A suicide bomber from Saudi Arabia, who survived a failed attempt to blow up the Jordanian mission Baghdad in December, alleges that Iraqi police may have captured, and then released, the most wanted terrorist in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, two months ago. Both U.S. and Iraqi officials could not confirm the claims made by the suicide bomber.On a video disk provided by Iraq's interior ministry, the badly-burned man, identified as Ahmed Abdullah al-Shaiyah, tells Iraqi interrogators about his journey from Saudi Arabia to Baghdad between late October and December to volunteer for suicide missions....
"Do you know what has happened to Zarqawi and where he is?" an Iraqi investigator asked Mr. Shaiyah.
He answered, "I don't know, but I heard from some of my mujahadeen brothers that Iraqi police had captured Zarqawi in Fallujah." Mr. Shaiyah says he then heard that the police let the terrorist go because they had failed to recognize him.
A U.S. military official in Baghdad said he had no evidence to corroborate the allegations from the suicide bomber.
And, during a press conference Saturday, Iraq's interior minister, Falah al-Naqib declined to answer a reporter's question about the allegation and rumors that Zarqawi had been arrested.
REPORTER: "Can you just clarify a bit what you were just saying or not saying about Zarqawi?"
NAQIB: "I wouldn't like to comment for the time being. Let us see."
REPORTER: "Does that mean you have him in custody?"
NAQIB: "Pardon?"
REPORTER: "Does that mean he is in custody?"
NAQIB: "No comments."
Another option here would have been to just let him go not that they did not recognize him. He either bribed or coerced his freedom away with their full knowledge.
Not to worry though as he will be caught. Iraqi elections just days away and prosperity is around the corner.
Wonder how the Iraqi Justice System will handle the insurgents.

sympathetic [or frightened] Iraqi officials. From what Coalition forces have said it is dangerous trusting any Iraqis except for the Kurds.
Have forced myself to watch two Beheading videos in which Zaqawi gave the 'Chop.' The videos were disgusting but there is no way a one legged man could have performed these gruesome murders even with help from others as victims are forced to the
floor with the murderers. Don't believe Zaqawi has only one leg, not for the first time Intelligence has got their wires crossed.

The "neocons" approve an interim Iraqi constitution that makes Iraq and Islamic Republic, Islam the official religion and Shari'a the basis of the consitution and the law of the land. Shades of Iran.

The murder of Armanious is on the run, the government covers up the hate crime against Christians, they let Zarqawi go, they invade AFghanistan, Iraq, support the KLA and the Bosnian Muslims, replacing their governments with Islamic governments,, they take the sides of Chechnyan Muslims, back a Ukranian that seeks accomodation with Muslims, are busy partners with the Saudis, actively recruited Muslim brotherhood, have kept a wall of silence in the media over the Muslim atrocities (against their own people) especially in Pakistan, Algeria, Morocco, do not permit anything negative in the press about Saudi Arabia.
And they are fighting a war on "terrorism". Yeh right.

Agree with most of what you say. Re: situation in Balkans it is now fairly well accepted by U.S that the very reasons for bombing Belgrade were spurious ones,the Bosnian Muslims staged the 'atrocities', cold bloodedly killing their own people to get Nato on their side. Despite protests by other European observers and peace keeping troops who could see where snipers were actually shooting from. The Serbs of course were ignored and I believe that Clinton Adminstration was happy to sacrifice many innocent Civilian Serbs [shades of World War 11] for their Muslim Buddies, the Saudis. Clinton financed and helped get weapons through to Bosnia and Kosovo. The Albright woman covered up any protests or reports to the contrary, she too was probably getting largesse from Saudis. Why do you think Milosvic hasn't been convicted yet because he knows too much about Clinton and Blair, there are pics of Blair in Kosovo doing his 'I love & defend Muslims' act.
The war in Iraq has nothing to do with Democracy and Freedom but has everything to do with Black Gold and huge amounts of money. I feel so sorry for all those young men and women who are getting
mutilated and killed in Iraq for what basically comes down to lies.

As a Civilian and target being fed up with Islamic Ideology all I can do is sign petitions, voice my opinions in blogs etc., wanting nothing more than to see our leaders declare open season on extremist it just wont happen, should I take matters into my own hands it would be a crime.

I seriously doubt the worlds greatest coward would hang around Fallujah, after knowing for weeks in advance that US Marines & Army were coming in force to kill as many Insurgents as possible.
It's not like Zarqawi's so brave as to do his own fighting & killing, and he can only guess at what American troops would do if they ever caught him alive.
