Academic Marxist Rock Star

In FrontPage today, Tzvi Kahn takes another look at my old pal Mark LeVine. Funny how all of Mark's challenges to debate me melted away when I asked him actually to supply a specific date and venue.

Here is my first article about the great LeVine.

Here is his reply, with additional responses by me.

And here is a final exchange.

The coup de grace, however, comes in this Hugh Fitzgerald piece on Marvelous Mark.

Robert

You rule while LeVine drools.
You know what the score is and have passed by the innocence that ivory tower LeVine is basking in. Yes, it's tough growing up.

I invite you all to read the meandering rubbish on levine's blogsite!
The arrogance of this long haired pipsqueek is amazing.
http://hnn.us/blogs/37.html
Note the spelling mistakes!

He should have stuck to strumming G7ths!

Notice that the arrogant name Le VINE is derived from LEVIN , an ordinary easily identifiable jewish name.
I have always been suspicious of jews who anglicise their names to gain higher status or legitimacy and i consider it an insult to those who died at the hands of the NAZIS.

Interesting. When I post links to these very articles, kj, giaour and company trash them out of hand.

The very same articles show up here by way of Mr. Spencer himself... and not a word is heard from either of those two.

Curious how the very articles I read and post to this site each morning, are precisely the kind of thing Mr. Spencer feels Everyone should be reading.

More or less. I don't wish to second-guess our host.

Now the question comes down to: why do giour, kj and company feel that these very articles / situations, are not worth informing the general public about?

Let's say, at the very least, President Bush is part of the problem by way of not knowing what he is talking about. (House of Saud, according to at least a few others posting here such as Waterdragon, has already been soundly discredited).

Fine. He may (but more like may not) be selling us out (according to kj)- but the Academia are Indoctrinating our students in the very thing we are fighting against!

I'd really like to know from either of you- giaour, kj- why these articles should NOT be seen by the general public? Why is it neccesary to keep them ignorant of what their own children are being brainwashed into believing? And is this Not the best place among several to be posting them to, especially seeing the Mr. Spencer himself is also posting / analyzing them here?

Gary you are showing once again your infantilism.

These articles should definitely be seen by the general public, where did you get your degree in mind reading fool.

But the deepest problem is identity itself. LeVine views any nation that attempts to assert a distinct identity as inherently immoral

Here we have proof that selective vision is not a function of right wing thinking, or that ramming the head up the posterior orfice is both a left and right thing.

Among all the nations in the world Islam asserts a distinct identity.

What part of that statement does Levine not understand. Even Ayman Zawahiri acknowledged that when he said "We are a patient nation".

The Moselmah is the worldwide nation of believers.

I wonder if Levin realizes that Islam makes no exception for his willing dhimmitude and sell out.

The problem with the left is that it's classes are colored by an ideology ,whereas those on the right's glasses are colored by their own ideology.

Nobody talks to anybody, everyone hollers at everyone. And even where the claim is secular there are religious like undertones of absolutism on the part of all sides in the argument.

I think I understand the mindset, motivations, beliefs, fears and needs of both left and right, but I'll be durned if I have an inkling of how to break through the barriers of communication.

There are valid concerns on both left, right and in between, but there are also evils left, right and in between. Everyone wears filters and blinders. And participants are poised to react defensively, by going on the attack.

I wish I could sit down quietly with the Mark Levines and Chomsky's of the world, acknowledge the validity of their concerns but also show them (dispassionately) where they err, and where they are suicidal. Actually suicide is personal, to advance an agenda or defend an ideology that is anti liberty, anti freedom is not suicide but mass murder.

Alas the very same criticism applies to righties.

Mark's heart is in the right place, alas his head is up his arse, but the same is true, unfortunately, for his opposition.

Are JW types aware that Israel has it's own cadre of secular Jews, who believe in magic, that somehow by accomodating the Arabs peace can be had?

And at the other extreme are the Orthodox community, who are a mirror image of the Arab fanatic, who wish to pull down the temple around them by blowing up the al Aqsa mosque, assaulting and murdering Arabs apparently believing that YHVH will intercede in their behalf or maybe it is just self righteous suicidal wishes for martyrdom.

The left CAN be communicated to, but not by name calling and accusations. The answer is in communication theory, there is noise between left and right, that noise is subsets, beliefs, fears, needs and suspicion of motives, increasing the barrage in the form of accusations is counterproductive.

That noise is also misbegotten ideas (ideologies, social, racial, economic and religious).

Witness the last election, two tribes of chimps (blue and red) jumping up and down hurling insults and threatening grunts and scapegoating. The chasm grows wider, and cui bono? Why the Muslims for starters, Muslims have the same social agenda (family values) as those on the right, something that the Islamophiles on the left are oblivious too it seems. Muslims switch their political agenda's and support based on one factor alone, that which is best for the moslemah.

It is only the feckless westerner that gets carried away with team sports, unbridled loyalty to that which is considered left or right, red or blue, Democrat or Republican. There is no unifying ideology as there is in Islam. Yes Muslims, do wage war against each other (Afghanistan and Iraq are proof of that, but they do unify against a common enemy, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon are proof of that).

There is nothing like that in the west. As the Arab saying goes "I against my brothers, I and my brothers against my cousins, I, my brothers and cousins against the stranger".

Do you see a corollary to that in the west?
I don't.

When the left acts the right reacts, when the right acts the left reacts, it's all Hegelian, divisive and self destructive.

Somebody has to break down the barriers to communication and filter out the noise that impedes communication, someone has to play the adult. As I see it both left and right are infantile, self righteous and full of self.

The left has valid concerns and deserves to be heard by the right for their own survival, the right has valid concerns and needs to be heard by the left for their survival.

Mark LeVine,NOam Chomsky et al are not listening, too much noise too many filters, the same of course is true with the likes of AEI, Patrick Buchanan, Christian Coalistion and National Review types.

In short form and in conclusion, I think that the left perceives Islam as classless, raceless ideology, to wit Lynne Stewarts voiced complaint against the west. Islam, like all ideologies, is internally contradictory, it does in fact have classes (the Khalifate, the Immams, the mujtahids and mullahs for starters being at the top of the socioeconomic class and in true Islam the powers that give and take away property, status and life) and Islam is indeed racist, the lighter the skin, the higher up the social scale. I read somewhere that the genocide in Sudan is not just against Christians and animists, but also against the very black Muslims, and Sudanese muslims themselves are a mixed race, apparently social status is dependent on how light the skin is.

And of course something that the left is completely ignorant of, the fact that slavery in Muslim countries is still well and alive. The slavery can be outright as in Nigeria and Sudan or it can be more subtle as in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.

I apologize for my childish outburst at Gary.

I allowed him to bait me. His "question" was a version of "When did you stop beating your wife", but it is also illustrative of the point I was trying to make, how rants, insults and accusations impede communication.

Without any evidence to the contrary, and being totally ignorant of how I think or feel, what my opinions are he laid a false accusation at my feet, presenting it as though it were fact.

Gary has no desire to communicate, apparently, he apparently prefers to bait and vent his spleen, which is infantile.

I played into his infantilism, but on purpose, to prove my point in the above post.

I go by the very words you and kj use when i post these links, giaor. But here is Mr. Spencer posting the same articles. Your memory can't be That short. Both of you enjoy suggesting that I post material in 'hatred' of your views, which is part of your taqqiya, as kj himself admitted:
It's the perfect Anti-Science: Mention only the facts that back you up, ignore contradictory data, vilify anyone that questions you, stamp out calls for reform, repeat the lies again and again, and eventually you will win.

Nor have you answered my question. Guess I shall have to wait for kj.

Have a safe evening, everyone.

Robert,
In college I had a landlord senior year who called himself La Vine.... (pronounced).
I thought it odd, because his name was spelled Levine on all of the previous correspondence I had received. Also, he always made it a correct my pronunciation the few times we spoke.

I was only 22 at the time so the next I spoke to my dad I asked him, 'Dad what's the story with this? Is this guy Jewish or something else? Is this a different pronunciation or something I never heard of in NY?
My dad answered pretty quickly. He said I was in school at a somewhat southern state and since there weren't likely many Jews there he probably changed the pronunciation to make it sound less Jewish perhaps for business reasons. I was only 22 but I wasn't buying that.

EVERY SINGLE TIME I spoke to this guy I MADE A POINT of pronouncing his name Levine at least 3 or 4 times... I thought at that age... How pathetic can you get?

In this Mr. LeVVine's case... it's beyond embarrassment and being pathetic... its like his nome de guerre or Comrade LeVine - if you willl his badge of PC elitism and self-importance inteligence machismo......
So for me please write and call him...
Mr. Levine... the name his mom and dad gave him.

Mike

You failed to point out to my dissappointment that the only scholars who pointed out prior and warned of something like a 9-11 were Pipes and Emerson?
WHY?

And his academic dishonesty and swipe/tripe of "Israel started Hamas didn't they" is disgusting not to mention conspiracyesque of Justin Raimondo or other blatant Israel haters.
As if Hamas isn't a Wahabist Sunni extremist organization funded and paid for by Saudi Arabia... and if/when Israel tried to use them to weaken the more dangerous and powerful PLO 30 years ago... then he should state that as much instead of this pathetic tripe by a so-called "academic"... Perhaps he could throw in the Sharon line of "we control America" or cite "Jenin/Jenin"?

lol....
Mike
