USAid's Bok said it was unlikely US service personnel would adhere to a Muslim dresscode.
"I don't think the practice of Islam in Aceh is such that it forces all people to wear dilbab," said Weiss. "This is not Saudi Arabia."
That's exactly why they won't get a cent from me. I have donated 20 Dollars to the Thai Red Cross though hopeful that no muslims will benefit. I like to think there are few muslims in Thailand.
Care to lay odds how long it will be until an aid worker is kidnapped or killed?

In biding with this, any help to muslims in Aceh coming from the West, will be accepted without any gratitude. Charity and compassion to muslims from Christians is a double edged sword.

The funds that our respective governments are pouring in, they will go to governments. At cabinet level, ministers in Indonesia may not discriminate, but at much lower levels ie at civil servant level and worker level, discrimination is most likely. I say this on the grounds, that if a professor of islamic jurisprudence has despicable views, then one has to question what views do those who do not have academic professorial credentials.
In Indonesia and particularly Aceh, Christians have been murdered enmasse, and face ongoing persecution. As aid is distributed, they very likely be marginalised and penalised, as has been the custom. It is for this reason that I advocate donating a portion of any donation that you see fit, to go the Barnabus fund, to ensure that the marginalised Christians in Indonesia are also cared for.

The very fact that Moslems need to ask such a question shows the deficiencies of the religion. Sorry, cult. I do listen carefully to my vicar's views (ecumenical, usually accord with mine, on other issues we can agree to differ) but I can pray, read the Bible, examine my own conscience and use all that to determine right from wrong. Moslems don't seem to have that relationship with the Lord.
OT one of the most interesting things that struck me about the battle for Fallugiah was a report from a local man about how terrified his neighbours were under fire. He said he was hearing all sorts of weird things as "people are so scared they are making up their own prayers"

Respect their culture?! Who the hell cares about culture when people are starving, sick, homeless, naked, in need of every basic human necessity?! Chabad is a group of Chasidic Jews, and the Chabad house is where you can go in any country to get kosher food, contact with other Jews, etc. Well, in Thailand, Chabad House has already spent its entire 2005 budget providing food, shelter and clothing to anyone of any religion who is in need right now. BTW, they aren't demanding that hungry men wear yarmulkes before being fed.

Before Aceh implimented the shariah law, they said that it would only affect the Muslims. Of course this is standard practice of Muslims.
On the very first day the shariah law was in effect they closed 16 or 16 churches. Also, no more new churches are to be built.
They have a decency police that requires women to wear appropriate muslim clothing, including Christian women.
Even with all the deaths and the incompetence of the Indonesian government in helping the survivors, there are voices that are questioning the motives behind the generosity of the west, especially Americans. Some are just downright suspicious that the navy sent to Indonesia would spy on the Indonesians.
In truth we all care about the people of South East Asia and are hoping for the best - hence the root of our disappointment.
That the Muslims could put a women's clothing or attire over human life itself - contains the seeds of arrogance which a human being would need to learn – as a child would not understand this.
The scale of the tragedy leaves us all sadden - and it is a lesson to the Muslims - in that it is people who they have deemed unworthy - are the ones who have been chosen under their God's Will - to come and assist them. That they receive not the things they want - as in the right clothing - but the things which they need - like food and water - the substances of life.
If they have a problem with the Infidel Aid Efforts - then in truth they should take it up with their God.

Once again, Islam displays for the whole world to see the fact that its philosophy has a huge problem with reality.
There are certain requirements of reality that must be met in order for humans to survive, and Islam is so "anti-life" that it can't bring itself to allow its followers to comply with them, even in a situation like this. . .
Of course, the Islamic groups will try to show they are still in control. It is very embarrassing for them that sufficient aid does not come from Islamic sources. By ignoring their demands, USAID will show them that we are are there truly to help and not to play stupid games when people are in such desperate need.
Perhaps someday, hopefully anyway, the Muslims, after finally reaching the 21st century, traveling from 624 a.d., will realize the similarity between the headwear they force women to wear, and the Teletubbies: Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po, and do away with this ridiculous looking laundry.

My daughter loved that program. The BBC news coverage is a disappointment but we do like their childrens channels. The funny thing is whenever they went throught the Tubby TV to show the children a clip of something interesting I remember film of inside church,making dreidels at Hannukah, a Sikh boy showing kid brother how he tied his turban, but I can remember nothing from the Moslem community. And I watched a lot of Teletubbies, again again.

just an observation, the BBC seem to be going way out of their way to force the multi culti dream down our necks, I have noticed a lot of children's television presenters are of non white non British appearance and disproportionately so.

My daughter is much older now. The current favourite is the gloriously subversive Simpsons so I don't see much of the Cbeebies channel these days. No names, no pack drill, but you may remember the news reports of about 18 months ago?
I went ahead and donated to a Christian group that supposedly will help and pass the Word, too. In good conscience, I could NOT do otherwise. God have mercy on them. Many have lost their entire families, and believe that Allah not only did not prevent it, actually PLANNED it. Tragic.

Countries that donated was put on the screen and gave the breakdown of funds from the highest to lowest,NOT ONE MUSLIM COUNTRY made the list and the fact that these muslims are dictating the terms of the aid is beyond conprehension.
