Indonesia: Bomb threats at UK and Thai embassies

Oh, and thanks for the tsunami aid. From AP, with thanks to Kemaste:

Britain's embassy in Indonesia remained closed Friday morning following an anonymous bomb threat against the diplomatic post and the nearby Thai embassy.

Police stepped up security around the embassies, which are in the same neighborhood of the capital, Jakarta.

A police officer who declined to be named said the source of the bomb threats said the embassies would be targeted at 10 p.m. Thursday or 10 a.m. Friday. Both deadlines passed without any explosion.

The British Foreign Office said services at the embassy would remain suspended while officials monitor the security situation in the Indonesian capital.

"Obviously the safety of staff and visitors is paramount," it said in a statement. "The closure will not have a detrimental effect on the relief operations in Aceh following the tsunami of 26 December."

Only slightly OT, but is there anyone else out there who wonders if Muslims in the tsunami-devastated regions will be enraged by the allegations that the disaster was their just due for allowing infidels in their midst to engage in non-Islamic behaviour? (i.e.: they were deserving of Allah's wrath)

I repeat once again, until Indonesian muslims start showing a little appreciation for our help, instead of behaving like brain-damaged baboons, we should leave them to help themselves.... and see how far they get.

My local media has covered complaints by Somali's that the West isn't showing the same concern as the Tsunami victims, hey,I thought of sending aid to Somalia but I can't get that image out of my head where savage animals dragged a dead corpse through the streets.
If I remember correctly the victim was there to help Somali's and in return they gave a safe haven to Islamists and joined in the parading of the dead body for all to see.

I'm not that stupid that I'd be fooled into another Muslim scam of crying for help while
holding a RPC behind their back,Canada has taken in thousands of Somali's as refugees and that included the wife of a warlord and her children
that lived on welfare. I've done my part and if it's not good enough then I'll mail a quarter to
them and they can phone someone that "Gives a sh*t".

The anti-islamist PDF files are now available for downloading at http://www.6thcolumnagainstjihad.com/graphics.htm (notice no "L" after htm)...

Several are there now, and as more files become available, they will be posted for you to download.

PLEASE go to this link, download the PDFs, and send copies to everyone you can. One picture can speak a thousand words, and these graphics make it quite easy to begin telling the story that must be told!

Well put! I echo that sentiment.

Thanks for the link.

Great work. I'll spread the news like unsalted butter on a warm croissant.

(I love croissants. Especially their historical meaning.)

Much obliged!

P.S.

I advise NO retaliatory nuisance bomb threats against the embassies of all Muslim nations involved in spreading jihadist terror. That would be wrong. Just wrong...

WE MUST ALL CONTACT FOX AND PROTEST THIS....!!!!

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 1/14/05) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today said that it is encouraged by a recent meeting in Los Angeles with representatives of the Fox television network to discuss Muslim concerns about the drama series "24." SEE: http://www.fox.com/24/

CAIR called for Wednesday's meeting to address the depiction of a "Muslim" family that is at the heart of a terror plot in the popular program. The Washington-based Islamic civil rights and advocacy group is concerned that the portrayal of the family as a terrorist "sleeper cell" may cast a shadow of suspicion over ordinary American Muslims and could increase Islamophobic stereotyping and bias.

At the meeting, which included representatives from CAIR's Southern California office and from the Los Angeles-based Muslim Public Affairs Council, Fox officials said they would distribute a CAIR public service announcement (PSA) to network affiliates and ask that it be aired in proximity to "24."

FOX also gave meeting participants assurances that the program will be balanced in its portrayal of Muslims. Network representatives said that they had already reviewed existing episodes and removed some aspects that could potentially be viewed as stereotypical.

"We thank Fox for the opportunity to address the Muslim community's concerns and for the willingness of network officials to take those concerns seriously in an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation," said CAIR Communications Coordinator Rabiah Ahmed. She added that CAIR looks forward to working with Fox in the future.

CAIR, America's largest Muslim advocacy group, has 30 offices and chapters nationwide and in Canada. Its mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.

CAIR presses Fox TV
on Muslim terrorists

Fox television bucked current media convention by portraying terrorists as Muslims in its drama series "24 ," but a controversial Islamic lobby group that complained about the show now says it is "encouraged" after meeting with network officials and winning concessions and assurances.

Fox spokesman Scott Grogin told WorldNetDaily today the network has agreed to the Council on American-Islamic Relations' request to distribute a CAIR public service announcement to network affiliates.

But when asked to comment on CAIR's claim that network officials assured the Muslim group they had already removed some aspects of existing episodes "that could potentially be viewed as stereotypical," Grogin refused to comment.

Grogin, who was at the meeting, said he had nothing to say aside from stating, "We met with representatives from CAIR on Wednesday and had a very informative and productive meeting, and we look forward to working with them in the future."

However, he corrected CAIR's statement that Fox agreed to ask affiliates that the PSA "be aired in proximity to '24.'"

Grogin said Fox only agreed to distribute the PSA to affiliates and will make no request as to when, "or even if," it is to air.

CAIR said it called for the meeting Wednesday -- which included representatives from CAIR's Southern California office and from the Los Angeles-based Muslim Public Affairs Council -- to "address the depiction of a 'Muslim' family that is at the heart of a terror plot in the popular program."

The Washington, D.C.-based group said it was concerned that the portrayal of the family as a terrorist "sleeper cell" may "cast a shadow of suspicion over ordinary American Muslims and could increase Islamophobic stereotyping and bias."

CAIR's statement today said that in addition to distribution of the PSAs, "FOX also gave meeting participants assurances that the program will be balanced in its portrayal of Muslims. Network representatives said that they had already reviewed existing episodes and removed some aspects that could potentially be viewed as stereotypical."

"We thank Fox for the opportunity to address the Muslim community's concerns and for the willingness of network officials to take those concerns seriously in an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation," said CAIR Communications Coordinator Rabiah Ahmed.

The show, which has a story line that runs the entire season, is based on 24 hours at a counter-terrorism unit.

In its fourth season, this year's story centers on a terrorist sleeper cell planning an attack on the United States.

CAIR is a spin-off of the Islamic Association For Palestine, a group identified by two former FBI counter-terrorism chiefs as a U.S. front group for the terrorist group Hamas.

Since 9-11, CAIR has seen three of its former employees indicted on federal terrorism charges.

Randall Todd "Ismail" Royer was sentenced to 20 years in prison on charges he trained in Virginia for holy war against the United States and sent several members to Pakistan to join Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Kashmiri terrorist group with reported ties to al-Qaida.

In a plea bargain, Royer claimed he never intended to hurt anyone but admitted he organized the holy warriors after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the U.S.

After his arrest, Royer sought legal counsel from Hamas lawyer Stanley Cohen, who said after 9-11 he would consider serving as a defense lawyer for Osama bin Laden if the al-Qaida leader were captured.

Another CAIR figure, Bassem Khafagi, was arrested in January 2003 while serving as the group's director of community relations. The previous December, Ghassan Elashi, the founder of CAIR's Texas chapter, was indicted for financial ties to Hamas leader Musa Abu Marzook.

Current CAIR leaders also have made statements in support of Hamas and the domination of the U.S. by Islam.

As WorldNetDaily reported, CAIR's chairman of the board, Omar Ahmad, was cited by a California newspaper in 1998 declaring the Quran should be America's highest authority.

He also was reported to have said Islam is not in America to be equal to any other religion but to be dominant.

Art Moore is a news editor with WorldNetDaily.com.

Here's a link that won't make CAIR-canada happy at all.
The CBC exposed a Canadian Muslim that was part of the London sleeper cell, this peaceful,god-loving Muslim was watched and when the bombing plot appeared to be set in motion during a phone call, the RCMP swooped down on the Canadian and found weapons under his bed along with 10,000 in cash.

CAIR had defended this man as a victim of Islamophobia in the post-911 world in NorthAmerica,CAIR has also supported two other terrorists that confessed to the involvement of
Global jihad.
CAIR just doesn't get it,we don't trust them anymore and the way to tell if Ibrahim Hooper
is lieing is to see if his lips move.
Canada has new privacy laws that prevent certain information from appearing in the mainstream
media or debates. CAIR has used this Act to claim the Government is hiding information and conducting secret trials on Muslims as if their guilty until proven innocent.

Poor Mr.Hooper, while a broken watch can still be right twice aday,Hooper can't even be right once in a lifetime.

Well I think Fox is giving a balanced side??

Look at all the Islamic Terrorist who have been caught with their pants down??

When the Mother killed the Girlfriend I can see that it is in the qu-ran women killing for??

And if they were really fair and balanced they would air the DVD of " Buried in the Sand the Deception of America" then the American People could see mulsums at their Best!!

Squirrel Hunter
Spider Killer
GOD BLESS THE USA AND HER FIGHTING FORCES AND ALL WHO FIGHT WITH HER GIVE THEM STRENGTH,WISDOM,SIGHT, AND COURAGE TO DESTROY ALL ISLAMIC TREEORIST AND ALL WHO SUPPORT THEM OPEN THE WORLDS EYSE TO THEIR EVIL AMEN

PS
Where is CAIR on the useing of Mosques to fight from and as weapon dumps I haven't heard mulsums complain about this???

Woman sparked Indonesian security alert with embassy bomb hoax

JAKARTA (Agencies): A bomb threat that closed the Thai and British embassies in Jakarta was a hoax by a woman trying to prevent her policeman boyfriend from taking leave, security officials said on Saturday.

The threat, sent late Thursday by mobile phone text message to police, generated a major security operation in a country still reeling from a string of deadly bombings blamed on al-Qaeda-linked Islamic militants.

On Friday, National Police Chief Gen. Da'i Bachtiar said the threat may have been the work of a person linked to Indonesia's most wanted men - Malaysian terror suspects Azahari bin Husin and Noordin Mohamed Top.

But, Jakarta police spokesman Sr. Comr. Ciptono said on Saturday the woman, identified as Zulfah, 22, hoped the threat would force he boyfriend, a security guard at the Thai embassy in Jakarta, to remain on duty and cancel his plan to visit his hometown elsewhere on Java island.

"She tried to prevent him from leaving because he would not take her with him," Ciptono said.

The woman was arrested in Jakarta hours after she sent the text message, but was now being treated in hospital for shock, Ciptono said. He added that she could face on year on prison for the hoax.

The spokesman said the police had traced the woman through the pre-paid cellphone number used to make the hoax. "Police have sophisticated equipment capable of tracking her location," he said. (**)
