New disclosures on the New Jersey murders from Maria Sliwa in the New York Sun, including information from Hossan Armanious' father-in-law that the family's jewelry was not taken:
Anies Garas, whose daughter, Amal, was among the victims, told me: "The police have vouchered all of the jewelry," he said. "None of it was taken. In fact, my daughter was still wearing a ring worth $3,500 after she was murdered." Mr. Garas says that though a small amount of money was taken, no valuables were removed from the house.When Michael Meunier, the president of the U.S. Copts Association, met with the prosecutor last week he expressed serious concerns about the progress of the investigation. "The prosecutor told me that robbery was no longer the focus and acknowledged that this was the worst murder he has ever seen," Mr. Meunier said. "He told me he believes it was a vengeful crime."
Many Copts fear that New Jersey officials are caving in to pressure from Islamic lobby groups and the Egyptian government in order to "whitewash" this investigation. One of them, Rafique Iscandar, told me that he is fearful that investigators will discount the possibility that the murders were committed by radical Islamists who want to intimidate Christians in the United States, as they do in Egypt.

This is a very well written article by Ms. Sliwa. She touches on a point not made by other articles that I have seen, namely that Islamic organizations are putting pressure on the legal authorities to make the case go away. Other articles seem to be obsessed only with the feelings of the local Muslim groups, and not very concerned about the Copts, except to mention that there has been trouble between the two groups. I have also heard that CAIR opened up an local office just handle this case. They know much would be exposed, besides the murderers, if the killers were found. They must really be worried about damage control.
Compared to those 'pathetic eurodhimmis', America to us was always different - with a large, vibrant gun-owning, G_d-fearing, military-respecting, children-bearing population. America stood tall and proud in epitomising western culture and values and represented the vanguard of western civilizational achievements.....

The outcome of this obscure case in one obscure corner in America will ultimately determine whether in the years to come America will cave in or not in moral and civilzational terms like europe has already done.

The growth of islamic terrorist cells throughout western Europe was evident (as the Hamburg al-Qaeda cells known to German authorities years before the occurrence of 9-11 attest to) before Bush was elected in 2000, as was EU laxness in handling them. The large-scale arrests of islamic terrorists and thugs is a recent phenomenon.
You state that the perception that Europe has been lax in dealing with Islamic terror cells is a "Bushist line." This may be a "Bushist line"... But it's also an Orianni Fallacci line as well-- as she made perfectly clear in her best-selling book "The Rage and the Pride" where she vented her rage at European authorities over their (to her) spectacular failure to contain the growth of Islamic terror cells on European soil. This book was written BEFORE the US-led invasion of Iraq and proves that your Bush theory is hot air.
What you fail to see is that the United States did not let tens of milions of these people into its territory upon demand as did the EU--and continues to do so. Europe is NOT going to be able to stop imminent islamization on account of the demographic explosion occurring withing its territorial limits, hence the nickname "Eurabia". At last count Europe contained about 16,000,000 Muslims with a population doubling time of twenty years or less; England's Islamic population has increased by over 500% over the past three decades. But worse, Europe has failed to realize that Islamic teachings are the SOURCE of Islamic terorism. As the Quranic passage states, "slay the infidels everywhere, besiege them..." we see that homicide is endemic to Islamic ideology--it is at the core of Islamic beliefs and cannot be excised. This is not an issue to be dealing in one-upsmanship on. It is far too important.
In England as we speak, there are laws being drafted that compromise basic freedoms of speech and expression that appears designed to placate Islamic activists. These are in no way, shape, or form DEMOCRATICALLY formed laws. And such legislation will benefit primarily the jihadists and their conquest of the west. Me any EU officials are actually courting such Islamists actively. It is THIS type of behavior among European governing officials that is creating concern among Americans not "Bushist lines."
As for America, there are far less Muslims here than in Europe so there aren't going to be quite so many Islamic terrorists and gangsters in its prisons. We had the sense not to let them in on such a vast scale that this would prove necessary. However, the US Government isn't talking at the moment. How do you know how many Muslims ARE in US prisons anyway? There's probably a lot more than you think...
