I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and believe he didn't know. A dumb jock, and a convert to Islam. Any stories I've read about converts have left me unimpressed with their intelligence. Perfect fodder for these "charities" to latch onto. And with him being famous, black and rich, he's a prime target for some taqiyya-artist. I'm sure they use taqiyya on their own, not just non-Muslims, if it's to advance Islam.

The way it's going with these so-called "charities" we keep hearing about , the authorities should just assume they're all terrorist-funding organizations. Yes, thanks, ala-sux, for the links. One part of me thinks that the Canadian media should stop giving those scumbags attention because they really are vomit-inducing. But then the other part of me says it's good to expose the absolute lunacy & bile of Islam. Regarding Omar Khadr and his mother's and grandmother's teary pleas on his behalf...

Last winter, around when his older brother returned to Canada, a psychologist asked that charges of child abuse be brought against his dear mamma, who said that the reason that she and her late terrorist husband removed the family to Afghanistan was so they wouldn't grow up to be homosexuals, etc., had they continued to live in Canada. Still they returned to Canada and demanded all sorts of things from the umpteenth replacement of Canadian passports (denied) to medical care at the expense of the government plan although they had lost their eligiblity having been out of the country for more than six months.

According to reports in today's Globe & Mail, newly released government records suggest that his complaints of torture are coached fabrications (and deemed typical conduct for detainees)and that while Omar is pretty thoroughly screwed in the head, this was not the result of anything that happened in Guantanamo, but rather the "nurturing" received from his family, granny included, "associates" in Afghanistan and fellow detainees in Gitmo.

Is Hakeem in Jordan to study Arab? Why didn't he go to Saudi Arabia to study the language?

He is from all reports I read, a "real" Muslim, a "good" Muslim. ie. he doesn't drink, doesn't let his wife enter their house through the front door! I read an article about how his wife could only enter their house through the back door.

It makes me wonder, is studying Arabic in Jordan part of being a good Muslim also?

Just another update on the Maher Arar case
where he claimed he was deported to Syria and tortured for over a year.

First off he was sent to Jordan(but CAIR uses Syria for dramatic effects)and not Syria as he claims,next he has produced no evidence of torture and since he read a scripted press release with his lwayer just weeks after returning to Canada I doubt he suffered any abuse since "Real" abuse needs extendsive counseling
just to review the events before even going public.

Oddly enough his free-lawyer while on welfare coached him and had filed a 400,000,000 dollar lawsuit against Canadians for his torture in Syria,CAIR failed to mention Arar fled Syria
for canada but still held dual citizenship and
had toured the middle east before returning to New York without his wife and children that were with him originally.
His wife had the nerve to run in the Federal Election last year and played the victim of Islamophobia,she ran for office while Maher was suing Canadians and the public wasn't told that upfront since she used another last name that distanced her from the husband.

CAIR has back another Muslims lawsuit against Canadians because the man was caught videoing our CN Tower that's the main transmission structure,and to boot he was filming one of our busiest Train Stations where four trains can be in the station at once. He filmed a few exteriors
of Subway Station and extensive interior angles,oh,and it was a Arab speaking passenger that reported the man since they saw the camera hidden inside a tote bag while he whispered to a man near by in Arabic to move around to block
the view of him from people on the platform.
The Muslim man is suing for 1.5 million dollars for damages and racial profiling that lead to the arrest in Egypt and his questioning upon return to Canada.
He said the video was for his kids in an Islamic school in Egypt since he sent them there from Canada to be educated by Muslims and they missed canada and wanted pictures.

I guess Postcards weren't good enough since they don't show a terrorist the whole area to be bombed.

Maybe after he learns Arabic he can read for himself what his precious "Prophet" thinks of black men like Hakeem. From what I've learned, they're not viewed very well in Islam, and then we've only to look at history to see how Islam treats people with dark skin. I'm sure that is left out of the proselytizing they do when they target black converts. But it always amazes me that they stay Muslim. Do they never find out? Or are they too afraid to leave, given Islam's hostility and vitriole towards those who abandon the cult?

Two places to begin with the Arab slave trade:

1) in Black Africa: Jan Hogedorn, "The Hideous Trade" and J. Willis, both mentioned in a previous posting (simply google "jihadwatch" and "Hogedorn"). Because the Arabs took young black Africans, and castrated them on the spot (rather than castrating them once they had reached the Muslim slave markets), a very large number of them died, after the operation, under primitive conditions, or being force-marched to those markets far away. Only about 10% of those castrated survived to be sold as slaves. Tens of millions of black Africans, far more than were taken in the Atlantic Slave Trade, were tkaen over the centuries by Arab slavers. This continued until the British suppressed the slave trade in East Africa (and the French in North Africa). But though slavery officially has been abolished, Arab Muslims in Sudan, Mali, and Mauritania are known to keep black Africans as slaves, and in Saudi Arabia itself, advertisments about swapping "Indian or other Asian girls" for "late model cars" indicate that slavery continues.

2) in Europe: "White Gold," a book by Giles Milton about the one million European slaves taken by Arab slavers over the centuries, brought back to dar al-Islam, enslaved, and converted.

Slavery is in the Qur'an and Hadith. Muhammad owned slaves. Therefore, slavery can never be regarded as wrong, even if it is politic to formally outlaw it. The Saudi clerics who recently insisted that slavery was part of the Shari'a, and could not be done away with, had Islamic teachings squarely on his side. One waits for some comment from Al-Azhar, or al-Qaradawi, or other clerics, to firmly declare that slavery is no longer to be tolerated.

That would be a small sign that some changes are afoot. That not even slavery can be denounced shows what the problem with Islam is all about -- even those who know what should be denounced cannot bring themselves to do it. Fear, filial piety, not wishing to provide any fodder for the hated Infidels by revealing that Islam has, until now, sanctioned slavery, may all explain the silence. There is no Muslim Wilberforce. No Muslim has ever denounced slavery as a moral wrong, in the history of Islam.
