UK: Muslims warn parties on hate bill

With dhimmitude galloping ahead in the UK (cf. so many of the stories I have already posted here this morning), the Muslim Council of Britain tells both major parties: toe the line on the religious hatred bill, or else. From the Times Online, with thanks to Ali Dashti:

The Muslim Council of Britain, the country’s biggest Islamic organisation, has sent letters to Michael Howard, leader of the Tories, and to Charles Kennedy, leader of the Lib Dems, reminding them of the importance of the legislation for Muslims. The letter is believed to warn Howard and Kennedy of the negative impact that opposition to the bill may have....

Iqbal Sacranie, secretary-general of the Muslim council, said: “We are clear that incitement to religious hatred will remain central to our campaign as we approach the election. We feel that any opposition will be seen by the Muslim community as not being supportive of issues affecting them.”

Islamic groups have been campaigning for incitement to religious hatred to become law for more than 10 years. They feel that such a law is required to protect their communities from Islamophobia, especially from far-right groups.

Great. What will protect non-Muslims from the jihadist sentiments of Britain's largest Muslim group?

This just proves that what we have been saying at Jihad Watch all along is correct, and that this law will abolish freedom of speech in the UK if it is passed:

UK: Religious hatred Bill is being used to buy Muslim votes

Melanie Phillips: The British Inquisition

Then I asked Iqbal Sacranie, general secretary of the MCB,whether he thought that any public statements about Islamic terrorism, or any speculation about the number of Muslims in Britain who might support Islamic terrorism, would constitute incitement to religious hatred. He said: 'There is no such thing as an Islamic terrorist. This is deeply offensive. Saying Muslims are terrorists would be covered by this provision'.

But isn't the Qu'ran full of religious hatred? Could I sue Mosques for preaching religious hatred.

I have heard that many people are planning to do just that if the law passes.

One question that has not been posed in the discussion of this bill: if it is passed, could a prosecution be brought against Salman Rushdie's "The Satanic Versions"? I suspect the answer is yes, and that some Muslim group will seek such a prosecution. So is there some reason why the question has not been publicly posed?

Melanie Phillips has a good piece on the Scot case at http://www.melaniephillips.com/diary/archives/001041.html

Oops, sorry. I meant "The Satanic Verses" of course. And I did preview.

I have the feeling that this law would only preclude criticism against Muslims.

This is the most frightening thing I've read. The muslims get a free pass at terrorism. I want to scream!

Lets see; only muslims are allowed to express hate,anti-semitism, and intolerance because it is part of their religious duty as written in the tenants of the Quran, and the Hadith.

Us dhimmis and infidels are supposed to be held to a higher standard because the majority of us follow the teachings of the new testament which of course was corrupted after 600 years.

Thus enter the self proclaimed and militant prophet Mohammed to change all the corruption that is in the New testament so that the Quran represents the real and true teachings of Allah and brings us the great religion of peace " Islam".

We are clear that incitement to religious hatred will remain central to our campaign as we approach the election

So your action would not be illegal when committed.
Your action would only become illegal when someone responds in an illegal manner to your action?

Have fun enforcing that one!

What happens if politics is my religion?

Does that mean, that if I hate democrats, they have to go to jail?

Negative impact? Sounds like a threat to me. And why is the British government spending billions of pounds on domestic security these days? Right-wing extremists?

Given the context, and the very real forces of Islamic mass murder, which MCB spokesman say do not exist, this MCB threat, political or otherwise, is ominous.

Middle-England is also watching this and their vote is much larger than the Muslim vote.

This is yet another now-predictable development due to the direction Europe is headed under the Euro-Arab Dialogue.

Daffersd:

Middle England is indeed watching. But it helps if we send out emails to friends around the UK, alerting them to the threat that we face. A threat BTW, that never arose, even in the darkest days of the Blitz.

This "hate" bill could so easily be used against Islam but it won't. The person or group who tries this would be signing a death wish for themselves. You'd get every wanna-be-jihadi hunt you down and shut you up, forever. Or they'll riot, destroy, threaten. That's the Muslim way of dealing with things they don't like.

This "hate" bill will be used only against non-Muslims by Muslims. You will only be allowed to speak of Islam in the most glowing of terms and even as people are slaughtered around you in the name of allah, you won't be able to express concern or criticism. They're desperate to keep the light off their hateful cult. The Internet age is a threat, so they need every means possible to stop the truth from being spread too wide and far. If this bill passes, bye bye UK, hello Nightmare-istan.

feralee:

Too true. What constitutes incitement to religious hatred will be governed and judged by the ferocity of the riot. And muslims will riot and murder like no other.

This Bill has the potential to do irrevocable harm to Britain, the country that is responsible for defining and making the modern world.

It beggars belief how this Labour government does not see what it is doing, and is intent on selling the country for a few votes from a small minority. This is so important an issue that it makes all other issues in the forthcoming election, mere trivia. It is for this reason that I intend to vote against Labour this time.

Yes, and even though you might be voting against Labor because of this one issue, and not exactly like what the other party stands for, this issue is so important, it makes all other issues pale in comparison. The long-term ramifications are unbearable to think of.

"UK: Muslims warn parties on hate bill"

Yes, Muslims are good at making threats aren't they?

Here's what the Brits can expect for the "Hate Law" enforcer that will roam the streets slaughtering infidels at will for being the enemies of Allah.

A message from BIG ALLAH:

"You infidels better pass the anti-hatred bill or I will hate you more."

"P.S. However if you Infidels fall over yourselves trying to appease me by passing the bill I will hate you slightly less. I always like a good laugh."

DP111:

I don't have any gold stars to give away, but your comment is spot on!

I never forget how,- after 9/11, Tony Blair tried to drum up support around 'Middle Eastern countries", somehow ended up with the ruler of Quatar, (Prototype of the Muzzy-slimeballs) who sat there with him and asked him in front of the camera about OBL: "But NOW you respect him?"

Blair went "gagaga" and didn't know which way to look. They rolled him like a teacher rolls a School boy, what a pathetic performance...

What he should have said: "Perhaps YOU 'respect' him!? But I can tell you now: If you insult me like this in front of all the world, we will make sure that you and your camel kingdom including your hate-channel Al Jazeera- TV is roasted like a Turkey tomorrow, and fuck you very well, Allahu Akhbar..."

Unfortunately he didn't say that.
