Protestant Proselytizers Eye 10% of Turks: Report

From IslamOnline, with thanks to Ali Dashti, who suggests that Turkey may be ill-advised to present itself so openly as a "Muslim Club" while it is trying to join the EU:

CAIRO, December 31 (IslamOnline.net) - Protestant missionaries are planning to proselytize some 10 per cent of Turkey's 70 million population by 2020, the Turkish army warned in a report published Friday, December 31.

Up to one million gospels are planned to be distributed among the Turkish people during this period, Turkish daily Zaman reported Friday, citing the “Proselytizing Activities in Turkey and the World” report.

The missionaries are trying to fill the “spiritual void” left by the youths' ignorance about the basic tenets and rituals of Islam, according to the report.

The proselytizers are playing on pitting the Sunnis and the `Alawiyyin against one another to preach about the Christian faith, the report added....

The report further said that 15,000 Turks have been converted to Christianity, and other sects like Baha’iyyah over the past few years.

Of the converters, 185 Muslims have officially changed their religion to Christianity over the past three years and only one to Judaism, the report added.

Ali Dashti also says: "Notice how few of those who leave Islam do it officially. Why do you think?"

In case anyone doesn't know the answer, it's because of the fact that although the dhimmi laws are no longer officially on the books in Turkey, they still exert enough influence to make life exceedingly difficult for Christians there.

"Protestant Proselytizers Eye 10% of Turks: Report"

When Turkey allows 100% of Turks to change their religion to Protestantism and/or speak openly to protestant proselytizers then Turkey will have earned the right into the EU. Until that day comes Turkey will be just another intolerant unethical Islamic country that isn't practising many basic EU humanist values.

If a country doesn’t have humanist core values then why should anyone want to do anything with such a country? Oh, it would make sense if you wanted to surrender those humanist values.

Since Turkey will become a member of the EU anyhow, westerners should try their utmost to westernize Turkey instead of Turkey islamizing Europe. So, if ten percent of the Turks would be Christian in 2020, I do not have much problems with that, though I rather would see they become atheist. Let us also not forget there are many Alevites in Turkey as well; religious people who are know for their liberal thoughts. So there is still hope!

Considering that Turkey’s sorry record of Christian genocide and persecution in the last century and before was only surpassed by the Nazi genocide and persecution of the Jews, the proselytizers .are optimistic to think they will get a free reign to convert Turks. The Turks will likely be killing remaining Christians faster than the Protestants can convert Muslims to Christianity, not to mention that such converts will themselves be considered Apostates, making them too into targets for Islamic murder.

These guys are as starry-eyed as the EU-crats are about Turkey. They should get out a history book.

Turkey is an enemy of Christianity, Jewry, and Western Civilization, and that is not going to change anytime soon. Our much vaunted alliances with this country are a relic of the Soviet era and no longer mean anything against Islamic terrorism, witness their refusal to let our Army into Northern Iraq.

I’ve read the posts asking for Jihadwatch readers to provide ideas for what we might do to help spread the word. From what I’ve seen so far, there are some great ideas and you have my complete support. I would suggest though that we’d be remiss in our efforts if first we didn’t recognize and show our tangible support and appreciation to Robert and Hugh for running the Jihadwatch site. They’re providing a great service and doing outstanding work--I think we should do what we can to help them continue that work.

With that said, I’M CHALLENGING ALL JIHADWATCH READERS TO DONATE $100.00 (OR WHATEVER YOU CAN) TO JIHADWATCH.ORG AND TO SEND AT LEAST ONE OF ROBERT’S BOOKS TO SOMEONE (FRIEND, FOE, FAMILY, POLITICIAN, ETC.).

There’s a donation link in the left column on the home page and a link at the top of the page for purchasing books.

Any takers?

Jimmy Bones,
You are correct about the Turks being enemies of Christianity. The question I am compelled to ask is, "How big is your God?". If God wills it, then 10 percent in Turkey will prove to be astonishingly low. I think Iran is a natural fit for a revival as well. Iranians are Persian, not Arabs, Shia, not Sunni (Wahabbi) and have a rich Zoroastrian history. Also, there are tonnes of young people within Iran who are keenly interested in the West. With JHVH, nothing is impossible.

Only the islamic problem will end with no muslims, and the unique possibiilty is the conversions to other religions including christianity, of course, is the best manner to end with islamic terrorism.

This may the only bright spot with Turkey entering the EU. Onward Christian Soldiers! Grab your Bibles and get out there and convert the true infidels.
