That's the country which is applying for EU membership. The pictures say everything: women's right in Islam???? Pah!!

Turkey detains 59 in demo to mark Women's Day

ISTANBUL - Fifty-nine people were detained Sunday when Turkish riot police broke up a demonstration here to mark International Women's Day on March 8, media reports said.
Police ordered the 150-strong group, gathered in front of the mayor's office in the European quarter of the city, to disperse on the grounds that their rally was illegal, but the protestors refused, the Anatolia news agency said.
Footage broadcast on the NTV news channel showed officers using truncheons and pepper gas against the protestors and hauling those detained on to buses.
Turkish women were encouraged to come out of their homes and take a leading role in social and political life by the founding father of the country, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, who gave them suffrage rights in 1934 years before some European countries.
Those in the urban west are today emancipated to the point of claiming top jobs, but the majority is still in the grip of patriarchal traditions and violence against women remains a serious problem in a country which was given the green light to begin accession talks with the European Union this year.

As you know Mr. Spencer receives hundreds of articles everyday, I doubt that he would intentially dismiss your above noted articles.
As you know he has been traveling extensively over the past weeks, Phoenix, Santa Barbara Etc.
I like many others have also sent articles that I felt where worthy of notice but I thoughtfully realize that he can't address all of them which says something about all the problems that the world confronts on a daily basis when it comes to the militant totalitarian behavior of Islamic thinking.
Although this is off topic I'll point out that as readers at jihadwatch/dhimmiwatch you have as much right as anyone among us to contribute to our readers' site at www.co-jet.org. Spencer can't do everything, and even if he could we should be doing things for ourselves, such as finding copy of interest, making contacts with other like-minded people, and using our knowledge and skills to put into practice some actions that will make a diffference in our communities. No good being put-out that a couple of your forwards didn't make it onto the main page. Look instead at what Rikki does at Co-jet: She pulls out a story, writes an introduction, and has her own work as our England Correspondent going. What about you?
If you've missed out on the past two and a half months of us working to put together a meaningful and effective response to jihad based on the things we learn here at jihadwatch in conjunction with you and others here, then start looking at the work Susan P and Rabbit and many others do on a daily basis. You've likely just missed out on seeing our appeals to you to get involved. Well, don't miss this appeal.
Where is it going to turn around? Look at the universities as an example of how the Moslems have taken over a significant part of our culture and the future of our world. Look at schools, police station sensitivity-training seminars, and a host of other travesties. Where do you fit in? What are you doing to counter-act this menace?

If there is another attack on the US, larger even then on 9/11, Americans will continue to parrot about the tiny handful of extremists. This mantra of Islam as the RoP, is becoming a weapon that will lead to our defeat. We will not defeat the Jihad as long as we do not name the enemy- in fact quite the contrary.
It is strange that though Europe was not attacked on 9/11, it is Europe, and particularly Britain, that is becoming increasingly aware of the fascist threat posed by islam. Hardly a day goes by when major MSM such as The Times and The Daily Telegraph, do not have a highly critical articles on islam. And then there is the tabloid press in the UK.
But I have to thank Mr Spencer, LGF and D. Pipes for waking up the MSM in Britain. I cant think of anyone else who could have done it.
