Amartya Sen (Nobel laureate in Economics-who unfortunately is a dhimmi).

One can see, at certain websites, pictures of a Hindu who, having made the mistake of walking near a mosque in Bangladesh recently as Friday Prayers were ending, was beaten to death by a Muslim mob -- a mob enthused, no doubt, by whatever stirring khutba it had just heard.
During the 1971 war, the collaborationist element in East Pakistan, that murdered not only local Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians, but also Muslims who wanted indendence, were the razakars. If islams destruction halts your progress but the pains suffered at the hands of muslom extremists.
I am hoping you are on our side and the atrocities committed by jihadist in the name of anything is not natural and bourne of the devil himself.

It took me full five minutes what you meant-I certainly do not wish you to suffer like us. We suffered for so many centuries most of us don't believe in ourselves and think we can create a successful defence against Islam in our part of the world. It is a sheer genius and the mildness of Hindus(you may disagree) that Hindus still are a great number in India but their voice is lost in mainstream Indian and International media .
The riots of the Hindus in 2002 in Gujarat, India is the natural reaction of pent up anger among Hindus for generations and it is one of the very few times when politicians didn't restrain the Hindus in the name of Gandhian non-violence. We are certainly the ally of the West in the fight against Islam.
The fact is the number of Hindu refugees from the geographical part of present day Bangladesh in last 60 years is 30 million. It is one of the biggest mass exodus in the world history-of course we could never effectively fight back and assert ourselves as Hindus rather than the national identity of Bengali(which includes Bengali Muslims too). There are so many Christians among Arabs, right!
Ofcourse any Muslim would play the red herring game whatever I said. Because of this denial game you don't see any Hindu(1 - 2 %) in Pakistan today. Hindus used to be 18% in Pakistan in 1947. British India became India and Pakistan in 1947 with Hindus in India and Muslims in Pakistan(East and West Pakistan; East Pakistan became Bangladesh in 1971). After 60 years there is almost or minimal presence of Hindus in both the Pakistans and Muslim population in India is only increasing.
We are fighting the same enemy. But it pains me when President Bush, after 3 years of 9/11 still only mentions Abrahamic faiths in most of his speeches. If keeping the evangelical activity in India at bay we are counted as ally we can still make Islam non-existent from the face of earth.

You are certainly a welcome ally. Too few people realize that Muslims want all non-Muslims out of any lands where they grow to a majority. The blind non-Muslim world accepts this, but screams, "ethnic cleansing!" when any attempt is made to keep Muslims from becoming the majority in non-Muslim lands.
G.W. Bush made a big mistake (on purpose) when he included the Koran as an "Abrahamic faith" in his inaugral address. His motives are not clear but we can guess at them.
As to what can be done in Bangladesh? Not much, as "ethnic containment" is still unacceptable in the non-Muslim world.
The radicalization of Bangladesh is not surprising and could be predicted by one seminal event: Saudi funding of madrassas.

I thought that was where you were going, my Prayers to you and yours.
Becoming knowlegable in the last 3 years of Islam I will admit to being ignorant of the things going on till NOW.
I do not think I would have believed some of the horrors before, now knowing it shames me to think of the Atrocities commited to you and yours every day.
