Oregon: Muslim asks FBI to explain remark on jihadists

"The leader of Bilal Mosque group says comments by the agent in charge in Oregon have set back fence-mending." So now even to suggest that jihadists are operating somewhere is "anti-Muslim." Needless to say, such an attitude makes adequate defense against the jihad absolutely impossible. From The Oregonian, with thanks to Michelle:

A prominent Portland-area Muslim leader has asked the top FBI agent in Oregon to explain his recent remarks about the presence of jihad-trained fighters in the state.

In an e-mail Monday to Robert Jordan, special agent in charge of the FBI in Oregon, Shahriar Ahmed, president of the Bilal Mosque Association in Beaverton, wrote he was "shocked" to hear Jordan say there are people in Oregon who have trained in terrorist camps in Afghanistan.

In his remarks, Jordan said: "We have people here in Oregon that have trained in jihadist camps in bad areas. In the bad neighborhoods of the world." He added that the FBI knows "they've trained overseas, taken oaths to kill Americans and engage in jihad," but the challenge is "to prove those things."

Jordan, through his spokeswoman, has refused to explain his remarks. Beth Anne Steele, the FBI spokeswoman in Oregon, said Monday that Jordan planned to respond to Ahmed's letter privately....

Ahmed said Jordan's comments have dealt a setback to efforts to mend ties between federal law enforcement officials and local Muslims, an already fragile relationship damaged by the botched Brandon Mayfield case last year.

Mayfield, an attorney and Muslim, was detained as a material witness for two weeks in connection with the deadly train bombing in Madrid, Spain. Federal officials had linked him to the terror attack through a fingerprint, which they later said they had misidentified. Mayfield is suing the federal government over his detention.

Ahmed, who has been a vocal supporter of Jordan and his efforts to repair relations with Muslims, said the agent's comments were "so out of character."

"He has been very cautious in what he has said," Ahmed said.

Ahmed said the remark damaged the image of Muslims. In his e-mail to Jordan, Ahmed writes that he thought Muslims had "communicated to you the affect such comments have, especially from law enforcement, in making our lives, those of our wives who wear the head scarf, the lives of our children, especially our daughters who wear the head scarf in school, extremely difficult."

Of course Ahmed would like to silence critics and those in the know. He believes that he can coerce and manipulate to the point that law enforcement are de facto dhimmis and ready to implement the Muslim policies and silence Muslim critics.

The cries of racism, bigotry, and persecution can't be used in the face of truth. I hope that Jordan does not suffer for the telling of it.

Ahmed writes that he thought Muslims had "communicated to you the affect such comments have, especially from law enforcement, in making our lives, those of our wives who wear the head scarf, the lives of our children, especially our daughters who wear the head scarf in school, extremely difficult."

I was unaware that the FBI was supposed to refrain from uttering the mildest, vaguest, and most obvous of remarks becuase it might make "the lives" of some Muslims "difficult." Should one also refrain from reading, or alluding to, the more than 100 verses in the Qur'an that pertain to Jihad? Should one pretend that Sura 9, for example, simply does not exist, or that Muslims in Oregon for some reason -- perhaps the weather in the Pacific Northwest -- are unusually capable of ignoring Sura 9 and the rest? What if the FBI agent had noted the hundreds of Hadith that inculcate hatred of Infidels? No doubt the more Infidels find out about that, the "more difficult" life may become for Mr. Ahmad, his wife (wives?), his children.

Is that what it has come down to? We should ignore reality, ignore what is in Qur'an and Haidth and Sira (should we all be very quiet about Aisha picking up her toys and moving to Muhammad's house, where he demurely waited until she was nine to have sexual intercourse with her? Is that off-limits? And what about the fact that Muhammad asked aloud for the murder of Asma bint Marwan, the poetess, or of Abu Afak (see Muir's reprinted "Life of Mahomet," pp. 249 ff. for details, beginning with "Many weeks did not elapse before another foul mureer was commiteed by the express command of Mahomet.")? Should these not be mentioned, or the slaughter of the Bani Qurayza prisoners, or the attack on the Jewish farmers of the Khaybar Oasis?

Which Hadith may we refer to? Which Qur'an shall we read or allude to? Mr. Ahmad really has to answer these questions.

He appears to think that we can learn about Islam only what smiling spokesmen, imams, and apoologists of all sorts (especially those with tenure) wish to tell us. And he wishes to prevent even the circumspect remarks of the FBI agent, Mr. Jordan, whom apparently must clear everyting he says about Muslims with -- Muslim spokesmen.

All this little episode tells us is that Mr. Ahmad himself is, in his attempt to prevent even the mildest statement (was it the word "Jihad" that did it? What was it, exactly, that so offended him?).

The more people learn about the teachings of Islam, the history of Islam, the effect of Islam on the intellectual and moral development (or rather: Arrested Development) of the lands and peoples that were conquered by Islam, the more they will be horrified.

Sorry, Mr. Ahmad. We simply will not stop informing ourselves. And if anything, the FBI must be far more willing to articulate the problem -- and to sponsor the works of inside agents, in the manner of John Roy Carlson, who infiltrated pro-Nazi groups during World War II, and then published his unforgettable "Under Cover."

That is what is needed: a hundred books like "Under Cover."

Sorry, Mr. Ahmad, that you demand the right to censor speech that is intelligently meant to alert us. You would no doubt like to mimic Crown Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, who back in November 1979, in an interview to the Jordanian newspaper Al-Rai, said that the Saudis "would have liked to buy up the world's media." They did fairly well in buying up a large group of Western hirelings -- diplomats, journalists, C.I. A. agents -- and for decades the reality of Saudi Arabia (a reality which, while discovered only recently, was always there, for those who had eyes to see, and were, like J. B. Kelly, unafraid to speak the truth about that monstrous and monstrously primitive country, presented as "America's staunch ally" by ARAMCO and its well-paid fellow-travellers).

In the same way, the pious appeals to interfaith understanding, the Pluralism Project, the academic promoters of carefully-expurgated Qur'ans (Michael Sells), the anti-American and antisemitic pushers, in universities, of a curriculum that will carefully avoid any serious study of what Islam teaches, or of Jihad or dhimmitude (which is to say, 90% of the membership of MESA Nostra), are all falling on ears, not deaf, but all too keen in their hearing.

And what they hear is what is in Qur'an, Hadith, and Sira, as believed and acted upon, for - what is it now? -- 1350 years, or perhaps, given recent research on the early history of Qur'an, only 1250 years?

Mr. Ahmad respectfully requests the right to censor American officials, and it goes without saying all others, so that nothing negative may even in the most circumspect way be said about Islam. For that might make his life or that of his family "more difficult."

Sorry. No can do.
No can do.

Explain yourself, dhimmi. The air of superiority comes through, I hope the FBI tells him where to stick it.

Hey, Spike, news flash: 9-11 made life hard for Muslims.

Hope FBI/Portland doesn't even respond to his complaint.

No Islam, Know Peace.
No 9-11, No 5000 lb daisy cutters. (PS: If you are on the receiving end of USAF package express -- they're like FedEx, only the packages are larger -- ENJOY)

I wish Muslims and their apologists would stop trotting out Mr. Mayfield as if there were ABSOLUTELY no reason to suspect him of being an extremist supporter of Islam. One of his daughters is named Sharia, for goodness sake. What a cute name!

Hmmm. The truth "damages" the image of Islam?

" Ahmed said the remark damaged the image of Muslims. Oh, gee, I'm sorry -- law enforcement should shut the hell up about the treachery and deviousness of Islamists so you and your sleeper family can be "more comfortable"?

Picture this: A whole segment of informed Americans climbing up the highest mountain with a freaking bullhorn, opportunistically shouting from the rooftops the threat of Islamists in our country, in our neighborhoods, in our backyards ... For our grandchildren, for the Armanious family, FOR the innocent wiped out by the knuckle dragging RoP!

DO YOU HEAR US AHMED!!!

Mr. Jordan should know we support him and thank him for making the public aware of the existence of these jihadists on American soil. There are more important things in this country (i.e. our safety and right to know) than Mr. Ahmed's feelings.

Mike: Thank you for pointing out something that we can do to encourage our g-men to continue the good fight. I doubt they get many positive responses to refute CAIR and other muslim apologists.

This then is the problem with many of the Muslims in America today.

They thread into here with on the welcome mat, and before you know it, they're demanding more rights then all the other True Americans who's families have been here for generations.

Ironic that the Portland Police Dept have a reputation for shooting first & asking questions later, and they seem to have no Problem shooting & stereotyping Blacks, Whites, or Hispanics in this area, but the minute they think the person maybe Muslim, why they're just as polite and one can be.

Now, the socialist drip who's weaseled his way up to chief of the PD Police is also screaming foul at the FBI for being discriminatory to Muslims by investigating some to begin with, so he's decided that Portland will no longer participate or cooperate with homeland security & the FBI.

Grounds to cut of all Federal Funds if you ask me. – But the point is that now we all live with a possible threat to our lives here, just so MR. 'I'm deep into the pockets of oil money,' can protect the Muslims who's rights he places above the rest of Americans.

However, we can alleviate this problem by booting all these bums out of office next time they talk about how much they've done for us disenfranchised Citizens on Election day.

A suspect is a suspect, and deserves to be investigated, Muslim or not. - The day these ungrateful immigrants can silence the rest of America, is the day will all be laying Praise to Allah.
