Peace will never come to Israel so long as the koran is the only policy making document in the arab/muslim world - Jihad is the foreign policy of the musilm/arab world, if they can get away with it.
Israel is in a precarious place - geographically, strategically and politically. The US is its only supporter, and that support is getting weaker and more conditional, as muslim populations in the US increase year on year. Consequently Israel's strategic position is going to get worse with time. Israel needs to think fast.

Can one imagine the reaction if this type of atrocity had occurred in central London? If an IRA bomber had killed and wounded dozens of innocents queueing outside a nightclub in Chelsea or Soho, Tony Blair would immediately terminate all discussions on power-sharing in Northern Ireland. The British public would insist that the "political" wing of the IRA be denied until all violence is ended and weapons stockpiles destroyed. If the bomber had been an Islamist, the Home Secretary would be asserting Britain's right to arrest and detain -- without charge -- dozens of Muslims suspected of terrorist connections. BBC reporters would be frothing at the mouth using the "T" word to describe the despicable behaviour of those who threaten British citizens with violence.
Oh silly me -- the British government, public, and press already hold these positions and there hasn't been a terrorist attack in the UK for years. Barbara not-unexpectedly finds the prisoner issue an "emotive" one and suggests that "most Palestinians have either been in jail or know someone who has, during Israel's 38-year occupation of their land". But no mention of the thousands of Israeli innocents murdered and maimed with the assistance of these prisoners. Or of the unbearable loss and pain of the families of the victims. Just another average day of Arab propaganda at the BBC.

Israel doesn't stand a prayer's chance in hell in a world where organisations like amnesty international, International Red Cross, YWCA/YMCA, World Council of Churches turn their collective backs on her in her hour(s) of need and "condemns" her policies and government with a flick of the dismissive hand. With friends like those (and several others worldwide), who needs enemies?
Barely a fortnight after the Sharm el-Sheikh Summit (hosted by Egypt’s President and attended by the King of Jordan) of Israel’s PM and the new “Palestinian” President - at which a total, mutual CEASE-FIRE was supposed to’ve been concluded between them - a “Palestinian” terrorist yesterday blew himself up outside a crowded club on Tel-Aviv’s beachfront, killing four persons there and wounding at least fifty more.
The Israeli Government’s initial reactions were to swoop on his town and arrest several of the suicide-homicide bomber’s associates and to warn that cutting deals with terrorists is FUTILE, reminding the PA that a primary part of the “Road-Map”, which Israel and “Palestine”’ve both agreed to, demands not the sealing of “hudnas” with terrorists, but the prompt DISMANTLING of their infastructures, in detail. Israel’s official spokesman strongly reiterated that if the PA doesn’t undertake the job and discharge it adequately, then Israel’d be forced - again - to do it.
Meanwhile, the media’s back to its old, Oslo-era tricks of stating: “Israel ought to bear utmost restraint, in light of the relatively small number of casualties this time” and “this is an isolated incident, not worthy of rash Israeli reactions, which could spoil the moves toward peace”.
Prudently, the benefit of the doubt shouldn’t be extended more than once to an adversary; over the decades, the “Palestinians”’ve worn it out through gross and shameless abuse. But if this Arab attack was TRULY an “isolated” event, then it should be THE LAST EVER deed of “Palestinian” violence - and if it is, and when (in a bit of time) this becomes evident as dry FACT, then, obviously, no further self-protective, Israeli counter-action is warranted.
But if these are NOT THE FINAL murders, if violence continues as an integral component of “Palestinian” strategy, Israel’ll have NO CHOICE but to accelerate the erection of its security-barrier and - into the future - to resume its schedule of commando-raids and armoured incursions, surgical missile-strikes, targeted executions, demolitions, etc, on the other side of it, whenever the need for such defensive operations is called for by ongoing Arab terror-assaults.
Jihad Islami and the el-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade, who’d each earlier taken bold “credit” for these killings, some hours later denied any role whatsoever in them, as did Hezbollah. But, as Mr Benyamin Netanyahu repeated, “they always LIE”. Anyway, in the wash-up, it’s immaterial which terror-gang perpetrated this atrocity: what COUNTS is whether the PA abides by its obligations in the “Road-Map”, specifically and initially vis-à-vis eliminating its terrorism.
If it does effectively and urgently address this IMPERATIVE, the opportunity for a proper peace is greatly enhanced, a necessary, preliminary measure of the essential element of trust being duly forged. This can indeed lead to highly positive, concrete, reciprocal benefits for Israelis and for “Palestinians”, plus for people across the tormented Middle East and North Africa.
However, even if the PA does NOT satisfactorily fulfil its basic “Road-Map” responsibilities, then a “Nation of Palestine” nonetheless DOES retain the chance - in the medium term - of being formally established as an independent, sovereign political entity (thanks largely to the stubborn bloody-mindedness and sheer, purblind prejudice of the appeasement-happy EU). Indubitably, it’ll be elevated immediately to Full Membership in the UN, doubtless by strident acclamation.
But, fundamentally, it’ll be an irredentist, innately Terrorist State - of which the Arena requires NO EXTRA examples. - To the contrary; rationally, the quantity of them should be SHRUNK!
How best to tackle the possible, imminent PLUNGE in Mideast peace-stocks - considering the parallel volatility in Lebanon and a growing potential for instability in Syria itself, together with the concomitant international heat coming down on rapidly-nuclearizing Iran?
Accompanied by the perennial of “Palestine”, Lebanon, Syria and Iran, in a row - in 2005 - could well constitute additional (refreshed) theatres in the sorely-mistitled “War on Terror”, beyond the “normal”, contemporary, Islamist insurrections within Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Yemen, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt, and the Wars being fought out in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The premise of the disengagement plan is that there is no peace process and there is no peace partner. If Israel feels that it has a peace partner in the Palestinian Authority, Israel should not be unilaterally evacuating Jewish communities. Doing so would be a terrible negotiating strategy, as Israel is receiving nothing in return. Yet if Israel feels that it does not have a peace partner in the Palestinian Authority, Israel cannot continue to pretend that Abbas is someone who Israel can do business with.
Israel cannot have it both ways, and it's time to choose one or the other (or think of a third option).
Phony conferences, so-called goodwill gestures, and false optimism only lead to dead Jews. If the Israeli government won't say it, who will?
For the record: above I predict something that just a few days ago, seemed improbable, that Jews or 'Israel' (the surrogate Jew) would be blamed for this attack 'if the soup got too hot'.
Well, Israel will be presenting evidence to EU diplomats that Syria was involved in this bombing, and, according to the BBC, which I do not trust, but this seems like descriptive reporting:
"Syrian Foreign Minister's Faruq al-Shara repeated strong denials that Syria was involved.
He described Israel's accusation as "baseless" and added that he could not rule out "Israeli fingers" being involved in the blast."
So, there you have it. It only took a few days. Israel has been accused of murdering its own citizens.
