Jamie Glazov interviews Harvey Kushner, author of Holy War on the Home
Front, in FrontPage.
Kushner says:
I knew that it was two years after the 9/11 attacks and we were no safer than before the terrorists blasted holes in the New York City skyline. I had the evidence that Government agencies are still sloppy, negligent, or worse. I could show that federal judges were probating illegal aliens who are "known or suspected terrorists" back onto our streets. I knew that federal probation officers can't report suspicions of terrorist activity from felons they supervise because there's no one to report it to. I knew that a drug worth billions of dollars a year is being smuggled into the country by a Middle Eastern-African-British network, but no one is investigating it-or its links to terrorism. The USCIS Asylum Offices get applications from Middle Easterners who testify to involvement with terrorism, but they can't reject them because the FBI won't return their phone calls.Don't believe it? Sorry, but I had the documents to prove it and I had to tell Americans that for all the time and money we've spent in the past three years on "security," Americans are no safer. As I say in the book: "In my thirty years in counterterrorism, I have never been more worried about my country." That's why I wrote Holy War. Let the truth be told.
FP: Why do you think there is so much government incompetence in dealing with the threats facing this country?
Kushner: Like the old Tom Lehrer song about the French hating the Germans and the Germans hating the Dutch, and so on-this federal law enforcement agency hates this federal law enforcement agency, this federal intelligence gathering agency hates this federal intelligence gathering agency, and everybody seems to have a problem with a particular federal agency, even local law-enforcement personnel. Like other government agencies, federal law enforcement and intelligence gathering agencies don't share information and that makes local law enforcement feel like second-class citizens.
Moreover, in some ways 9/11 made a federal agency like the FBI only more self-conscious and protective of their image. The FBI, was always reticent about giving information. After 9/11 whatever came into their possession never left it. I have spoken to many state and local agencies or departments charged with protecting American citizens where they live and work. Almost all report their biggest problem in the War on Terrorism is nobody giving them up-to date information about threats from the Islamic terror network. Most say even three years after 9/11, the FBI and related federal agencies still don't "download" real-time information to local agencies.
As long as the men and women of local law enforcement are kept in the dark about real-time terrorist data, government incompetence, either real or perceived, will continue.
FP: Can you illuminate for us a bit how the secret Islamic network operates?
Kushner: Near the end of the Spanish Civil War, General Emilio Mola's army was advancing on Madrid when someone asked him which of his four columns would capture the city. "The fifth column," he replied, meaning the rebel's militant supporters inside the capital whose efforts had already undermined it from within. This is exactly the strategy of the secret Islamic network.
Islamic extremists constitute a fifth column-a highly organized underground army whose tentacles reach into our colleges and universities; recruit converts in mosques and prisons; and raise money through bogus Muslim charities and drug running operations-in America. They are committed to the most violent goals of Islamic jihad and united in their belief that God wants them to destroy America completely.
The Islamic secret network's complicated web of multialphabet acronym organizations and interlocking directorates helps conceal their activities. This is evident through the many Islamic charities raising fungible monies aimed at both charitable and terrorist causes. Muslim anti-discrimination organizations are also created to appear to be the voices of moderate Islam when they are in fact the supporters of Militant Islam.
In contrast, many operatives in the secret network hide by being prominent, so that no one could accuse them of anything, much less investigate them. Consider, for example, the case of Abdurahman Muhammad Alamoudi, now serving time in a federal penitentiary. Alamoudi's way of hiding was to be prominent, so that no one could accuse him of anything, much less investigate him. Alamoudi's invitations to the White House and meetings with President Clinton gave him a lot of influence. He used it to make friends, silence critics, and hide influence-buying into Washington's most prominent circles....
Read it all.

A muslim convention on THE HOLIEST WEEKEND OF THE CHRISTIAN CALENDAR (and they say they want to attract non-muslims for outreach - to distract them from their religious observances, I'm sure). Shades of the Christmas convention in Canada.

As George Bush himself acknowledged in his first post-9/11 speech, this war is going to last years -- perhaps decades. What he didn't say of course, was that it is going to last decades because the enemy is so well infiltrated within our educational, legal, media, and political establishments. Infiltrated and insulated -- just ask CAIR.
Bush has done an estimable job by protecting the US from further attacks and by taking the war to the Jihadists in the ME. But it is who we select as our next President that will determine whether we actually win the war. That will require someone who is prepared to name the enemy and take the necessary steps to clean house at the FBI, the State Department, and yes -- the White House.
None of this surprises me. I've read bits and pieces of this before and in many articles discern a pattern on the part of the Bush Administration of neglect of our security coupled with public announcements designed to pander to our fears. Three years of Code Yellow, with those fake "alerts": be extra vigilent today! And against our enemies: All efforts devoted to Iraq, one country least able to harm us (and one of the few secular Arab states, albeit one ruled by the usual Arab tyrant) and a half hearted effort in Afghanistan (most of the country is not controlled by the central government, which itself barely exists). Granted, I hate Bush because his party stole its way to power in 2000, but I love the country much more than I hate Bush and I would have applaued him had he done anything since 9/11 apart from putting his needs first. After all, I live only a few miles from Ground Zero and in a city twice attacked by Moslems. Since the idiotic, expensive and diverting attack on Iraq (which had nothing to do with 9/11), I realized that Bush is cutting NYC loose; indeed, is cutting the country loose. The people here at JW and the moonbats at LGF should be horrified and sickened at the Bush Admins love of SA. SA should have been a sea of glass on 9/12. Instead, we got Visa Express until the wonderful Joel Mowbray shined a light on that rat hole.
I guess what I'm saying is that Kushner's conclusions aren't surprising. What is surprising is the sustained love by those (here at JW and LGF) who recognize the danger of Islam and yet give Bush a big pass.
"give Bush a big pass"?
What website has been more critical of the "Light-Unto-the-Muslim-Nations" Project? Or more furious about the refusal to articulate the nature of the problem, which is not only, or even mainly, terrorism? Or more outspokenly alarmed about the islamization of Europe? Or enraged that no effort has been made, since 1973, to recapture oligopolistic rents from OPEC? Or to investigate and publicize, and by doing so hope to dissuade others from doing the same in the future, all those hirelings, direct and indirect, of Arab and Muslim states and interests, beginning with that list of ambassadors, C.I.A. agents, journalists, professors at "Centers" for thisandthat, which on many occasions has been posted here? Where, again and again, has emphasis been placed on the current (not past, but current) misallocation of resources -- men, materiel, money, attention -- to Iraq? Where else has it been suggested, again and again, that conditions should be created so that Muslim peoples and polities can begin to realize (as Iranians have, after 25 years of the Islamic Republic), that their political, economic, intellectual, and social failures are directly related to Islam, and not to a few decades, at most, in a few places, of so-called "colonialism" and to further promote those natural fissures and resentments within Islam (especially of non-Arab Muslims for the arabization and Arab supremacist ideology that is a natural part of islamization) that are waiting to be exploited?
There may be crowing about the "brilliance" of supposed foreign policy successes on other websites, or by other commentators, but surely there is less of that here than there is anywhere else. But there remains, as well, a keen sense that almost all of those expressing hatred for this administration do so for all the wrong reasons, and they are now, for that reason, beyond all hope. What is maddening is the general conspiracy, by those whose duty it is to instruct us (which includes the press, television, and those in government) to study, analyze, and then make things clear. This has not been done.
The system by which the higher one rises in the high-muck-a-muck chain, the less time one has to study, and the more one relies, as one flies from meeting to meeting, on a prepared page or two by an obedient young aide eager to please by rocking no boats, is part of the problem. Then there is the fear of identifying the real problem, for all the unpleasantness it will bring. How much easier to nod, and go along with the notion that the "real Islam" is just fine. And so on and so forth.
Add this factor to the Fifth column .. Hillary Clinton, backed by John Kerry and Barbara Boxer (among others) is pushing for 4.7 million ex-felons to be allowed to vote. Perhaps the right to vote should never have been taken from ex-felons .. nevertheless, the timing of this move is telling as a political move to ensure the Muslim vote. It appears to me a continuum of the solidarity of the professional Left with Islam. Frightening to consider that there will be no relief from denial in 2008 if the status quo doesn't shift ... and soon.
Seymour Paine:
"What is surprising is the sustained love by those (here at JW and LGF) who recognize the danger of Islam and yet give Bush a big pass."
Not to put too fine a point on it, but you are, in a word, daft:

There's no delusion like self delusion, no blindness like poking out one's own eyes. The visceral hatred of the left blinds one to betrayal from the right.
Luckily Paul Sperry is not so blinded Infilitration: How Muslim Spies and Subversives have Infiltrated Washington
Take note here that this is all under the watch and with the blessing of your dear "right" wing President, who has made a pact with the devil not to use Islam and Terrorism in the same sentence
But continue to delude yourself in this shame internal "culture" or "ideological" war,and our grandchildren will be doing salat five times a day.
The problem is not left v right, Dem v Repub because both sides are guilty, but play that game and you facilitate and enable the ultimate victory of Islam, which depends on the divide and conquer tactics of dhimmitude. Thanks to Bat Ye'or for that insight.
So, Mr. Paine, how come the mainstream media(and almost all mainstream institutions) white-washes islam, even propagates for it and treats organizations like CAIR or Louis Farakhan as if they have any legitimacy?? Even though they have been exposed by the government???
Let me guess, its because the administration controls the media. Hahaha.
Who's calling the shots?? Who is responsible for the psychic strait-jacket that precludes identifying the true nature and source of the enemy??
Pa--leeeze. In case you had'nt noticed it, leftist inspired ideology dominates the world--Bush(of whom I am no fan) did not invent multi-culturalism, indescriminate "diversity", moral/cultural relevatism, the obsession with "equality" at the expense of liberty etc.,etc.
No, islam is a REAL case of the chickens coming home to roost-- the most obvious and pathetic example of the inherently flawed and corrupt world-view that is at the core of leftism.(and it extends far beyond islam)
The opposition to it was destroyed years ago, first McCarthy, then Goldwater. The Counter-culture revolution brought it out in the open and mainstreamed irrationality, and those revolutionaries and their proteges are shot through almost every key institution in the country.
The "centrists"/pragmatists made the mistake of compromising with it. The result is the 3rd way, globalization or somesuch, but leftism is parasitic and will consume it's host and in the end the vocabulary may have changed, but the results remain the same.
The Hegelian dialectical process is the vehicle(maybe unwittingly) that proponents of irrationality, incompetence and evil use to advance, it is corruption by definition, and appeasement by application. By nature the "good" will not rub off on the "bad", the bad will only exploit the good.
As has been stated time and time again by many on this forum, the control of borders and immigration, removal of illegals is the first and best defense against another islam-inspired attack(and further corruption of national soveriegnty), but that is opposed by the leftists and the money/power whores who go along with them for non-ideological reasons. BTW, wealth redistribution is happening, and "the means of production" is being removed from this country.
The fact that this country elected the sleazy con-man,sex-addicted, traitor, adolescent Clinton twice, and gave the stooge Gore the popular vote, only shows that a large segment of society has been sold on the idea that character, integrity, responsibilty, accountability and rational thought are repressive and outdated concepts that have a negative impact on society.
And then those same people complain because Bush is less than the ideal they rejected in the first place. Lets pretend you are not a leftist ideologue, and have an open mind. Go here and read:http://freedom.orlingrabbe.com/lfetimes/rlkocher_index.htm
No wonder the muzi,s are taking over!!!
Schiavo dominates US media
The legal and political battle over whether a brain-damaged woman in Florida should have her feeding tube removed dominated Monday morning coverage in the United States.
An ABC News poll found that by 70% to 27%, Americans opposed Congress' intervention in the case.
The same poll found that 80% of Americans would not want to live if they were in Mrs Schiavo's position.
CNN's Jack Cafferty was particularly exercised about the issue.
"It's like living in the twilight zone," Mr Cafferty said. "Congress comes back from vacation in order to work nights on a weekend. The president flies back from his ranch in Texas and interrupts his vacation in order to address the Schiavo matter."
"It is truly amazing the speed with which this group can function if there is publicity to be had, as in the case of steroids, or political turf to be captured, as in the Schiavo case," Mr Cafferty said.
CNN asked its viewers whether Congress should have intervened in the Schiavo case considering issues including the war in Iraq and the record budget deficit.
Mr Cafferty said the network received a record number of e-mails on the issue.
E-mails from both Republicans and Democrats expressed anger with Congress over inserting itself in what many saw as a family issue.
A woman from North Carolina wrote in an e-mail: "For the first time in my life, I'm embarrassed to be a Republican."
The case has galvanised activists
"Instead of worrying about the economy, our dependence on foreign oil, the war and crazy paedophiles on the loose, they hold a late-night session to deal with a family's private turmoil. This disgusts me," she said.
A viewer from New York wrote said that Congress and the president had overstepped their constitutional authority.
"The courts have to hand these clowns a copy of their job descriptions and tell them to get back to work," the viewer said.
"Issues more important that Iraq and the deficit? Not until Congress weighs in on the Jackson trial," another viewer wrote into CNN.
'Political circus'
The Washington Post hosted an online discussion about the Schiavo case with Robert Kaiser, the newspaper's associate managing editor.
Mr Kaiser normally is hesitant to offer up his own opinion, but the Schiavo case obviously touched a nerve not only with the people participating in the forum but also with Mr Kaiser himself.
"This is a political circus of the first rank, no doubt about it," he said, in response to a question as to whether taxpayer would be left to pay for the costly travel of the hundreds of members of Congress who cut short their Easter recess for the rare weekend vote.
A reader from Washington DC wrote in saying: "I have to think that whatever amount of social conservatives who are happy about this, are vastly outnumbered by the conservatives who want the federal government to stay out of state matters."
To which, Mr Kaiser responded: "I am notoriously bad at predicting the political implications of one thing or another, but I share your doubts that this is a long-term winner for Republicans."
Another reader asked how the Republican Party could square its desire for less government with the direct intervention in the Schiavo case
Mr Kaiser said it highlighted a possible problem for the party.
"There is real tension between its moralistic, Christian wing and its more libertarian elements," he said.
Religious conservatives
The US media noted that President Bush's efforts to return to Washington from a working holiday at his Texas ranch to sign the bill would play well politically with religious conservatives.
MSNBC White House correspondent Jeanie Ohm said the President's Democratic critics called "the move a violation of the separation of powers, moved by political reasons to appeal to their religious conservative base."
And Elisabeth Bumiller of the New York Times wrote that President Bush's "dramatic return was seen as a powerful embrace of the 'culture of life' issues of religious conservatives who helped him win the White House in 2004".
"Those groups will be crucial to the political fortunes of the Republican Party in 2006 and 2008," she added.
The ABC poll suggested only 19% of respondents believed that Congress was acting out of concern for Terri Schiavo.
By contrast, 67% thought Congress were trying to keep her alive for political advantage.
from BBC WORLD
If any of you are interested in helping to protect our society from "Open Borders Bush" and the rest of the Washington sellouts, call your Congresspeople and tell them NOT to approve the Social Security Totalization Agreement with Mexico, tell them to SUPPORT the Real ID Act, tell them to SUPPORT the Citizenship Reform Act of 2005 (no more anchor babies!!), and tell them to REJECT Senator Clinton's new "right to vote" law that allows people to register and vote the day of the election WITHOUT ANY ID REQUIRED.
Treehugger
Shiva,
Those poll numbers only show the result of media manipulation, which has fostered ignorance and apathy about the constitution and the separation of powers. The media is perfectly content to promote judicial tyranny because 7 times out of 10 the judges are ideological soul-mates with the leftist media.
This case is important because if the governor and legislature do not fulfil their duties in upholding the constitution, they will have in effect destroyed self-governance "by the people" and sanctioned the dictatorship of the judicial oligarchy. This is already a fact of life, but this was/is an opportunity to stop and begin a reversal of this trend.
And it most definately will effect all other areas of legal consequence in society, including defense against islamic subversion and terrorism.
The press has made this out to be some fight between religious fanatics and liberals/libertarians. When in reality it is about maintaining the equalibrium between the 3 branches of government in accordance with the constitution.
Alan Keyes is a religious man-- but that does not preclude authorative legal understanding or logic and reason.

Very good posts Hugh and Kentim.
Terri Schiavo and internal problems in fighting the War on Terror have something in common. They are both manifestations of the philosophical conflict in the country.
The case of internal problems in fighting the War on Terror is very related to the conflicting views of people who want an organized effort against the enemy (generally found among conservatives) and those whose ideas of moral equivalence and multiculturalism at all costs (generally liberals and postmodernists) insist on putting questionable people in important positions leading to espionage and undermining the organized effort.
In general, these two camps define the battlezone in which Terri Schiavo finds herself (though, to be fair, conservatives are somewhat divided between the sanctity of life and the reigning in of government). Were it not for the persistance of her parents, Terri would have died a while ago, and only a few dozen people would have known about it. However, due to timing and circumstances, she has become a sine-qua-non icon for the culture war raging between these two systems of thought.
Dear Robert:
I can't speak for Seymour Paine, but I will attempt.
His criticisms do not seem to be directed at you, but directed at the self blinded, muslim like self righteous Jihad Watchers and LGFers, who apologize rationalize, condone and forgive the obvious betrayals of their "hero" GWB and the RNC, while simultaneously lashing out irrationally and condemning anyone who doesn't jump on their team.
Viewing the comments by posters, not your articles, this forum and lgf has all of the earmarks of an RNC disinfo project in which the only "enemy" is something called "left", and in which Jihad and Dhimmi watching are merely an excuse.
For instance even what could be valid and righteous outcries and criticisms against the betrayals from the RNC and administration, are merely mild hand wringing exercises, plaintive pleas, reminiscent of the "Dear Fuhrer" letters I've read about.
"Dear Fuhrer letters", written by overworked, underfed and seldom paid workers on the autobahn or soldiers on the Eastern Front, would start something like "Dear Fuhrer, if only you knew what was going on", such letters were followed in short order by GESTAPO and the disappearance into labor camps by the writers.
Sigh,
Just read Kentim and Ted's comments. They validated my opinion that Jihad and Dhimmi Watching or the Bushonian War on Terrorism is just a ruse, they and Gary and Daisytoo would rather vent their spleen and lash out at Democrats and perpetuate the culture war that is dividing our nation, and thus facilitating the Islamic conquest.
Schiavo, judicial prerogatives, gay rights, abortion rights are all irrelevant and immaterial, if in the end this country winds up "One Nation Under Allah (swt) with Shari'a, for all.." which is exactly what what will happen if folks like Alan Keyes and the righteous right have their way.
I work, or try to, on the left, to raise their consciousness as regards the incompatibility of Islam with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and a SECULAR Democratic Republic, but I don't do it by attacking and demonizing them, that only forces them to entrench and dig in their heels - which is the most stupid tactic in the world.
The left is ignorant, self willed and blinded by an ideology of humanitarianism, it believes that all the ills of mankind are the consequence of inequalities and can be solved by just distribution, in other words their ideology is economic (class based), but the ideology of the right is also economic and class based and in addition the counterpart of Islam because much of it is also "religion based" (the so called culture war).
Left, right, middle, libertarian, third way we all have one problem and one thing to worry about, and it is not some inane and innocuous internal "culture war" about gays, abortion, or even immigration.
Anti immigrationists are often in reality racists, I have no problem at all with race, but I do have a problem with alien and hostile cultures, thus I am a self avowed culturalist, defining MY culture as secular areligious democratic republican.
People or peoples who wish to immigrate to America are welcome, so long as they acknowledge the superiority of the American culture which produces the freedoms and economic opportunities that their own failed culture has not provided, which is the exact case of mine and most Americans, whose own descendants migrated from failed cultures to a society that provided them opportunities and freedoms that their failed culture could not and would not.
They came here not to make this country over into a replica of the culture that failed, but to create a new life and become part of a new culture.
America is the only nation in the world whose nationhood is defined by pieces of paper, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
All other nations are defined by (or were until the mass immigration into Europe of Muslims from failed states) by common origins, language, history, ethnicity, race.
Islam for instance is a nation, Egypt, Morocco, Indonesia are merely states within the nation of Islam. In fact it's proper term is the MOSLEMAH, the Muslim nation in it's entirety, not just Ummah, which is the community of Muslims (locally).
Yes Shi'a may fight Wahhabi and vice versa, but they do it over doctrinal grounds like the insane fratricide of Christians and Jews, but they all unite against the kafir, the kaurin (unbeliever).
Discounting the anti Shi'a terrorism perpetrated in Iraq by the Wahhabiyyah "resistance" (discounted because the Wahhabiyyah inspired and Saudi supported "resistance" considers the Iraq Shi'a to be kafir collaborators with the Amriki infidel), the situation in Lebanon is controlled by Shi'a (Hizbollah), which has allied itself with the Sunni, by using the Palestinian Issue as a foil and cause celebre Thus increasing their influence in Sunni lands as far as Algiers.
And how does America confront the problem? By waging a stupid, inane and fratricidal internal culture war.
There is only one culture war in reality, only one worth our words, money, blood or time and that is the war declared 1,400 years ago by Dar al Islam on Dar al Harb.
So fight amongst yourself, drive away natural allies, who have as much to lose in the long run as you do.
IMO what is sorely needed is an outreach program to both camps the left and right and abandon stupid, inane, senseless and self defeating issues.
And pay attention folks, the greedy power hungry pragmatists and corporatists in the RNC have very cleverly used the fears and needs of conservatives, as Thomas Frank so well demonstrates in his "What's the Matter with Kansas", and the same of course is true as regards the Left (whose activities are funded incidentally by the very same corporate interests, not starving students and left wing professors who have no discretionary income).
There is a paucity of "lefties" who post on JW and DW, but I preach the same message, in reverse, to lefties and "libertarians" .
There is only one culture war worthy of effort Dar al Islam's war on Dar al Harb, and Dar al Harb is on the defensive, and wars aren't one on the defensive, only by well planned counter offensives, which requires Intelligence (which has been compromised by this administrations outreach to Muslims and relationship with the Saudis), superior force ratio and motivated and well trained troops.
The west is weak, because it is divided, and America is internally divided as Abraham Lincoln said quoting the Bible A house divided against itself cannot stand, on top of which given the revelations of Sperry in Infiltration, our intelligence is compromised by fifth columnists, welcomed into it's fold and recruited by the very administration the Right holds up as hero, worships and implores.
We don't have the leadership (Republican or Democrat, left or right) to successfully prosecute the war started by Dar al Islam, we don't have the necessary intelligence, the nation itself is divided and demoralized over Schiavo like trivia.
Sadly we are in essentially the same situation as the Moors in Spain were, after the initial success of their conquest. If you perhaps get around to reading Fregosi's Jihad (in the west), you might notice that in part he accredits the eventual reconquista of Christian Spain, not to the superiority of Arms, but to the disunity and fratricidal infighting of the Moors and their taifas (mini kingdoms).
page 153.Which of course was no help at all to the dhimmi's and the victims of Islam, who had been forced to convert, lived under Shari'a, enslaved or murdered at the leisure and pleasure of their Shaykhs and Sultans.
Giaour: "....there will be no relief from denial in 2008 if the status quo doesn't shift ..."
For clarity .. Although I am very supportive of our President, George Bush, and believe he has largely faced bravely what needs to be faced, this does not make me an advocate of denial. Hence, my thoughts about the status quo (right and left) stated in part // above.
Dear Robert and Hugh:
First, my sentiments are expressed in the posting by Giour. I did not phrase them well enough. They were directed at the commenters rather than you two.
One of the greatest virtues of JW and DW is that it does not pull punches regarding the menace of Islam. This makes your site a great resource; truly invaluable. But the posters here, like the one who sees some sort of Hillary Clinton/Kerry conspiracy everywhere, truly confound me. During the presidental debates, Kerry attacked (as much as was possible) the Saudis; not Bush, who's famliy is basically in bed with them. Yet, Charles (LGF) was ballistic over Kerry but never sees any danger in Bush's love of SA.
Sen. Schumer has constantly attacked the Saudis for exactly many of the reasons posted here. He should be one of yours (and your posters) and Charle's heroes. Is he? How many senators have raised their voices like he has? Not many. True, there is on the left a "lets all just have a hug" view of the world; but on the right, there is a business as usual view of the world.
After five years of Bush, it is way way too late to blame our troubles on FDR, Carter, and Clinton, as many do here (and, to note: you have no real control over them, and we're all glad for that.) Our pro-Islamic policies are entirely due to Bush.
In my opinion, the correct post 9/11 policy would be to wipe out the Taliban (did we really? They are still around), force Pakistan into getting rid of their Islamists, cough up AQ Khan, and fight and contain Wahabbism around the world. That was the moment when everything was clear and I believe we would have had much of the world on our side. However, due to Bush's weirdo focus on Iraq (and all the lies it took to get us there; lies which now severely constrain our ability to maneuver: Who will believe us, if that matters, if we complain about Iran?), now we have Iraq sliding into Sh'ite extremism, as you have noted several times, and there little patience in the world for helping us against Islam. Bush, for his own bizarre reasons, squandered a precious moment, and has severely damaged the U.S. But the posters here just think he's the bee's knees. Go figure.
I really do believe that we will have to deport all of them.
So no concern about the VIRTUAL REALITY manufactured by the media?? So public opinion means nothing??
No-- aligning with leftists will only result in one thing, continuing their war on rationality. And turning truth, reality and the Constitution upside-down. The islam problem is only ONE example of the destructiveness of leftism, almost every idea or issue they have advocated and implemented is just as deceptive, corrupt and flawed.
We don't need leftists, they will kill us just as easily as the islamists. And they have and are. Compromise is suicide. Leftism must be exposed just as islam. We need the undecided and apathetic.
The leftists already know islam is crazy, but they consider all religions except their own crazy. Their top priority is domination, and they see the Constitution and Christianity as the greatest threat to their power-- they know islam will ultimately lose.
The islamists cannot and will not "take over America", they are only doing what leftist-approved groups have been doing for 50 years- stealing undeserved power and privilege by subversion and deception. There are only 2-3 million muslims out of 290 million people-- get real. Sharia as real law in the U.S.A. ? Yeah, right. Though all this talk is sure to inflate their egos. There is a reason for dancing around the issue, and it is because certain leftist approved groups will also be shown to be corrupt and lying con-artists who wish to enforce servitude on the designated "oppressors". If that happens , well, it won't be pretty.
The threat of a WMD attack is the only real danger the islamists pose. WMD will come across the border, and some other state will have supplied it somehow.(Pakistan? Iran? Russia? China? N.Korea? the Saudis??) For some reason. And the leftists have laid the groundwork for it to happen.
As for "squandering a precious moment"- screw the rest of the world and their Soviet propaganda BS.
Going by past posts, Giaour seems to be as pathological a leftist as the Bush-fans he/she is out to slur. OK, so the man isn't perfect, was he expected to be? 'Misunderestimated' is the word. Give credit where it is due, not just blame.
And this Paine character started off as somewhat sincere but has all too soon rushed in where angels fear to tread.....He's now degenerated into a familiar DU/dailykos kinda ranting.
Kentim above makes a good point. As for me, I'm perfectly willing to live with a left wing govt that's at least as serious about exposing islam as it is about hating Christianity.
Giour and Seymour Pain express my sentiments, we should hold together instead of making minor (by comparisson) issues the highlights of the debate.
We, the West, have to face the fact that nowadays we have a real enemy, somebody out there willing nothing more or less then our destruction. But helas, it is hard to face the facts and realise that the comfortable differences (still within the bounds of our society and nobody in the debate being out to destruct it) are not longer the ones that really matter. Its about survival (read my lips!).
I understand the hesitations (having them myself) to see the peril we are in for what it is, a clash of civiliasations, just as I see the comfort of going back to the old differences and be occupied by them. It is a lot more easy to fight someone with whom you have something in common, somebody who you at least can understand, then with somebody totally alien. However, it is the alien that needs to be adressed. Therefor it is more then alarming that energy doesn't go in adressing the real issue but in fighting the last war, and not the one at hand.
I read a really alarming book about the financing of terrorism (forgotten the autor, a brave woman that went undercover)and the inadequacy of the FBI adressing the issue. Most of the information gathered by her went astray.
Alarming is also the connection between the Bush-family and the financiers of terror, the Saoudi's. This connection stops the Bushadministration to adress the problem, adress the fact that Islam is the problem, Islam, oil and money, money enough to buy everything and everybody.
So what should be done is "Make love not war with the other parties in our society, and make war not love to the Saoudies c.s.". I'm from Europe and here -contrary to popular believe- lots of people love, or at least like- the US, helas, we are muffeled (free speech-challenged as you might say) under a blanket of political correctness and Islamophili (which is a disease a lot worse and more catching than Islamophobia, hell, some people do not even catch the latter when they are bombed and called less then apes and pigs) which makes that our feelings are not justly communicated.
i do not like to refer to WW II, but I can not escape the analogy with Hitler. He was able to grap power (as Lenin was in Russia) because the non-lunatics where to busy figthing each other to see and fight the real enemy. I hope we all wake up in time, stand togheter, make Bush -the leader of the free world- do his job, and live happely ever after. We should not forget that victory can not be gained without solving the real, not the imagined- problem.
P.S. to All
(who are ably dueling at JW/DW over the merits and demerits of the current political class):
POINT ONE:
The Enemy of Free Human Life on Earth?
Islam.(And all totalitarian, undoubt-able dogmas.)
POINT TWO:
The Friends of Free Human Life on Earth?
Those who KNOW point One.
"Left", "Right", 'Religious', 'Non-religious'. That's what you argue about in the Time of Leisure AFTER the scrouge of Islamic tyranny has been blunted and driven back into the desert. (Or better, reduced into an anthropological exhibit in Western museums, next to the dioramas of extinct Aztecs and shrunken-head Jivaros.)
As you trouble your heads over the 'coziness of the Bush family and Saudi Arabia' or the 'taliban-leanings of the Christian Coalition', remember:
The REAL ENEMY is coming to cut ALL our heads off. Left. Right. Judeo-Christian. Freethinker.
Even the noggins of those who are blithely assuming that the Koran and its true believers are no more harmful than Rotarians or the Amish.
We DO have to protect our 'dumb cousins' from the mass-murderers, too. Even if we have to drag them to the shores of reality kicking and screaming, like life-guards struggling with a drowning man.
And defeat this Planetary pedophile cult. With or without the help of our ideological neighbors.
Until Islam becomes a self-encysted irrelevancy.
MEANWHILE:
Save the BEST venom and SHARPEST energy for the BIG target.
The little ones -and their political 'enablers'- are always buzzing around like the opportunistic flies that they are.
When a tiger is clawing at your entrails, you can wait to swat a bluebottle.
Vote AGAINST those who DO NOT stop the annihilation of the Free World.
(Right/Left/Center/Libertarian/whatnot)
That's the only 'argument' these 'leaders' understand. A boot in the butt.
(But- all very lively, literate and entertaining discussion, nonetheless. Everyone -of every band on the thought spectrum commenting here- can sure as hell hammer together some good words. Now use those 'hammers' like Charles Martel... on the heads of the invaders.)
So,for a "dumb cousin" I didn't do to bad?
Actually, Giaour is right about one thing, both political parties have betrayed "the people".
The leftists and corporatists are 2 sides of the same coin.

Dr. Jack Shepard asks, "If Jeremiah was here today."

What you do Is the Devil's work. Who is any one to take the land of others in the name of God or to be suicide bomber's in the name of God - you just do not believe the day of judgment awaits all. Me I am interested what waits me. The path that I have chosen to follow and I repeat follow is impossible unless God has it planned for me.
The things that I say in his name will be heard, only because when I say or publish a thought ; this time God will open the hears and clear the eyes so all will fear the wonders that God has created and all will fear their day of judgment. He knows all. All of us at some age should know if we do evil or if we do good.
The good doers are small in number, and are blessed to eternal life. Those that God will forgive can still get a ticket aboard the Love train to Heaven. Hate and not sharing is an emotion of the devil, not sharing is planted in the human like God plants cancer in those unlucky ones. It will kill you.
To not share the West Bank with its original owners ( the truth is the truth in God eyes, you can fool some of the people half or all of the people all of the time but you can not fool God). You are fools to try or to not share Jerusalem with all the religions of the world is only evil. Jerusalem is God's Holy city it only can belong to God. To murder or kill or be a suicide murder of others for control of God's Holy City is only to guaranteeing you on your day of Judgment to dwell in the fires of Hell forever. Old Testament, New Testament and Koran clear say this. So only the fools are those who do not fear God.
God gave the "Promised Land" to both the Israeli's or Palestinians. Both are the seed of Abraham,( Abraham seed is both Jewish and Muslim). A seed is a seed! Well that is the truth. A good question to think about; well maybe not this time God has planned for the people of Israel to return to the Promised Land either. If both Israeli's and the Palestinians continue to do things that are displeasing to God. God will continue to curse and destroy you both and make the promised land uninhabitable. Without love, I guarantee you with hate that exists today in the Promised Land if it continues someday sometime it is inevitable; the devil will win and the Promised Land will be no more.
Remember during the reigns of various kings: beginning in the thirteenth year of the reign of Josiah (626 BCE), and then Jehoahaz, Jehoiakim, Jehoiachin, Zedekiah, and during the brief rule of Gedaliah ben Ahikam, whose assassination in ca. 585 BCE marked the final end of the remaining Jewish community in Judah and Jerusalem and symbolized the conclusion of the First Temple period; Jeremiah preached for over 40 years and no one listened and the Jews did what was displeasing to God and the Jews were slaughtered and sent into exile to Babylon.
They did not listen to Jeremiah!
Would Jeremiah ring the warning bell today?
The prophet Jeremiah was active in Jerusalem during the tragic period of the city's destruction. Jeremiah prophesied an ineluctable, unavertible disaster. He launched his prophetic mission in his native village of Anathoth, but was rejected by the villagers. Jeremiah castigated the people bitterly for forsaking God and the Torah. Although Jeremiah was saliently a prophet of apocalypse, he emphasized the temporary nature of the destruction and the consolation to be found in the certainty of the nation's return to its land.
But with so much violence and hatred is this the time?
Look in the mirror or read a newspaper you know if Jeremiah was in Israel today he would castigated the people bitterly for forsaking God and the Torah and Koran. He would again be emphasized the temporary nature of the destruction and the consolation to be found in the certainty of the nation's return to its land some day. History repeats if you forsake God and the Torah ( and now the Koran) as only you in your hearts know; if you stop and think what you are doing.
If Jeremiah was in Israel today he would be preaching again of apocalypse because once again you know you both are doing what displeases God.
It's God show. We better wake up before you lose "The Promised Land" again. Maybe the Jews and everyone else not be able to live in the "Promised Land" for another 1000 or 2000 years; until everyone remembers to fear God and do the things that pleases God.
I can warn and I can advise but lucky for you God has my and your road fixed, like the snow falls in winter. I have a mission in life and a job I have accepted. It's mine and your destiny when you feel God hand guiding you; we have to change to do things that please him. It will soon happen. God will make our lives easier if we begin to follow God's Word. I thank him 100 times a day. I pray soon you will too.
If I was Ariel Sharon and the right wing part of Israeli Government, who have slaughtered 1000’s of Palestinians in just the last 4 years; who have drawn the whole world maybe into our last days, God is all forgiving if you return to his teachings.
I say to the suicide Bomber killers; your only reward is to dwell in Hell forever, you do not fear God. The Prophet Mohammad taugh that if some man places himself and his words ahead of Allah's, he will also be dwelling in the fires of Hell forever with you; the Koran says fear Allah if one takes their own life.
Ariel Sharon; I would rush to the synagogue in sac clothes and with ash on my face with my face to the ground fearing God and because I can promise you now as it stands now you are guaranteed a future of forever dwelling in the fires of Hell; because that is how you have acted. Your actions have once again put Israel in jeopardy; no different then during the reigns of various kings: beginning in the thirteenth year of the reign of Josiah (626 BCE), and then Jehoahaz, Jehoiakim, Jehoiachin, Zedekiah, and during the brief rule of Gedaliah ben Ahikam who also did what was displeasing to God and the Jews were slaughtered and sent into exile.
Unless God wakes you up and you immediate work with President George W. Bush and make peace and share; your land? Remember what happened the last time the nation of Israel was in the promised land and forsaked God's Word; only destruction and disaster fell upon Israel.
YOU BOTH HAVE FORGOTTEN THE WORD OF GOD, AND YOU HAVE TO DO IT FOR YOURSELF OBEY THE TEN COMMANDMENTS; YOU KNOW EVIL FROM GOOD; BEGIN TO DO THINGS THAT PLEASE GOD.
As it stands now BOTH OF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS WRONG! God is all forgiving but you have to change and act in accordance to God’s Laws to be forgiven. So what is it, you can not Love your Arab neighbor AND your Arab neighbor can not love you? Your actions I pray are destine to change. All God asks for is a change of Heart. Fill your hearts with God's Love by removing the hate the DEVIL HAS PLANTED in you.
If you steal, you break God’s commandments! To be correct the Jewish people; if you read the bible are the "chosen people" but as the chosen people they throughout history ARE made an example of, when they pleased God they were rewarded with wealth and happiness. When they displeased God THEY were crushed.
My fathers famous quote was if we are the chosen people why did not God chose someone else?
