A cheap children's game has been withdrawn from sale because it features players pretending to be Osama bin Laden steering a passenger jet into New York's twin towers.The tasteless £1 liquid crystal game - aimed at children aged five and over - has been removed from the shelves of a discount store in Warrington, Cheshire, after protests from religious leaders. Laden Versus USA also has packaging which features a photograph of the World Trade Centre on fire along with a picture of the al-Qaida leader and a grimacing George Bush.
The game, imported from Asia, had been on sale at a Pound Store in Warrington. But, after protests, the company has agreed to remove it from the shelves. A headline in a local paper asked: "Is this the sickest toy ever?"
I'd be joyed to make the first comment since I have broken my leg and will house bound for the next six weeks.
Shaukat Rashid of Warrington Islamic Association said: "It's despicable that an act like that is being used to profiteer. The Islamic community in Warrington publicly condemned the perpetrators of September 11 and we would call on people to boycott the game. It is sick. What will it be next - a game based on the tsunami disaster?"
Well if this is true then credit where its due since there have been very few public condemnations from the so called moderate community.
What is evident to me is
1. The shopkeepers either extremely negilegent or supporting Bin Laden.
2. The company the makes the toys support Bin Laden. Otherwise it was really USA v Bin Laden surely it would be set in Warzistan?
I'm surprised there is not a law against selling products that promote suicide among minors.

I'm sure an apologist from C.A.I.R. will have some rationalization about the rampant violence in American video games to counter this blatant 'Islamophobic' slur!
In response, I suggest that an enterpreneur in Silicon Valley come up with a "United Flight 93" game, showing the heroic U.S. civilians overpowering and destroying the kamikazee Muslim maniacs onboard the tragic airplane lost over Pennsylvania.
