An American Christian pastor has been stabbed in the Algerian capital, prompting security services to investigate any possible link to Islamist rebels.According to diplomatic sources, Hugh Johnson of the Protestant Church of Algeria was stabbed by an unknown assailant in downtown Algiers and later underwent surgery.
His condition was not life-threatening, diplomats said.
Police said the investigation to determine any link with terrorism was under way.

Algeria Signs Deal to End Berber Conflict
Algeria's government signed an agreement Sunday to end years of conflict with the restive Berber minority, pledging to accept long-standing demands including greater recognition of the Berber language. The demands accepted by the government were part of a nonnegotiable list first put forward at the height of a crisis in 2001 when the killing of a Berber teenager arrested by security forces sparked massive riots.
Algeria's Berbers, who make up nearly a third of the country's 30 million people, claim to be the original inhabitants of North Africa before Arabs conquered most of the region in the 7th century. The Berbers then asked that their language, Tamazight, be recognized as an official language that can be used on government documents like birth certificates.
The Jihad is ongoing - there must be no other Religion but ISLAM! Too bad there wasn't any investigation into the brainwashing and teaching of unjustified hatred tracing all the way back to Muslim youth that comes from the Quran that leads millions to a radical belief.
