And people say there's no clash of civilizations. I just hope this vote doesn't lead Iraq to Heartbreak Hotel.
Well I'm all Shook Up.
Give me the Elvis Impersonator any time.Long Live the King!
The election stations in Canada have metal detectors and people are searched for weapons or bombs.
So much for the claim that all the good Iraqi muslim fled to the west to be free and live in peace with tolerance for all people.
Those who think democracy in Iraq won't work just have Suspicious Minds.
Let's hope its
You saw me crying in the chapel
The tears I shed were tears of joy
and not
and a hungry boy with a runny nose
plays in the street as the cold wind blows
in the ghetto.
Don't be cruel youse guys
What a pleasant site to see, elections in Iraq are here and soon the voice will be heard.
How will they form their Justice System, hopefully no sharia but capitol offences should be included for execution.
Time will tell here people if peace in mid-east can be accomplished.Wonder how the Iranians will begin to feel when Iraq becomes a free country, this is a major victory in the overall battle.
We still have many roads to travel in dismantleing this monster.
My Prayers are with the Iraqi people people tonight and for all our military members a special thank you for making this happen against EVIL odds.
Gives me a fuzzy to see that. Sing with me if you want.
Amazing Grace
(words & music by William J. Gaither, arr. Elvis Presley)
Amazing grace, oh how sweet the sound
That saved a wreck like me
I once was lost, though now I'm found
I was blind, but now I see
When we've been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Then when, when we first begun
Too many ages false and spent
I have already hung
This face and flock He saved us by
His endless grace will leave me whole
Amazing grace, oh how sweet the sound
To save a wreck like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
I was blind, but now I see
I apologize to all for a faux pas I committed on dhimmiwatch.
BJ - forgive my transgression. All other JWers, please forgive me. Thanks.
Moe's Foe, most of us have made a mistake with other's posts, We can't see the expressions on faces or hear sarcasm in the voice. I did it at LGF one time, I felt like a dummy.
OT,
Hi everyone!
The new action/information site is done now.
We're opening it up to the members first for a first look.
The idea behind this site is to work hand in hand with Jihad Watch.
From the news we get there and other sources, we can then go to
Co-Jet, get background information, ready made forms/letters/briefs
to hand out or mass mail.
This was phase 1.
Getting the format together
Providing background/history
Providing useful links
Some of the articles can be downloaded directly from the site and used as flyers.
Go through each section, open all the articles. There are links within links.
Phase 2.
We have a basic committee set in place. What we now need are sub-committees. Everyone has a subject that means more to them than others. What we would like to do is match people together to work on a particular topic. You will now become the reasearchers/reporters.
From each group, we would like one person to head it. All information gathered by the group will go to the head of that group, they will filter what has been sent in and then pass it forward.
We need those people that are particularly good at writing briefs/letters to form one group. As, issues come up, we would need this group to get the documents together to send out.
For our members overseas, again, I would like to form groups that will divide the research/writing.
Look the site over, give us your feedback, think about how each of you would like to participate and let us know through the contact link on the site.
Phase 3.
Rabbit and I put up the initial funds to buy the proxy server and get the site started. In order to upgrade and include a comments section with typekey registration, we do need donations.
The goal is for this to become the one site where people can get information and to educate the public. To take action. To distribute literature, petition our representives/office of the President on issues of vital importance to our security, to stop the spread of Islam in our schools and to keep our rights.
We also want to make this truly a group effort and seek to include everyone, in any form you care to contribute, be it, with research, distrubution of information, letter writing, going into other web/blog sites and posting information about the site/donations.
So, after all that, please go to www.co-jet.org and let's get started on making some changes!
Susanb and Rabbit
P.S. Just found out that we had 257 hits YESTERDAY! Before the site was officially opened!
And please don't step on my blue suede shoes!
Doesn't anyone here think that someone of Islam belief impersonating Elvis, is kind of suspicious? I, for one, don't buy it.
Man the Elvis jokes are BAAAAD. I think I need to wash my brain out with soap.
How about a clash within a civilization. Check this out (from AP):

Riot, Bomb Scare at Australia Polls
Saturday, January 29, 2005
Associated Press
SYDNEY, Australia — An Australian polling station for Iraqi exiles voting in their homeland's historic election was closed for an hour on Saturday after a riot broke out and a suspicious bag prompted a bomb scare, organizers said.
Bernie Hogan, the head of Australia's overseas voting program, said the riot erupted when a group of around 20 protesters started yelling insults at voters leaving the polling center in a Sydney neighborhood dominated by Iraqi Shiites.
Hogan said the protesters were holding up the same black flag with white lettering that has appeared as a backdrop in videos released by Iraqi insurgents featuring foreign hostages begging for their lives.
Thair Wali, an Iraqi adviser for the International Organization for Migration, said the protesters' flag and Arabic slogans identified them as Wahabis, followers of an austere brand of Sunni Islam practiced mostly in Saudi Arabia.
Wahabis are suspected of having influence over militants waging a 17-month insurgency in Iraq.
Wali said the fight broke out after the protesters took pictures of voters.
"This is scary for the people, taking photos of the voting," he said.
Many of Australia's estimated 80,000 Iraqis declined to register for the election, fearing their votes would make relatives in Iraq terrorist targets.
Around 50 people wrestled in the street, threw punches and hit one another over the head with their shoes — an insult in Iraqi culture, Hogan said.
The polling center was closed and police cordoned off the area while the contents of an unattended backpack were examined, a spokesman for the New South Wales state police said on a condition of anonymity. The bag contained water and biscuits.
Australia is one of 14 countries where Iraqi exiles can vote by absentee ballot.

For some reason I have never been able to fathom (not being much of an Elvis fan myself, but having listened to a lot in my time played by members of my family) Elvis is very popular among British Asians of all religions.
A Moslem colleague's wife (Pakistani) has all the films on video and regularly takes him off to conventions. One of the better impersonators is a Sikh who performs in rhinestone suit and turban, and calls his act "Turbans over Memphis".
I can well belive an Iraqi Elvis to be genuine.
50,000,000 Elvis fans can't be wrong.
Doesn't anyone here think that someone of Islam belief impersonating Elvis, is kind of suspicious? I, for one, don't buy it.
Posted by: typesetterHis name is Benjamin Nissan. That would be a very Jewish name. He must be a Jewish Iraqi in some way

He’s a professional beautician who likes to dress like Elvis. He’s
got a Jewish first name and a Japanese last name. So, what’s the
last thing you would ever imagine this character doing?

After taking part in his first ever Iraqi election, Benjamin Nissan went
home, made hissef a mess uh fried peanut butter an’ ‘nana sandwiches, then
suffered a massive heart attack while taking a dump. Seriously, though,
how cool must it be for these guys living here to take part in this process?
Good for them, and good for those voters in other countries as well.
