We're experiencing some strange technical problems that involve the disappearance, in whole or part, of the left-hand side of this page and the Dhimmi Watch page. This means that the explanatory "Why Jihad Watch?" and "Why Dhimmi Watch?," plus the archival links, donation features, and links to other sites may or may not be visible until we get this figured out. But above all, someone has pointed out to me that the "Contact Us" feature is also only sporadically available. So if you don't see it, please send article links, questions, comments, oily disingenuous "gotcha" queries and hate mail to director@jihadwatch.org. And thanks for your patience.
UPDATE: The nonpareil Charles found the problem: Jihad Watch was running out of space. He has cleared us some for the short term and we have put in an order for more, so we should be back on track now. Thanks, Charles.
That's actually a relief to me. My steam driven computer crashed earlier today and I feared the disappearance of these columns was another symptom of something expensively wrong.
Happy New Year to all by the way.
And, proof that Iraq is NOT going to become a Democratic state (despite the American blood that has been spilled there), the execution of five security guards on the streets of Baghdad was viewed by passersby without ANY of the passersby attempting to assist the victims.
Imagine that same scene taking place in, say, colonial America. Imagine colonists standing by as other colonists were executed by "insurrectionists". Couldn't have happened because MOST colonists were independence minded and knew that enemies of freedom were their enemies too.
The "liberation" of Iraq is a debacle because although many Iraqis may NOT have wanted to live under the Saddam Hussein regime, the prospect of a "western" style government is just as unpalatable.
Islam is Islam. It cannot co-exist with any other "ism".
How many more Americans will have to die on foreign soil before we give that useless hunk of Arabia back to the Arabs and use US troops here at home to constitutionally defend our borders?
Let me point something else as well. A typo or a misspelling. See the word in bold above. Shouldn't it be "someone has pointed out to me"?
'And, proof that Iraq is NOT going to become a Democratic state (despite the American blood that has been spilled there), the execution of five security guards on the streets of Baghdad was viewed by passersby without ANY of the passersby attempting to assist the victims' ~ Peggy
Ohhh, Peggy. Do you remember a certain women in New York city, I think it was? Spent half an hour screaming for help as she was butchered and NO ONE came to help her? And they know for a Fact there were over 30 witnesses.
So, your point again is.......?
The technical difficulties seem to be with Osama. He should run as a poltician and let the Iraqi people vote for or against him. AND IF they dont want to vote for a Dmocracy. Then we need to get the hell out of there and get our boys HOME! - STAT - Wipe your feet from their lands and put-up invisible borders to keep them out of our Country. Where's that resolution? An American NDN, & Grmrpr.
This does not surprise me. The fact is success creates it's own unique set of problems. This site is going to take off in a big way, especially if there is another major attack like Madrid happens (I HOPE NOT!). The 'solution' that Charles has proposed is strictly a stop-gap measure. JW/DW will be a major source for news in 2005. Happy New Years everyone!
