About 350 Palestinian gunmen will be incorporated into the Palestinian Authority security forces soon as part of a deal reached between PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and leaders of all the Palestinian factions, The Jerusalem Post has learned.The militiamen, who are on Israel's list of wanted terrorists, belong to various factions, including Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
This is the first time that members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad would serve in the PA security forces....
"The fugitives who will join the security forces belong to all the Palestinian groups and factions," Naja said. "The move is designed to protect them against Israeli assassination attempts."
Can we expect them to appointed to the Board of Directors at CAIR and speak at Schools and Churches on the Peaceful ways of Muhammed and Islam?

Sharon has become a despot who refuses to put his mad plan to a referendum. Some believe he is suffering from senile dementia; others, that he has always combined great skill in combat with utter foolishness in everything else. But what explains the pusillanimity, and the repeated will to believe, of so many in the Israeli government? Why do they not listen clearly either to the head of the Shin Bet, Dichter, or to General Ya'alon about the rashness and the dangers Sharon is causing?
And why does not the American government, which takes such apparent pleasure in Sharon's idiocy, permit this? Assisted suicide is not advisable in this case -- if Israel further retreats (while Abbas, and of course Mubarak, smile and sound plausible for -- oh, at least a year or two, while American aid is pocketed, and the American government sufficiently inveigled into the "Palestinian" and Arab and Muslim insistence that "if only" more is given everything will calm down all over, before the "issue" of "Jeruslaem" or some other tripwire such as the "right of return" is brought up, and the Israelis, disabused yet again, but now with nothing left to give, will be put in the position of standing in the way of that Permanent Peace Kant dreamt off way back in 1795.
When Palestinians finally get their status of "Statehood" it will default to a "Terrorist producing nation" and be subject to sanctions
and a cutting of of foreign aid which is in the billions.
They will rue the day they let Islamists speak for them and demand freedom through violence and murder,Hamas and their ilk won't stop at the middle east,they are on a crusade to wipe out the Jews and Israel to scare infidels into submission
to Allah or die by the sword.
What's the difference?
PA Security Forces, Militias, Hamas, Fatah, Islamic Jihad, Abu Sayaf, Mujaheddin, Al Queada: All one and the same thing!

Aside from the incredible drain on the Israeli economy and forces, who do you think is pushing Sharon in this direction? The French?
I don't think Sharon is senile. I suspect he knows full well that the Palestinians will behave as they have in the past and that will give him the moral right to hit them full bore and, all the while, remind the world that he gave them land for peace, but that's clearly never enough for people who aren't interested in peace.
