Russian legislators hailed Maskhadov's killing as a sign that Russia was on the right track in its anti-terrorist campaign, as they call the fight against Islamic militants in Chechnya and neighboring regions....
Chechnya's Kremlin-backed president ventured that the killing would make no difference.
"Whether there is Maskhadov or not, the situation in Chechnya will not change," the ITAR-Tass news agency quoted President Alu Alkhanov as saying. "Maskhadov was just a symbol in the hands of the terrorist (Shamil) Basayev. He had no other significance."
Russia's Kommersant daily speculated that either Basayev, a much-feared Wahhabi warlord, or his equally radical aide, self-styled Chechen State Security Minister Doku Umarov, would take over command of the rebels. In that case, "the terror will only intensify," the newspaper said.
I expect that it will.
Well, maybe a few more Chechenya terrorist leaders will have to die in shoot-outs. Imprisoning them doesn't seem to do much good.

I have studied many of the conqests and the retreats of islamic armies,mohamad was a man of mortal,heart and mind and did the will of his father(if you have ears to hear let them hear).Barbaric actions were common place in the hordes.But in the context of time and place Beslan tops the the history of evil of man kind by far,the combination of hatred and human ideology made me cry for a week.If any muslim takes any encouragement from this do not decieve yourself,for i am an ordinary man, not to well educated ,but i am begining to see the evil in islam,and have vowed to expose this evil,in prayer,and in giving of my finance.
May the lord put a mill stone round the neck of all involved in Beslan AND olso those who condonded it in thier minds and hearts.
