ISLAMABAD, Jan 12: Suicide bombers are not necessarily uneducated, poor and psychopaths but are as much economically well-off as their surrounding population.These views were expressed by a leading Australia-based Pakistani sociologist, Dr Riaz Hassan, who was delivering a lecture on suicide bombers here on Wednesday.
He said the suicide bombers opted to use their lives as a weapon against a powerful enemy to bring honour and power to their suppressed nation and compel the occupying foreign forces to leave their land.
Dr Hassan described some novel facts and figures he had gathered while conducting his ongoing research on suicide bombers. About 66 per cent of the Palestinian suicide bombers were high school or university graduates.
The Islamic world already suffers from a paucity of educated people. If the few that are educated, keep blowing themselves up, then the future of the islamic world is even bleaker then I thought.
Muslims are a parasite on the rest of the world, just as their prophet was, and to which the muslim looks to as a role model.
Whose side is Dr Hassan on? Don't know rest of his speech but he hasn't mentioned anything about disproving 72 Raisins/Virgins theory. If 'educated' Muslims believe this, the illiterate

I think the success lies in making their lives on earth as bleak and restricted as possible, so that they'd gladly do the unthinkable to get away from it. Where's the joy in Islamic life? The creativity? Art, music, theatre, literature, ...? Just mindless routine, day in, day out, a life so micromanaged, restricted and backward. What a tiresome debate. Jihadist terrorists and mass murderers come from both sexes, come in all flavors, and races, some are middle class and some are from the poor. Some are spoiled rich boys like Osama Bin Ladin.

This article has actually surprised me, I always thought of suicide bombers being the more retarded muslims and easily influence/intimidated ones (eg- teenagers , women, society drop outs.... etc) and thought it was the ones in higher positions who did the influencing, because they didn't have the balls to do it themselves.
I was obviously wrong, and I've got to say the mindframe of muslims must be more screwed up than I thought. It's like finding out that Oxford graduates are a large part of a national movement of thuggish , skin-heads on a violence and destruction spree.

Otherwise, there are many far more legitimately aggrieved groups in the world.
