Muslim call irks Danish leader

Once again, the misapprehension that this is a racial issue. And once again, no sign of awareness among Danish officials that Islam is any different from Christianity in its relation to the political sphere. Prime Minister Fogh Rasmussen has a lot to learn, and chances are that in the coming years, he'll learn it. From Financial Times, with thanks to Anthony:

A vitriolic row over race relations erupted into the heart of Denmark's general election campaign yesterday when Islamic leaders urged the country's 170,000 Muslims to vote against the ruling centre-right coalition.... However, the race row erupted after Kasem Said Ahmad, a prominent Muslim community spokesman, said he advised all Muslims to oppose the government in next month's vote. Mr Ahmad said he was organising a gathering of 25 imams (Muslim clerics), who plan to issue an anti-government message at next week's Friday prayers.

Mr Fogh Rasmussen responded angrily and immediately to the proposed intervention of Denmark's imams: "They should keep their fingers out of politics," Mr Fogh Rasmussen said. "In Denmark we keep politics and religion separate. Imagine if Danish priests were to use church pulpits to urge people to vote for particular parties," he said.

It would be illegal. Let them take action against the Imam and then watch the moderate become manic.

"...Imagine if Danish priests were to use church pulpits to urge people to vote for particular parties," he said.

What does he think would happen? The congregation would probably politely tell the priest to shut up and mind his own business.

A priest debating politics? What is he going to do quote the Bible?

Maybe they should try this, maybe then they would realize that Islam is an ideology, not a religion.

fides, u r a moron shut up and mind ur own business, which is likely garbage pickup

who plan to issue an anti-government message at next week's Friday prayers.
Otherwise known as a FATWAH. The Danes won't get it until Muslims are exploding in their parliament building, skyscrapers, and stadiums. Given Muslims are improving their taqiyya every day, the Danes still might not get it.

Mr Fogh Rasmussen

Trade on the Islamic opposition to your government. Make sure every voter knows about that opposition.

I know those Muslims long for the day when everyone must bow to Allah and they are free to go around raping Danish girls. And Mr. Fogh Rasmussen, you stand in their way!

You must be doing something right. Obviously, there are some in Denmark that the Muslim population will be good Dhiminis. So keep on doing what you are doing to annoy those Muslims.

The film festival in Holland is too afraid to screen Van Gogh's film; another victory for islam.

Fides, in a secular state it is acceptable for religious leaders to urge their followers to vote for or against a political party, just as any other interest group might.

What is Knowalot so upset about ?

islam as ideology, albeit fascist, sure; as a religion, an insult to humanity.

The Muslim population in Canada is on a similar crusade to have Imam's make political orations to elect a Islam-friendly Party of Candidate.
The Election laws and tax-exempt rules make it very clear that charities are forbidden from engaging in Political issues or direct campaigning to sway members of a religious sect. Muslims leaders have argued that a Mosque is also a community centre that keeps muslims informed and acts as a source of information for the people attending the Mosque.
The Government didn't fall for it and to counter the stance of the tax rules the Muslim leaders still spoke about the election but reserved it for outside the Mosque or made subtle references to a view during Friday sermons.
There were also comments made on Islamic websites that were portrayed as a personal view that Muslims could consider. The real shock was when I read the Zionist-friendly campaigners
reviews, there were comments on the Party's that had a pro-Israel foreign policy.

It's truely amazing that Muslims don't think we have the brains to see through their charade that tries to make islam look peaceful and tolerant to all religions. While their lips keep flapping about the respect for Jews and Christians in the Quran, the reality is that most Islamic based websites in the west spew some very bigotted and antisemitic diatribes that have overt lies and historic revisionism.

knowalot is a muslim troll.

We want freedom, and we don“t want islam

Upcoming vote....sounds like politicians may be caught in the middle of something.....it is time for the Danes to take heed at polls for politicians and let them know what you want......if muslims would sway the vote with say some jihadict tactics?........

Thanks CGW.
