Four Iraqi National Guard members kidnapped. From AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
The militants on a tape obtained by Associated Press Television News say that they're planning to "punish" the men for being traitors against their own people....Although the speaker says a group called "Battalions of Holy Jihad in Iraq" is holding the hostages, he also warns terrorism leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi will determine the soldiers' fates.

RS:
Why do you use the term 'militant' when we all at JW know very well that the word 'terrorist' (or better still - islamofascist, islamoterrorist, jihadi) would better fit context?
They have got it wrong, It is the militants that are the traitors to the Iraqi people.
The amazing and brave turnout by the Iraqi people voting on January 30th demonstrates and speaks very loud volumns as to how they feel. Even the Sunnis wanted to vote and an estimated nearly 40 PCT. of them did, but many where to afraid to because many of the militant factions are Sunnis.
Hopefully the Allawi Government will correct the terrible travesty committed by the Kurds to the Assyrian Christains along with some other tribal factions before the next voting process by clearly building the right of all Iraqis` to vote into their constitution.
In light of the above it alludes me why the Iraqi people are not doing more to help our troops against the 'insurgent' Jihadis.
