Filipino commentator Patricio Diaz takes apart Kofi Annan's silly arguments that Islam is equivalent to other religions in its peacefulness, and his dhimmi analysis of "Islamophobia" in MindaNews (thanks to Anthony):
GENERAL SANTOS CITY -- In addressing the seminar on “Combatting Islamophobia,” U.N. Secretary Kofi Annan called for the distinction of the politically-motivated violence from the religiously-motivated one.“Islam should not be judged by the acts of extremists who deliberately target and kill civilians. The few give a bad name to the many, and this is unfair,” he said.
While addressing an audience of scholars, senior United Nations officials, and representatives from civil society organizations, Annan meant to address the Christian West at large. America in particular?
Premise
Annan’s proposal is premised on the belief that Islam, like Christianity and other religions, is for peace and condemns violence. Therefore, Muslims are peace-loving. They cannot do violence in the name of Islam.
Conversely, the Christian West should understand Islam as a religion for peace. It should not link Islam to the terrorism of Bin Laden and other Arab extremists. They are Muslims but true believers of Islam condemn their acts as anti-Islam.
Islamophobia grew from the ignorance of the Christian West about Islam. Because the Arab terrorists are Muslims, Muslim and Islam are associated with terrorism. In the United States, American Muslims, after 9/11, are considered by many other Americans as
security risk.Philippine Case
Annan’s proposal is similar to the complaint of Muslims against the practice of Philippine media of using “Muslim” to identify perpetrators of crimes in their reports. Distinguish the perpetrator’s name from his being Muslim. Use his name for identity,
leave out “Muslim.”The Philippine Muslims’ case against media and Annan’s proposal are identically premised. A law was eventually passed prohibiting, with penalty, the use of “Muslim" to identify crime suspects. The Philippine media practice has considerably toned down, not necessarily because of the law but by media’s own efforts.
The U.N. in viewing Islamophobia as a new form of racial and religious discrimination and Muslim Public Affairs Council in America in considering it as religious and political extremism are sounding the call to banish it this early.
Pitfall
Hopefully, the United Nations Commission on Human Rights with the cooperation of the 151 U.N. member states, as mandated in a resolution, by pounding on world consciousness what Islamophobia is and is not can make the Christian West understand Islam and Muslim properly. But the pitfall is in Islam and the Muslims.
Annan proposes to distinguish the politically-motivated violence from the religiously motivated one. Meaning, distinction will show that terrorism is politically motivated. Even if the Arab terrorists are Muslims, terrorists and terrorism must be disassociated from Islam. There is no religiously-motivated violence.
But Islam does not distinguish itself from the state. To the Muslims, it is a total way of life. Religion and politics, Islam and the state are one. How can unity be separated? Muslims testify to this in what they do.
Terrorists
Are Bin Laden, the al-Qaida, the Jemaah Islamiyah, and the militant groups in Egypt, Iraq, Palestine, and elsewhere in the Middle-East only politically motivated in their many acts of terrorism? They call their terroristic activities jihad or Holy War according to the Qur’an.
We have witnessed it in the Philippines and the same is true anywhere else, according to media reports. The terrorists’s war cry is “Allahu al-Akbar! Allahu al-Akbar!” (God is Great!) They invoke Allah, their God for what they do.
Gracia Burnham, the American missionary who was held hostage by the Abu Sayyaf in Basilan Island for over a year, related in her book the religiousness of the terrorists, all Muslims. They read the Qur’an, gave the hostages the Qur’an to read, and prayed regularly.
They said that hostage-taking was part of their jihad, obviously to raise funds, to create an Islamic state. Jihad, Islamic state -- both religious and political and inseparable -- are the motives of terrorism by terrorists devoutly practicing Islam.
Read it all.
To save me time, does anyone know if Kofi Annan is a Moslem?
Also, how many countries are part of the UN and of those, how many are Islamic?
Thanks.
No, I believe it's been said before that Kofi's not Muslim. But he's certainly comfortable being the Muslim world's moll. Kofi's most pressing concern seems to be to rid the world of "Islamophobia", as if that would mean wonderment and bliss for the planet and its people. Yeah, Kofi, keep badgering us about being Islamophobes. Never mind the mass murders done by Islamics the past several decades. Conveniently sweep that under the carpet, explain it away as "political", conveniently pretend not to hear the very religious cries of "Allah Akbar". Nobody's screaming "Vive le Palestine libre!" as they saw off heads or murder young kids. No, they're screaming to their "god", you braindead idiot. Is that political? Do you think we're stupid? What a grubby little prostitute, this Kofi creature is.
Annan for a non-Moslem must be bought and paid for by the currupt UN power culture. If he is not a Moslem, what is he? I am just curious that someone with the power to do the right thing is involved in scandals and acting as an agent of Islamic propaganda.
I want to know how many of the 191 UN member nations are Islamic. Because there will come a day that the UN is populated by a majority Moslem membership. As some of the European G-5 nations become increasingly Islamic orientated, like France, Germany, the possibility that the UN could be another venue for Islamic expansion increases. Any thoughts on this?
P.S. This picture of Annan says it all:

He is a Quisling .....And therefore a Criminal
scum... directly responsible for the deaths of thousands...hundreds of thousands??????...more?
infidels,..... . various kinds of people of the book,.......... AND MUSLIMS as well.
IMHO............=(In My Humble Opinion)
“Islam should not be judged by the acts of extremists who deliberately target and kill civilians. The few give a bad name to the many, and this is unfair,” he said.
Should not Islam be judged by the acts of those who deliberately follow the commandments of Allah as revealed in the Qur'an (Sura 9:5 and 9:29)?
And why not?
If I order someone to kill someone else, should me and my orders not be judged by the act of that murderer?
Of course they should. Obviously Logic and Islam are two things Kofi Annan has never wrapped his brain around.
This is from a petition to deny Kofi Annan the Nobel Peace Prize - a peace that he repeatedly failed to maintain then in Rwanda and Bosnia, and now in Sudan:
"...In the case of Rwanda, he even received a stream of specific warnings from well-informed sources on the planning of genocide three months before the murderers set out. Warnings that he chose not to make public or pass on to those targeted for elimination, since he knew that such publicity would discomfort certain governments in the Security Council. Governments, who on the one hand did not want to intervene in Africa, but on the other hand did not either want to face embarrassing public criticism for being bystanders to genocide. And it is today well documented – also in UN reports - that he even chose to stay silent during those 100 days when an estimated 1,000,000 Rwandans were massacred.
In the case of Bosnia, Mr Annan not only remained silent in the face of atrocities: he argued against the use of force. Despite the fact that in 1993, Srebrenica – largely Muslim enclave in Serb-dominated eastern Bosnia – had been designated as one of six “safe areas” by the Security Council, Mr Annan neither wanted UNPROFORs Rapid Reaction Force to intervene, nor did he want the Dutch UN Battalion based at Srebrenica to actively defend the enclave. Instead, Mr Annan continuously called for negotiations and dialogue with the Serb leaders, who had already before the Srebrenica killed scores of civilians. This strategy was so firmly defended that even when it became clear that the Serb forces were moving in on Srebrenica and the Dutch commander, Colonel Ton Karremans, asked UN Headquarters for air support, these requests were repeatedly denied..."

It's all detailed in Dore Gold's superb "Tower of Babble", as well.
As mentioned in another thread, 'Islamo-phobia' ('fear of Islam') seems common sensical to me.
Since their most vocal proponents and violent proselytizers are merely following The Koranic edict- to go forth and conquer all 'infidels' and bring on the Global Islamic Terror State* (known under its Muslim nomenclature as 'The Restored Caliphate') and to use mass-murder as their methodology.
'Repulsion With Islam' is more what should be conveyed, since mere 'fear' gets you nowhere.
'Islamo-pathic' (sick of Islam) may say it better.
At least you can than begin to counteract its toxic 'suras' with some secular sense.
*'G.I.T.S.'-MO?
It strikes me as funny (in a sick way) that those very people who feel so unfairly maligned are only too happy to paint Jews, Christians and others in all sorts of derogatory, contempt-filled terms.
There are nowadays 191 Members of the UN.
Of these, 56 are aligned (together, the biggest single voting bloc in the General Assembly) in the "Organization of Islamic Conferences".
The OIC likes to claim a tally of 57 countries, including the "State of Palestine" - which is not (and has never been) a sovereign entity.
About ten of the OIC's Members, mostly in Africa, do not have an overwhelming majority of Moslems making up their populations, but nonetheless contain sizeable (and growing) numbers of them.
Counting "Palestine", the Arab League has 22 Members within the OIC.
Proposal from Pythagoras for Combating Kofi Annan:
1-) Expose the man as an accomplice to the human rights atrocities ( mainly the intentional starvation of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilizians) committed by Saddam Hussein through the embezzlement of the Oil for Food money (to the tune of US $21 BILLION). At best, Annan has been proven to have known all about the embezzlement of these funds and did nothing to bring Saddam Hussein to justice. At worst, this man took blood money and profited from the suffering and deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent human beings.
2-) Expose the man as a hypocrite of no credibility. As of now, he is morally discredited. He is no position to be defending the morals of anything other than his own. Annan is unable to credibly defend Islam--and he actually morally lowers it by trying to do so. Would America want someone like Gordon Liddy writing essays to the world telling it how moral the their country is?
3-)Expose the horrible and brutal history of Islam and how this so-called 'religion' destroyed at least eight major civlizations for no reason at all and slaughtered hundreds of millions of innocent human beings for an agenda built on unproven ideological beliefs. Anyone from India will be happy to debunk Annan's bogus case defending Islam.
It is sad that the 1 percent of the good muslims must be tarnished by the actions of the 99 percent that follow the True teachings in the Quran.
HGII
Thanks for the rundown. With 56 of the 191 countries currently Islamic within the UN under the OIC, I seems it will be a while before the star and crescent flies above the UN building wherever it may be in the future(hopefully it will get out of NYC, to hell with the revenue Bloomberg mentions it brings into the city.
If they constitute the largest electoral bloc in the UN structure, how does that compare to the G-5 voting power?
Anyway, scratch Le France off the list. In a few years It will soon be the first openly G-5 nation voting as a member of the OIC!
Dr. Robert Morey:
Very good work. Hereare my additions:
Does Islam contain elements of human sacrifice in it? Yes.
Is Islam in its present form a Middle Eastern military response to the spread of belief in a deity that orders humans NOT to commit murder? Yes.
Does Islam contain elements from the Sumerians in southern Babylon? It definitely does.
Does Islam originate from Saudi Arabia? Not likely. Only we think in its present form. Most likely Islam resurfaced in Saudi Arabia and was repackaged combining a mix of pagan Middle Eastern beliefs.
Does Islam originate from Babylon? Evidence indicates that it does.
Could Islam be over 5000 years old? It could very well be.
Is Islamic violence and/or jihadism rooted in ancient Middle Eastern human sacrifice? It must be.
Is al-lah really 'Marduk', the god of the ancient babylonians? Yes.
Is al-lah actually 'baal'? Yes.
Is 'baal' the etymological origin of the world 'Beelzebub'? Yes.
Is 'Beelzebub' a synonym for 'Satan' ? It is.
Must Al-lah therefore be Satan? Not conclusive, but it would appear to be the case.
Was the kaaba originally used for human sacrifice? Probably.
Did Muhammed surreptitiously substitute the Babylonian deity 'Marduk' or 'baal' for al-lah without telling anyone? It would appear he did. We may never know who put him up to it.
Have the peoples of the Middle East been practicing human sacrifice for thousands of years? Yes.
Does anything really change in the Middle East? Not really.
Does Islam counterfeit judeo-Christianism? Absolutely.
Is this to facilitate genocide against jews and others of faiths who follow a deity that has prohibited murder? Yes.
Do deities that outlaw murder paralyze human sacrifice practices by doing so? Yes indeed.
Is that what Islam is, a 'religious' war to reinstate human sacrifice on a worldwide scale? Almost certainly.
