"What kind of jihad is this? Is it jihad against women and babies?"

"26 die in wave of explosions in Iraq," from the Myrtle Beach Sun, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Insurgents set off at least four bombs Wednesday in Baghdad, killing at least 26 people and wounding more than 20 in a continuing campaign to disrupt national parliamentary elections scheduled to take place Jan. 30.

An organization linked to Jordanian terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the most-wanted man in Iraq, took credit for three of the blasts....

Some Iraqis said they viewed Wednesday's attacks as a preview of the sustained violence expected until the elections.

"These attacks will increase until election day. Those people don't want us to live in peace," Hussam Abdul Khaliq, 23, said Wednesday morning outside a Baghdad hospital where he was looking for a neighbor wounded in one of the blasts.

The Baghdad attacks came the day before Eid, a Muslim holiday commemorating the story of Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son.

The first explosion came near the Australian Embassy at about 7 a.m. It sheared off pieces of the building and destroyed windows for blocks, including at the hotel that houses reporters for NBC News and Knight Ridder. In addition to two Iraqi deaths, two Australian soldiers were wounded.

The deadliest blast came about half an hour later near a police station and hospital, killing 18 and wounding 15. The hospital was hit particularly hard.

"There were only small pieces left of the car. Five other cars near it were totally destroyed. Every window in the hospital was shattered; every door was blown off its hinges," said Ali Abdul Rahman, a doctor at Al Wasiti hospital.

He said blood covered the hospital floor as the dead and wounded were brought in.

"Is this the right place to do an attack against the police or army? There are two hospitals here!" said Leila Hassan, 38, who works in one of them.

Shaking and pale, she said: "What kind of crazy people do attacks in the middle of two hospitals, one of them with women and new babies? What kind of jihad is this? Is it jihad against women and babies?"

Yes Leila, I’m afraid it is. This is typical behavior of anyone who believes in a totalitarian philosophy. The ends justify the means. Victory at any cost. Bringing Islamic government to Iraq is far more important than the lives of a few worthless women or babies. It is strange that you would even question this view. No good Muslim would.

“Your grandchildren (if they survive the jihad) will live in a free Iraq.”

Yes, the jihadists are so fearful of democracy taking root in Iraq and the Middle East that they happily terrorize the population by exploding bombs anywhere they can detonate them and use any place they like -- schools, hospitals or mosques -- as bomb factories and bunkers.

They are not resisting a "foreign occupier", primarliy they are Sunni and Ba'athist thugs from all over the ME engaging in a turf war for fear that the hated Shia will dominate the non-Kurdish regions.

“Your grandchildren (if they survive the jihad) will live in a free Iraq.”

Yeah, right.... about like they are free now in Iran. Remember, the Shia MAJORITY in Iraq has been clamouring for Sharia.

"What kind of jihad is this? Is it jihad against women and babies?"

Now you know how it feels for the woman and baby victims of Jihad in Israel, Kashmir, etc.

Why do they only complain about Jihad when it hits THEM? Remember the last time someone whined, "What kind of Jihad is this"? It was some puke in Saudi lamenting that only Saudi Muslims were killed.

I guess the conclusion is that Jihad is bad only when it kills other Muslims. Kind of like "Occupation" is only bad when it is some non-Muslims occupying a Muslim land.

What kind of Jihad is this?
As Abu Musab al-Zarqawi - he'll tell you.
This is a jihad against the polytheists. It doesn't matter if you are a Shiite or a Christian or a Jew, no one is safe from this jihad but the "salafist" holier-than-thous who have anointed themselves the representatives of the Almighty. It matters not whether you are a man, woman or child. The world is theirs to destroy as they see fit.

I don't remember any 'educated' Iraqis complaining when only coalition soldiers, Iraqi trainees or police were being blown up.

I guess that "kind of jihad" was okay.

What the doctors and nurses don't seem to grasp is that they, as 'professional' members of a corrupt society, need to be intimidated before the upcoming election. If the smartest members of the body politic can be cowed, the rest will be easier to get to fall in line.

Plus, they sew-together the cops and military victims of the violent jihad who don't die. Thus, are helping the 'evil infidels' achieve their un-Islamic goal of a 'democratic Iraq'.

Let 'em vote, then leave 'em to their horrors.

And tell them we'll be back HARDER if they get out of line in the future. (AKA: WMD's.)

A Sunni-Shia civil war will only whittle down the numbers of those who would attack the West later.

As Assurbanipal said to Tliglath-Pilesar:

"Babylon will be at war forever!"

Oh, that kind of jihad!

What kind of jihad is this?
This is a trick question as we all know that jihad means inner struggle, or as Omar Bakri Muhammed reminds us, "Jihad is.. also to look for a good job, to look for a better wife , to study...". Since this blowing up women and babies business can't be jihad it must be something else: new kind of worship? Islamic performing arts?

So Jihad is okay if IT ONLY KILLS INFIDEL WOMEN AND BABIES... Heaven knows there are enough of these dying around the world at this moment in Indonesia, Kashmir,Thailand, Phillipines, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Africa and Middle East ...'the lives of Infidels have no value and their goods are forfeit' [ to Jihadists]. Gee, what a spendid Religion for Criminals appealing to
THE WORST INSTINCTS IN MAN.

Profitsbeard is right when stating: "

I don't remember any 'educated' Iraqis complaining when only coalition soldiers, Iraqi trainees or police were being blown up.

I guess that "kind of jihad" was okay."

Yes, for them, it has never been a problem before...

Flawed policy begats flawed results as this e-mail from a Washington insider explains......

Dear Nostrodamus,

Earlier today, I voted in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee against the nomination of Dr. Condoleezza Rice for Secretary of State. This vote is an expression of my determination that we hold the Bush administration accountable.

Dr. Rice is a principal architect, implementer, and defender of a series of Administration policies that have not made our country as secure as we should be and have alienated much-needed allies in our common cause of winning the war against terrorism. Regrettably, I did not see in Dr. Rice's testimony before our committee any acknowledgment of the need to change course or of a new vision for America's role in the world.

On Iraq, on North Korea, on Iran, to name just a few of the most critical challenges, it seems to be more of the same. I hope I am proven wrong. I hope the course will change. And I hope that the Administration will recognize the strength of a foreign policy that has bipartisan support.

I am prepared to work with Dr. Rice and others in the Administration to try to reach agreement on policies that will truly strengthen our security and restore America's credibility on the world stage. And I am confident colleagues on both sides of the aisle are prepared to do so as well.

But, we've got to remain firm in our insistence that those who create policies that don't work have the courage to admit their mistakes and the wisdom to change course. Our johnkerry.com community has been expressing that determination in huge numbers.

Over 700,000 people have called on President Bush to fire Donald Rumsfeld as Secretary of Defense.

If you haven't signed the Rumsfeld petition, please do so immediately.

http://www.johnkerry.com/ReplaceRumsfeld

And, please forward the petition right now to friends and colleagues, urging them to join in this effort.

I know you share my strong convictions on the importance of holding the President and his Cabinet accountable. I pledge to you that I will not yield in this effort. Let's keep working together. America's future is at stake.

Sincerely,

John Kerry

I can calculate the motions of heavenly bodies, but not the madness of people.
