AMSTERDAM — Dutch MP Ayaan Hirsi Ali is returning to Parliament on Tuesday, ending an absence of several months following death threats levelled against her after the November murder of filmmaker Theo van Gogh.Soon after the brutal killing it was discovered that Islamic extremists were planning to murder Hirsi Ali. She was then flown by the Dutch military from the airbase Valkenburg on 10 November to the US base Brunswick in the state of Maine.
The two terrorist suspects arrested after a 14-hour stand-off in The Hague on 10 November are accused of planning the Somali-born MP's murder. It has since been revealed that the murder was planned for New Year's Eve, when fireworks would disguise the sound of shooting.
Hirsi Ali is known for her strong criticism of the Islamic faith, having previously called the prophet Mohammed a pervert by modern standards for taking a child bride. She also co-wrote with Van Gogh the film Submission, which took a critical look at domestic violence in Islam.
Her return to parliament — which coincides with the return of MPs from the Christmas recess — is expected to attract a lot of media attention. A press conference at 4pm will be broadcast live on Dutch public radio and television, while journalists from France, Germany and Britain will also attend.
Moreover, Hirsi Ali is also is expected to meet with Lower House chairman Frans Weisglas and be officially reunited with her Liberal VVD colleagues.
In a world where Muslim murder-plotters are allowed to operate freely (unless they are caught actually breaking a law) the courage of this fine woman cannot be praised too highly.
Contrast her bravery with the cowardice of the Islamic clerics inciting the "faithful" to commit murder and mayhem from the safety of their mosques in Islamic lands.
So much for freedom of speech in the West. Only Muslims have freedom of speech now. Which, of course, is how Muslims think it should be.
When will the mainstream media do a story one tenth as critical of Islam as they are of George Bush's Christianity?
I'm not holding my breath. But media's inability to summon up one bit of courage or virtue makes Jihad Watch and Dhimmi Watch a priceless resource. Other than the Telegraph UK I can't think of one newspaper with even the beginning of a spine.
The Dutch are paying for their tolerance. An MP from Holland was on John Kasich's Heartland show on Fox Saturday nite describing their problems. Hope they get it under control.
The Dutch are a strong and pragmatic people, when pushed. They are being pushed hard.
Let's hope they protect Hirsi Ali as an emblem of what a good immigrant can be: an example of the best of the culture they enter into.
As the Scandinavian leader during WW II, who, when the Nazis insisted that all Jews in the country should wear a 'Star of David', said: "I will be the first to wear it proudly.", the Dutch should start wearing armbands with her name on it in solidarity against the maniacs threatening their land.
They need more people like her.
And not the Sharia-intoxicated 'cuckoo's eggs' placed to supplant and destroy their host.
Don't get your hopes up, the majority of the people supporting the party she's in (VVD) don't like her at all. In fact, more and more colleagues of her want her to shut up. They say she's not much of a liberal. The party leader said today that he believes they should not interfere with someone's religion and only deal with 'fringe' elements. Yeah, like Jihad and oppression of women are 'fringe' elements of Islam. I'm pretty sure she will be kicked out of the party, just like Wilders (the one who was on that Heartland show).
In other Dutch news, this week an Iraqi girl was killed by her brother because she gave birth to a child out of wedlock. Another man was beaten to death by Moroccons for telling them to stop harassing some girls. While the victim was dying on the street other Moroccons shouted 'die already'.
The fact that the Dutch kept their cool and didn't do anything after Van Gogh was murdered is not a good sign. An Iranian dissident recently said he now understands how the Nazi's were able to take over the country.

AMSTERDAM — MP Ayaan Hirsi Ali returned to the Dutch Parliament on Tuesday, declaring under intense media scrutiny that she intended to continue her fight against Islamic extremism despite repeated death threats.
She appeared in the Lower House shortly after 2pm for her first Question Time since she went into hiding some two months ago after the brutal murder of filmmaker Theo van Gogh. The Somali-born MP was hotly followed by Dutch and foreign media journalists and camera crews.
Hirsi Ali was also escorted into the parliament chamber by a horde of protection officers from the Royal and Diplomatic Security Service, and several bodyguards from a private security company.
Lower House chairman Frans Weisglas welcomed Hirsi Ali back prior to the start of the parliament's first question hour after the end of the Christmas recess. "Dear Ayaan, welcome back among us. We have missed you," he said.
Weisglas also said he hoped that Hirsi Ali — who moves on a daily basis from safe house to safe house — can soon resume her normal work outside of the parliament. "We hope to soon hear your voice here in the House again," he said, to loud applause from the public tribune.
The Liberal VVD had earlier arrived at the parliament in an armoured Mercedes just before 9.30am on Tuesday, proceeding immediately to a meeting with Weisglas and VVD parliamentary leader Jozias van Aartsen. She then attended her first party meeting since Van Gogh's death.
Hirsi Ali said she was pleased to be back and Van Aartsen said her return represented a joyful and fantastic day.

The film is believed to be the prime motivation behind Van Gogh's murder and a note left plunged into the filmmaker's body with a knife warned that Hirsi Ali was next.
But speaking at a press conference at about 4pm, Hirsi Ali said she had discussed at length with Van Gogh the possible dangers of making the film. She also said it was terrible that others had resorted to violence.
Nevertheless, Hirsi Ali also declared to the world that she would continue with her fight against the radical side to the Islamic faith: "Ladies and gentlemen, I will continue".

admire her courage. If only other Politicians would tell the truth about Islam and have her courage to confront the problem instead of showing cowardly appeasement...
Hirsi Ali, one of my hero's. This woman has more cajones, than most men (on top of which she is very attractive).
Too bad our President, Senators and Congressmen don't have the huevos she has, then again she isn't bought and paid for, by Muslim votes and Saudi Oil money.
I hope she has secret service protection, or whatever they call it in the Netherlands I would hate that she gets the van Goegh treatment.

A British friend tells me that Honor killings are not reported, that Pakistani gangs rape young girls, Abuse of Muslim women by Muslim men is ignored, and the same in France.
In France police are afraid to go into Muslim enclaves, and protests about abuse by Muslim women are ignored.
You should see this documentary Home Sweet Home it doesn't pull back, in Denmark the population will be replaced in two generations, and Germany is a hot bed of Islamofascists, they have their own communities where a person can be born, work and die, without ever learning German.

I will remind you Giaour that America is a Republic, we are a land governed by laws, as much as you would like to believe that America with a Republican in the White House somehow turns into an instant dictatorship, it does not. What protects these Moslems are the same laws that protect you. You also seem to forget that America has 3 branches of government, not one!
