Ostrich Authorities Deny Domestic Terrorism

A scorching article by Daniel Pipes at FrontPage (thanks to EPG) shows a disturbing pattern that law enforcement officials have yet to notice. He recounts the strange details of the Armanious murders, but there is much more:

This attitude of denial fits an all-too-common pattern. I have previously documented a reluctance in nearby New York City to see as terrorism the 1994 Brooklyn Bridge (“road rage” was the FBI’s preferred description) and the 1997 Empire State Building shootings (“many, many enemies in his mind,” said Rudolph Giuliani). Likewise, the July 2002 LAX murders were initially dismissed as “a work dispute” and the October 2002 rampage of the Beltway snipers went unexplained, leaving the media to ascribe it to such factors as a “stormy [family] relationship.”

These instances are part of a yet-larger pattern.

· The 1990 murder of Rabbi Meir Kahane by the Islamist El Sayyid A. Nosair was initially ascribed by the police to “a prescription drug for or consistent with depression.”

· The 1999 crash of EgyptAir 990, killing 217 – by a co-pilot not supposed to be near the aircraft’s controls at that time who eleven times repeated “I rely on God” as he wrenched the plane down – went conspicuously unexplained by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).

· The 2002 purposeful crash of a small plane into a Tampa high-rise by bin Laden-sympathizer Charles Bishara Bishop went unexplained; the family chimed in by blaming the acne drug Accutane.

· The 2003 murder and near-decapitation in Houston of an Israeli by a former Saudi friend who had newly become an Islamist found the police unable to discern “any evidence” that the crime had anything to do with religion.

Nor is this a problem unique to American authorities. Other examples include:

· The 1993 attack on foreign guests dining at the Semiramis Hotel in Cairo, killing five, accompanied by the Islamist cry “Allahu Akbar,” inspired the Egyptian government to dismiss the killer as insane.

· The 2000 attack on a bus of visibly Jewish schoolchildren near Paris by a hammer-wielding North African yelling “You’re not in Tel-Aviv!” prompted police to describe the assault resulting from a traffic incident.

· The 2003 fire that gutted the Merkaz HaTorah Jewish secondary school in a Paris suburb, requiring 100 firefighters to douse the flames, was described by the French minister of interior as being merely of “criminal origin.”

· The 2004 murder of a Hasidic Jew with no criminal record as he walked an Antwerp street near a predominantly Muslim area left the Belgian authorities stumped: “There are no signs that racism was involved.”

I have cited thirteen cases here and provide information on further incidents on my weblog. Why this repeated unease acknowledging Islamist terrorism by the authorities, why the shameful denial?

Read it all.

"why the shameful denial?"

Myabe it's because Muslims themselves are in deep denial and are leading our government and law enforcement agencies down the same garden path. They go willingly, because if they allow themselves to recognize the true nature of the problem, it will be a bit too scary, and nobody wants to be afraid.

denial, denial, denial leads to appeasement, appeasement, appeasement

I know, let's give the terrorists money to "retire"! That'll work.

Appeasement can only postpone the day of reckoning. Shameful.

"Why this repeated unease acknowledging Islamist terrorism by the authorities, why the shameful denial?"

Well, my take is that the biggest reason non-dhimmis hesitate to label islamoterror as 'jihad' is that once you go acrpss that point of no return, then the only, logically consistent option left to you are to take on the islamic bull (sh*t) by the horns and wrestle it into the ground i.e. declare open and total war upon expansionist, militant, political islam.

The entire facade of pretending 'moderate moslems' might get caught in the crossfire (hiss boo) will be torn down in one fell swoop. Then, like the world ultimately confronted Hitler for what he really was, we'll have no option but to engage in open war and fight till the bloody end.

Any wonder the squeamish are scared?

The feds need to be prodded......dont want to call a devil a devil.

Could someone re-post the contacts to d.a. and all others on this again please?

If these were bikers the feds would be on it with RICO charges for everyone.

Should islam be considered a corrupt organization?...me thinks yes.....lets get crackin' guys.

Maybe they're in denial... ...or maybe they are being extremely careful about what they say so that if this case ever comes to a murder trial, the defence can't screech that his client was pre-judged in the matter. The last thing a prosecutor would want to have to deal with is media headlines screaming that the perps had to have been Muslims engaged in ritual killing of unbelievers.

Maybe the American police and security groups are being controlled by the PC Police as in Britain where the "Asian Gangs" are running loose?

Seems the an anology can be drawn.

What is strange is while Mueller (FBI) is cosying up to Muslims groups his outfit goes out on sting operations against AIPAC with nary a jot, after some time, to show in court.

On 3/1/94, there was another jihadi attack in NYC. In this case, it was a busload of Yeshiva students crossing the Brooklyn Bridge that was targeted by a 'brave' muslim, with Ari Halberstam being the sacrifice made to the moongod. The shooter, Rashid Baz, was a Druze from Lebanon who converted to islam. Baz entered the US on a student visa and never left. Orignally, the FBI called the attack a case of "road rage." It wasn't until 2000 that the attacked was rightly called terrorism. There's a lesson here for Hudson County officials to remember when doing their investigation into the murders of the Armanious family.

From the Ari Halberstam Memorial web page: "On December 1, 1994, Rashid Baz was convicted of one count of second-degree murder and 14 counts of attempted murder, one for each of the surviving students in the van. On January 18, 1995, he was sentenced to 141 years in prison for the attack."

Intresting. It does seem to be a pattern. As I said elsewhere, in most European countries the prosecuting authorities do not seem afraid to go after Muslim crime and terror, perhaps because they have got used to Turkish and Albanian mafia and people smugglers. In America there seems to be a real cultural resistance among legal personnel towards recognizing Muslim violence.

Mind you, it is not universal. A few days ago, a female public prosecutor in Milan by the name of Forleo set free a group of people who had been soliciting volunteers for Iraq on the grounds that what was happening in Iraq was guerrilla, not terrorism. But another public prosecutor in the neighbouring city of Brescia immediately ordered their re-arrest on charges of terrorism, with a charge sheet that sounded like a stinging rebuke to Forleo. At the same time, Forleo is preparing - with the loud support of the left-wing newspaper LA REPUBBLICA - to sue a number of ministers, politicians and public figures from the ruling party, for criticizing her dhimmi notions. In the case of LA REPUBBLICA, it is clear that the most crude political posturing is all that this amounts to. You need not fear dhimmitude: they just hate the Berlusconi government so much that they will support any enemy of theirs. If their own left-wing coalition had been in power, they would certainly have treated Forleo as she deserves. But one has to wonder about Forleo herself. She reminds me of a fortunately extinct kind of appeal judge which once used to find every possible excuse to strike down verdicts against the Mafia. Of course, it was found later that these judges were being paid handsomely by the Mafia itself for their services. Who knows, perhaps Forleo is not really a dhimmi or a moron; perhaps she is just a person with an eye to the main chance.

"Law enforcement seems more concerned to avoid an anti-Muslim backlash than to find the culprits."

That anti-Muslim backlash that they fear so much--from Bush running to a mosque where he stood in his socks right after 9-11 to cowardly prosecurors and cops--is going to come, much sooner and far more lethal than if they did what they're paid to do to keep the country secure. PC pussyfooting around might postpone but will not spare those that seek to set up an Islamic America.

In 1996, one of my Naval reservists who worked for DIA as a civilian was knifed in the back outside her hotel in Egypt. She was not on orders or in uniform. She died of her wounds. Her murder drew some local attention in WDC, but it was quickly determined by the Egyptian authorities that her murderer was "insane." Uh-huh.

longtimelurker:

It appears to be the standard excuse: 'insane' . Or as in another case 'road rage'- but in the case of meir kahane again: ' insane'. 1996, wasn't that the same year when the Jihadis ran through Luxor killing scores of (50 to 60) western tourists shouting 'Allahu Akhbar?"

With all this insanity, shouldn't we call for an investigation into the root causes of what causes this 'Insanity'? Is it possible to take some preventive measures and lock away these people who are afflicted with this disease?

Do we have enough Asylums for them? Do we have enough laws to protect the general public from this pest, and last not least is our law enforcment willing to enforce the existing laws?

This disease has a name, and we know how to spell it. It's about time something is done about it!

Why the denial?

Hmmm, Saudis and bin Ladens are friends and business partners with the Bush family (Bandar sleeps in the LIncoln Bed room ) co partners in the Caryle Group, our representatives in OPEC.

The US is fatally addicted to crack hydrocarbons.

Saudis own 7% of our national debt and 15% of America.

Muslims in America are a huge voting block, and Muslims are conservative and vote "family values".

Sorry terminator for reasons stated above, and more that I haven't elaborated on, nothing will be done about the evil whose name will not be mentioned.
