What natural right does a man with this kind of record have to enter Canada? "Terrorist returns: Peter MacKay urges Ottawa to consider revoking citizenship," from the National Post, with thanks to Martin:
TORONTO - One of Canada's most notorious terrorist leaders has returned home to Montreal after serving four years in a French prison for his role in an international jihadist network.Fateh Kamel, a 44-year-old Algerian-Canadian who headed a Montreal-based extremist cell, arrived in Montreal on Jan. 29 aboard an Air France flight, sources told the National Post.
A charismatic shopkeeper who led a double life as the international terrorist operative "Moustapha," Kamel was dubbed the "Islamist Carlos" because of his remarkable exploits around the world.
"I am GIA," he once said in a conversation intercepted by Italian counter-terrorism investigators. GIA is the French acronym for the Algerian Armed Islamic Group. "Killing is easy for me."...
Captured in Jordan in 1999, Kamel was tried in Paris in 2001 and convicted for his involvement with terrorist groups. Although sentenced to eight years' imprisonment, he was released early for good behaviour. He has a Canadian wife and son.
Peter MacKay, the Conservative Party's deputy leader and public safety critic, urged the government to consider revoking Kamel's Canadian citizenship. Canada has used such tactics against Nazi war criminals.
"By all means we should be examining revocation, and certainly there is cause for the Canadian government, for our officials, to examine whether he was truthful at the time of his entry into this country," Mr. MacKay said.
"I have a real problem with us just saying we'll let bygones be bygones. I don't think most Canadians have much comfort level knowing that this convicted terrorist is now back in our country."
Peter MacKay for PM!
Groan!
Tell me this ain't so!
First they withdraw from the missile defense plan, now they allow a generous homecoming to convicted terrorists on good behaviour and humanitarian grounds...???
When's sanity gonna return from vacation?
Voletti:
When the Canadian leadership starts dealing with its enormous inferiority complex vis-a-vis the United States of America. Nothing makes sense in Canada unless you consider the desperate need of certain of its citizens to prove in any possible ways that they are somehow different from their mighty southern neighbour. Alas, this sort of pathology is easier to diagnose than to cure.
I am Canadian and I simply cannot understand why Canadians who voted for the Liberal Party of Canada can be so, shall we say, daft.
Peter McKay and Stephen Harper have a much better grasp on what's going on in the world.
Unfortunately, during the last election, it was American-style campaigning scare tactics, on the part of the Liberals, that defeated the Conservatives. Although not by much...the Liberals have a minority government.
British Columbians should be particularly aware of the terrorist threat--after all, one Ahmad Ressam--the guy who intended to blow up LAX in 1999--was apprehended not by Canadian authorities, but by the US Customs in Port Angeles, after hopping on the Coho ferry in Victoria!

A controversial Islamic scholar who has been barred from entering France and the United States, will be arriving in Ottawa later this week to speak at a Muslim symposium.
Tariq Ramadan, a professor of philosophy at the College of Geneva, will be attending Citizenship, Democracy and the Future of Islam, a three-part symposium that is being put on by the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Canada, Muslim Presence Ottawa and the Ottawa Police Service.
During the symposium, which begins on Thursday, Mr. Ramadan will be the keynote speaker on a panel discussing the challenges that face Muslims in the post-Sept. 11 world. He will also discuss ways that Canadian Muslims can participate in Canadian society while remaining loyal to their Islamic faith.
"This symposium is geared towards those who accept the challenges of the 'vivre-ensemble'," said Mr. Ramadan in a press release. "It will require self-criticism, dialouge, respect for diversity and an expression of common values -- the biggest challenge we face post 9/11."
Mr. Ramadan's thoughts and comments regarding both the conference and his talk to Ottawa police show the side of a man who is portrayed in a starkly different manner in the American media...
The professor had his American work visa revoked and was barred from entering the U.S. in July after a Department of Homeland Security investigation found that some of Mr. Ramadan's beliefs and previous comments were in violation of the Patriot Act, which was enacted in late 2001 to help protect the U.S. against terror threats…
It gets worse folks,Muslims Lawyers want to protect terrorist and war criminals from losing
citizenship for past crimes not reported on refugee or Immigration papers.

Islamic Congress Makes Submission to Federal Parliamentary Committee -- Calls for Charter Values to Be Reflected in Canadian Citizenship Laws
_________________________________________________
The Canadian Islamic Congress is calling for Charter values to be reflected in any changes or additions to the citizenship laws of Canada. The CIC made a submission on behalf of Canadian Muslims before the House Committee on Citizenship regarding the new citizenship bill due to be tabled in the current session of Parliament. The CIC position paper was presented by Khurrum Awan, an Osgoode Hall Law School student and current CIC Foundation scholarship recipient.
* In its submission to the Committee, CIC reiterated its strong position that the revocation and annulment of citizenship powers that were part of Bill C-18 (the most recent citizenship bill) violated equality rights enshrined in the Charter of Right and Freedoms. The power to revoke such rights, applying exclusively to naturalized Canadians, discriminates between them and non-naturalized (born here) Canadians, thus consigning naturalized Canadians to the status of second-class citizens.
* The CIC submitted that the vesting of powers related to security certification and revocation of citizenship in the federal cabinet is inconsistent with the principles of fundamental justice and rule of law, as laid out in the Charter. This vesting of powers in the executive, rather than judicial, branch of the state is inconsistent with the system of checks and balances that have evolved as an essential component of Canada’s democratic system. These powers (if any) must lie with the courts, and with full right of appeal.
* The CIC submitted that the denial of citizenship powers based on the vague criteria of previous bills represents a further violation of rule of law and Charter principles. The vagueness of criteria on which citizenship could be denied creates uncertainty and could permit the denial of citizenship due to political reasons, rather than transparent legal grounds.
* The CIC submitted that revocation of citizenship powers raises significant access-to-justice concerns for those Canadians whose citizenship status is threatened. Most naturalized Canadians are unable to afford legal services, particularly when legal proceedings may last for several years. It is possible that naturalized Canadians may have their citizenship revoked, not because they have committed a substantive wrong, but because they are unable to afford the justice of the Canadian court system.
* The CIC submitted that the annulment, security certification, and denial of citizenship powers with minimal legal protection reflects legislative trends that have become increasingly common in recent years. Examples of such powers include the Anti-Terrorism Act and the Public Safety Act. The cumulative impact of such legislation represents a serious erosion of civil liberties and due process.
* Finally, the CIC submitted that current citizenship laws and subsequent proposals for reform are contrary to the multicultural character and texture of Canadian society. Unequal laws that discriminate on the basis of national origin and treat naturalized Canadians as second-class citizens, also promote segregation across nationalistic and ethnic lines and are inconsistent with the values that we desire to protect and promote as Canadians.

The C.I.C. and CAIR-Canada are the 2 proponents
demanding "Sharia-Law" for female Muslims in Canada,Dr.Elmasry is the idiot that said"All Israelis over 18 are valid target for murder by suicide bombers because of the State Army policy"
and he denied it later even though the TV show was re-aired and proved he opined on this call to murder Iraelis(codeword for "The JEWS" by the more Educated Muslims.) and two weeks after his statement from late October a Palestinian suicide bomber blew himselp up in a civilain marketplace
and killed those Israelis over 18.
Good job Mohamed,Allah is pleased and you'll finally have sex with a woman when you go to paradise with the othe Mohamed that had sex with a 9 yearold child.
As the sad Italian proverb says:
"Al peggio non c'e' mai fine"
- there is always a worse than the worst you know.
ala-sux, of course an Islamic group would be demanding such dangerous changes to the citizenship laws of Canada. Afterall, they know that their particular group would be especially affected by this. I'm sure most of them lie when they apply for asylum or immigration. And there's a good chance that quite a few from their group will be just like this Kamel scum. They want to ensure they can always use and abuse Canada's generosity and laws to leech off when they get into trouble overseas. Like the Khadr parasites.
Good for Peter MacKay. He's a sign that not all Canadians are blind to the threat of Islam in their country. But the ruling Liberals are another story. They went off the deep end decades ago.
As a Canadian, the reader needs to know that the current federal Liberal government is a minority government. The views expressed by the current Prime Minister do not necessarily reflect the views of the populace. The current PM is snake-like who is a champion at equivocation and dithering. He "leads" by polls, not by commitment. He won't last long, as we expect to have an election within the next 12 months.
Many Canadian are well-informed about the deceit and taqiyya in Islam. The Islamic emperor has no clothes. Sooner or later, the liberal media will have to admit that they were blinded to the truth, in their mis-guided attempt to be "tolerant". When this happens (and it will, eventually), Islam will be dissected to reveal its inner nature. However, it will take a courageous journalist/network to probe deeply, as we have ample proof, that they will be accused of slandering the name of Mohammed...and you know what the punishment is for this.
