For Most Americans who regularly watch the news, the term “Sharia law” evokes gruesome images of beheadings, punitive amputations, and women being stoned to death. Muslims who do not approve of the cruelty and misogyny that is often associated with Sharia have two legitimate options for dissociating these practices from Islam. They can either reject Sharia law altogether (much like modern day Judaism no longer believes in the application of Mosaic law), or they can at least demand that the egregious human rights violations that are currently associated with Sharia be declared forever obsolete.A high school teaching module prepared by the Council on Islamic Education titled “What is Sharia?” rejects the first option by describing Sharia as the "centerpiece and backbone” of Islam 1. It ignores the second option by failing to make any reference whatsoever to the barbarism and misogyny that is currently associated with Sharia law. Despite this appalling oversight, students are expected to explain significance of the five major schools of Islamic law, list the fields of knowledge required for a qualified Muslim jurist, and learn a total of no less than 21 legal terms. In an era when college professors are lamenting the lack of basic knowledge of modern-day high school graduates, it is amazing that anyone should remotely consider supplementing their social studies curricula with so much arcane minutia.

If there is, in the Jihadwatch audience, someone wishing to spend money wisely, they could do worse than pay for a decent translation, into English, of Antoine Fattal's study of how non-Muslims are treated under the Sharia: "Le statut legal des non-musulmanes en pays d'Islam."
Indeed, an entire Translation Project needs to be undertaken, so that such books as those of Bat Ye'or and Ibn Warraq are available in the major languages, not only in two or three. This has to be done. And the government will not do it.
Anyone out there who has a foundation, or deep pockets? For all those contributions to hospitals and universities, or to Save Venice, or Rural England, will mean little, if Western Europe succumbs to islamization -- and it will, of nothing is done. During the Cold War, the vast resources of the American government were used to conduct a propaganda campaign against Communism. Today, the American government is terrified of telling the truth about Islam, or even using the word "Jihad" instead of "terror" -- as it, the "war against Jihadis." Instead, it is prepared to spend money, has already spent money, "explaining America to Arabs and Muslims," as if it we who need to apologize, make excuses, "explain ourselves." The very idea of believing that this is necessary, when what is necessary is to spend money educating Infidels here and elsewhere on the teachings and history,the theory and practice, of Islam, shows what a topsy-turvy world we have allowed this to become.

Here is an email from one of my liberal friends in response to my forwarding to her a link to my article. Brace yourselves:
"Hey (name deleted): you need to come hang at the coffee shop because there are
lots of Muslims who hang there and all they want to do is the daily
stuff of life -- hang out, drink coffee, chit-chat, go get a sandwich,
find chicks, graduate, get their car fixed, etc. Several of them were
good friends with David (Jew). Truly, even though this doctrine might
state all this crap, I think most folks just want to live their lives
and not fool with fighting the big freakin holy war or whatever. Just
like a bunch of Catholics I know who use birth control. And
super-right-wing Christians I know who drink and dance. In other words,
in many cases it's just words words words and not real life."
Maybe some of you think it was in poor taste for me to post my good friend's email (without her consent), but I was really stunned by her implication about my "narrow-mindedness," so I want you all to take a good hard look at what we are up against.
Don't lose hope, just work on your skills of persuasion.

Your 'borrowed' email sounds exactly like a description of what the 19 hijackers of 9/11 were doing just before they boarded unsuspecting airliners, cut the throats of flight attendants to terrorize the crew, thereby got into the cockpit and sliced the pilots' throats as well. And then crashed three jet planes full of men, women and children into buildings full of men, women and children.
But, luckily, the last of them were finally thwarted over Pennsylvania, and the final jet -heading toward the White House or the Capitol- was driven into a field by the valiant efforts of the no-longer deceived passengers.
You friend sounds like the passengers on the first three airliners.
(Gee, Reverend Jones, this Kool-aid really don't taste that different! ...)

Email your lady friend that her opinion is only worth half of a man's, at least according to Islam, so her assessment of Muslim men must be considered that of a half wit.
