Iran: six demonstrators killed; arrested female soccer protesters to be lashed

And the worldwide media maintains a respectful dhimmi silence. "Official death toll rises from Iranian soccer protests; Arrested female soccer protesters to be lashed," from the Student Movement for Democracy in Iran (SMCCDI)

At least six demonstrators were killed in the Greater Tehran and several other in some of the riots which rocked cities, such as, Khoram-Abad, Esfahan, Shiraz, Kermanshah, Sari, Ardabil, Babol, Rasht, Mashad, Hamedan, Mahabad and Oroomiah (former Rezai-e) due to popular demonstrations which happened following Iran's win over Japan in the frame of the qualification games for the 2006 Soccer World cup. Tens of other have been severely injured and some are in critical conditions.

Brutal militiamen were seen using clubs, chains and knives against demonstrators with the firm intention to kill anyone standing against the regime. Several female protesters were seen beaten to death in Guisha and Fatemi as they took off their veils.

Islamic regime's propaganda tools, such as, the official so-called "Iran Students News Agency" (ISNA) have qualified some of these deaths as due to "having been trampled under the spectators' feet" or "Dying of heart attack due to excitement". Foreign news agencies, such as, Reuters, AP, Xinhua or AFP have ignored the existence of street riots while echoeing the official version due most likely of fear of seeing their correspondents expelled or due to their financement by major lobby groups interested in continuing business with the Islamic republic....

Arrested female demonstrators are to be lashed for their "un-Islamic behavior" before getting released. Such decision has been announced to some of the families who have searched for their missing members arrested following yesterday's Soccer riots....

Family members are afraid about the consequences of the methodic barbarian lashing punishment on the health of the arrested demonstrators who are mostly slim due to their often young age. The Islamic regime is applying the backwarded Islamic Sharia Law by which stoning, mutilation, amputation, lashing or eye for eye punishments are promoted....

"having entered the premises in male clothing due to the law on banning female fans from soccer games"

What more do you have to say? Funny how I didn't hear this mentioned by the TV commentator, I wonder why they didn't notice the lack of women in the crowd of 120,000

Whenever I watch "Germany's Finest" (Schroeder and Fischer) cuddle up to the Iranian mullahs I could puke. The so-called "moral integrity" of these left-wing idiots leaves you speechless. No wonder they'd have preferred a dictator like Saddam Hussein to stay in power. How they can, at the same time, visit Israel and bow their heads regarding the Holocaust time and again is beyond me. Here's a chance for them to stand up for human-rights for once but what do they do - they try to hold talks with the Mullahs. The only way to deal with these morons is by sanctions. I fully support the US stance here - isolate Iran (and Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Somalia etc.)

As a football fan I have always thought that the Iranian ban on Iranian women attending matches is a serious breach of human rights. (Yes I know there is a lot worse in reality, but not being allowed to do something my Dad and I took for granted brings it home) One of the reasons given is that they would find the bad language offensive.
I remember when they played Republic of Ireland about 3 years ago, Irish fans of both sexes wore Green hijabs, the men t oshow that they were all Irish, no distinction between sexes.

Apparently FIFA are sending a team to investigate. I have e-mailed the Student report to FIFA making the point that this is a human rights abuse, and as a respected international body they could be a force for good in this area.
FIFA's website is http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/index.html

It won't hurt to add your own concerns. Sporting isolation played a substantial part in ending apartheit.

I forgot to add this link to another Iranian site that I found
http://www.iranian.ws
the progressive Iranian community. They have a serious of polls, which carry a Mullah health warning "WARNING According to some, You may turn to solid rock or may burn in hell for eternity by participating in our polls."
One poll asked how Islam was rated after 1400 years. 82% reckoned Not Good. I don't know how reliable the site and the contributors are of course, I just surfed in via google.

Who really has control in Iran? It certainly doesn't appear to be President Khatami even though he has been in office since 1997. I thought that he was elected because he offered reforms in a way that would give more power to the people of Iran, many who have been dissulusioned over the past 7 or 8 years. Has he been just a puppet of the conservative clerics and mullahs, or did he choose to be a passifier rather than a reformer in Iran? Who will take his place in the next 2 months when his presidency is up? Will Iran fall back even farther into the 10th century Islamic Ideology? The people of Iran called out for a reformer when they accepted and voted in favor of Khatami and the reforms never emerged. The Iranian people have got to be deeply concerned about who will be Khatami's predecessor , will he champion the rights and freedoms of the Iranian people or will he be a more conservative leader? Unfortunatley the latter looks more likely given the way Islamic Ideology works in favor of a few for power, control, and wealth.

I share your pain Disillusioned, but in America our REAL problem are the so called "conservative" Dhimmis, like our President and Congress that are financially and politically dhimmitized by the Muslims, especially the Saudis.

When it comes to Islam (and especially the Saudis) it is the three monkeys (see no, speak no, hear no Evil), and there is no relief from the left either.

As regards Israel and the Holocaust, the political corrrectness and multi cultural tolerance shown in Europe and America is a direct consequence of the pressures exerted by the Holocaust Industry.

The Jews used political pressure and influence to enact memorials and hate speech laws, which have ironically been employed against the Jews and Israel by the Muslims (and they still haven't learned, to wit the latest Holocaust Memorial erected by the Brandenburg gate).

In England hate speech laws were enacted to protect the Jewish community, but the laws are now used (with special legislation) to "protect" the Muslims. Same situation in France and the rest of Europe.

AS regards the soccer riots, the only place I've seen them mentioned, other than here is on Mosaic (News from the Mideast on Link TV, Arab and Iranian sources) but they did not report the deaths nor the fact that women had to dress in DRAB (Dressed as boy) to even get into the games.

To answer your question Mackie as to who is in control in Iran, it certainly is not the President, or the majlis, it is the Grand Ayatollah Khameini, the clerics and lesser Ayat Allahs... the election of Khatami was a farce, a publc relations ploy, a sop to the west and the discontented Iranians.

President Khatami is the Mutt to Prime Minister Khameini the Jeff.

If you know anything about the death of the Canadian Iranian photo journalist Zarah Khazemi (arrested for photographing a protest outside of the notorious Evin Prison - btw the Shah's SAVAK has been replaced by the religious and more brutal and murderous EVAK), who was beaten to death inside of Evan, and afterwards the Iranians played a game, first trying to deny the brutal murder, and then playing a mutt and jeff act of shifting responsiblity between the regime and the "moderate" opposition.

BTW, they absolutely refused to allow the family and rebuffed Canadian requests, that her body be returned to Canada for burial (for fear of the disclosure of an autopsy).

Be aware that such prohibitions can easily become law in any area where Islam gains the upper hand. Democracy does not mean freedom; it only offers the franchise to those that didn't have it before. Thus, democracy in Iraq, Afghanistan, or even Saudi Arabia and Iran won't change a thing for these people. Islam is barbaric and sharia is a method of managing barbarism.

Giaour starts off as usual: "in America our REAL problem are the so called "conservative" Dhimmis, like our President "

Frankly, Giaour, your political opinions are boring and extremely predictable. I am not saying do not post. Just, please, keep on topic, i.e., anti-Jihad.

Granny Weatherwax, I love your anecdotes. Keep 'em comin'. It stirs my heart to imagine Irish men side-by-side with their women in green hijabs.
