"Why are these people who are not even from Iraq protesting against these elections?" Because Hizb-ut-Tahrir wants to see Sharia instituted in Iraq -- and everywhere else. Since it see Sharia as the law of Allah, it will never accept democracy in its place.

Iraqis have clashed with demonstrators against the election outside a polling station in Manchester.About 200 demonstrators were chased by another group who burned their flags, while other Iraqis clashed with police....
The demonstrators were from Hizb-ut-Tahrir - an Islamic group which is against the elections in Iraq.
David Kahrmann, from the Iraq Election Team, said the protesters "were not even Iraqis".
"The Iraqi community here were saying, 'Why are these people who are not even from Iraq protesting against these elections?'," he said.
Dr Abdul Wahid, of Hizb-ut-Tahrir, said his demonstrators had begun walking away from the scene after election organisers said they were worried their presence could prove trouble.
I'm surprised the commies didn't join the protest.
Good for those who told the demonstrators to shove it. Over 60% of the Iraqi electorate went to the polls despite threats of terrorism--when we in more mature democracies think we're doing well with 55% turnout, and no threats at all. My hat is off to those people.

News emerged in Sydney, Australia, yesterday evening of a violent affray on Auburn’s main drag on Sunday night, on the heels of the anti-democratic altercations at the polling-station there on Saturday.
Somewhat alarmingly, at least two guns were fired, a pistol and a shotgun, a minimum of a five rounds were discharged; of the hundred or so local men at the scene, four individuals received attention from para-medics. Three were treated for contusions, lacerations, abrasions, etc: street-brawl injuries caused by fists, jabs, kicks, gouges and the impact of blunt instruments (allegedly, lengths of metal pipe and broken-off chair-legs) - not for bullet-wounds. The fourth person was tended by the ambos for minor cuts from flying glass.
NSW Police haven’t publicly identified their suspects, but residents, Iraqi Shi’ites, say the attack was the work of followers of “Osama bin-Laden, Zarqawi” and that it was Sunni gunmen, in the mould of el-Qaeda, who shot up several parked cars and shop-fronts there, as well as firing at the people on the pavement.
Dr Abdul Wahid, of Hizb-ut-Tahrir, must think that we are all blind. The TV images clearly showed the black-clad jihadis, many of them not of voting age, charging at the voters, and the police containing them. At one point one black-clad boy, barely half the size of a British policeman, was still trying to get at the voters, until the policeman waved his truncheon threateningly at him, at which point the boy retreated surlily towards his companions. And what kind of scum takes teen-age boys on violent demonstrations? The same kind, obviously, who send them to die against American soldiers and Iraqi policemen.
Incidentally, the BBC did everything in its power to play the incident down, and most Britons may not even have heard of it. But the BBC today has already behaved much better than it has in the last several months, in which it had spent all its free time reporting with a long face about every item of violence taking place in Iraq, leaving the British in general under the impression that nothing good could possibly ever happen there. At least yesterday they were so overwhelmed by the reality of the elections that their relentlessly anti-coalition line was for once silenced. However, I doubt whether this will be the case for the Arabist hard core of the British media - Channel 4, The Independent, and The Daily Mirror, who have openly rooted from the beginning for the defeat of the Coalition and the triumph of Jihad, under the strange impression that it would forward a socially progressive agenda in the West.
Wait a min. I thought that the People in Aussi Land didn't have the right to have guns??
