BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - A roadside bomb containing sarin nerve agent exploded near a U.S. military convoy, the U.S. military said Monday. Two people were treated for ``minor exposure,'' but no serious injuries were reported.
``The Iraqi Survey Group confirmed today that a 155-millimeter artillery round containing sarin nerve agent had been found,'' said Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt, the chief military spokesman in Iraq. ``The round had been rigged as an IED (improvised explosive device) which was discovered by a U.S. force convoy.
``A detonation occurred before the IED could be rendered inoperable. This produced a very small dispersal of agent,'' he said.

Dagestan Bans Russian Versions Of Qur'an

DAGESTAN, May 17 (IslamOnline.net) - The religious administration of the Muslims of Dagestan, a republic of the Russian Federation, has decided to ban circulation of the Russian versions of the holy Qur'an as well as a number of Islamic books published in Russian, under the pretext of "fighting terrorist and fanatic ideas" these books are alleged to promote.
In a statement, a copy of which was obtained by IslamOnline.net Sunday May 16, the religious administration of the Muslims in Dagestan said that it has decided to ban all Russian versions of the holy Qur'an and books of prophetic Sunna (Tradition) as well as some Islamic books that are available in different parts of the Russian Federation .
It is worth noting that versions of the Qur'an have only been previously banned in Dagestan during the Communist regime in Russia between 1923 and 1991.
In its statement published also in al-Salam monthly newspaper, the religious administration reiterated that the decision was due to its keenness on "fighting terrorist and fanatic ideas," in reference to the Wahabbi beliefs adopted by several Islamic schools and movements in Dagestan .
Dagestan Wahabbis call for setting up an Islamic State. They are supporters of Chechen fighters in the war currently underway against the Russian troops.
According to a 2002 report made by the research center of the governmental Dagestan University , Wahabbi followers in Dagestan represent 3% of the total Muslim population, who, in turn, represent 84% of the two-million total population of Dagestan .
Wahabbi movements appeared in Dagestan between 1980-1985. The "United Islamic Socialist Party," led by Ahmed Qadhi Ahtayev is one of the greatest Wahabbi movements and it has several offices in south Dagestan .
The number of religious schools teaching Wahabbi ideas are 14, including two in the Dagestani capital "Makhg el-Qalaa."

Iran Press News: According to received reports from various cities in Iran, today which marks the first celebration of the Iranian New Year's Festival of Fire was met with celebrations as well as huge protests and demonstrations against the Islamic regime of Iran. The protestors chanted: "We need no Sheikh or Mullah, we curse YOU - RUHOLLAH!"
A report from Tehran: Young celebrants today set scarecrows in the likeness of various Mullahs, such as Khamenei, Rafsanjani, Khatami, Sharoudi, Jannati, etc. on fire in the streets. They cried out slogans such as: "Referendum, referendum, this is the people's dictum."
In various parts of the capitol, celebrations and parties rage on. As a part of this celebration which is held on the very last Tuesday night of the year, dry bundles of bramble and shrubbery are set on fire and people jump over them. This is in order to purge their spirits of all the sins and tribulations of the passing year, in order to start the new year, with a pure heart. This is an ancient Persian (Zoroastrian) tradition, one that the Mullahs have done their best to eradicate since their takeover in 1979.

The sound of bursting firecrackers (which is a part of the celebrations), fireworks, toy rockets, confetti and various other celebratory trajectiles can be heard all over Tehran and smoke has filled the streets.
In one of the grassy knolls, in a suburban area of Tehran, large bonfires were lit and people danced around it and continued chanting the various slogans in defiance of the Mullahs and their henchmen. It is reported that the local Mullahs in various areas of several areas have locked themselves in their mosques fearing the crowds who continually and collectively shout out their slogans.
In several other parts of Tehran, revolutionary guards who have blocked off roads in order to stop cars carrying passengers of various groups from joining others. However people have begun parking their cars and have joined their fellow celebrants on foot. The guards however have become frightened by the force of the people. In this specific area several non-Iranian journalists were also present with their film crews, reporting.
In another area of the city people took to setting the French flag on fire while chanting: "Europe is finished and so are their Mullahs." OR "Bush, Bush, where is Bush?" (In Persian this rhymes: Bush, Bush, kush, kush!).
Like last year's celebration, the brave women who also participating in the celebrations removed their headscarves, stomping and dancing.
In the town of Karaj, near Tehran, people chanted: "Death to Khamenei" as the brutal revolutionary forces took chains and batons to people, severly beating and injuring many.
In the Southern city of Ahvaaz, on the Iran/Iraq border and the surrounding townships celebrants also came out in droves, confronting the regime's thugs. In the Shi'ite holy city of Mash'had, the city closest to the border of Afghanistan, where anti-regime and anti-Mullah fervour has always been most impressive, large groups of celebrants were arrested and detained.

Haram has two meanings
Sacred as in the Haram Al Sharif (on which sits the Al Aqsa Mosque)
and
Forbidden. As in eating pork is haram.
But it makes sense I guess, considering the Arabic mindset, as evidenced in their language and religion.
I would guess that the forbidden is sacred.
I wonder if this forging of the Qur'an includes my 18th Century George Sales translation :).
Then again there is truth in the statement that the Qur'an is a forgery, just finished a number of books, including ibn Warraq's The Search for the Historical Muhammad (next, after I finish Bat Ye'ors Islam and Dhimmitude) is the Origns of the Koran and What the Koran really says, both by Ibn Warraq.
The solution is simple, the Qur'an, Sira, Haddiths are all forgeries, made up stuff by the early Arab ghazi that streamed out of Arabia with their decapitating scimitars in hand, once that conquered the lands of the Palestine, Syria, Uruk, they ran into Christians and Jews who had their own ideology, non plussed and suffering the usual Arab inferiority complex, which causes them cognitive dissonance, as they all suffer from insufferable arrogance, they cribbed what they could from pre Islamic Arab poetry, traditions, Jewish and Christian stories (heard but not understood) and sat down and create their own tribal mythology out of whole cloth, actually patchwork, a bit of this a bit of that, some more of this, a little of that.. and then declared theirs to be the (self justifying) word of the creator. Justifying of course Arab imperialism and Arab Supremacy.
As evidenced in the Umayyads, who declared Islam to be an Arab only religion, Jewish and Christian Arabs could convert, but not non Arab populations, in fact if a non Arab tried to convert he risked life and limb and at best got away with some 75 lashes. The purpose of non Arabs is to support the Arabs, later it was the non Muslims to support the Muslims, as in Turkey, via Jizyah and the devisherme or blood levy.
Since Arabs and Muslims actually produce nothing of their own, they need a dhimmi population to extort, murder and squeeze (just like they are doing now, using our oil money to infiltrate and subvert the west in the way of Allah - financial Jihad,- thanks George and Dick).

There's a never-ending cacophony of offenses that islamofascism hurls at Western civilization, the United States, Christianity, Judaism (and, of course, the Jews themselves - or the 'JOOOOOOOS' as LGF posters say in digust at the latest hate screeds from the islamofascist republics) and frankly this would seem to be the last straw - really, the US changing the Quran? Really? Come on. Really?

I wonder if this guy is refering to my Arabic Quran? Certainly that version has not been corrupted. I will however make a point in his favor, the Quran translated into English is tampered with purposely. Yes, I know it might be a shock that the Quran could actually be more vile in its true nature than it is in English(lol), but it is. The translation is used to soften the shock on English speaking peoples to this foreign idea. The Muslims knew that they would have trouble bringing the full horror of the message to westerners, so they touched up some of the meanings so that they are not so harsh. This is the first thing that I learned when reading it, and litening to Muslim converts to Christ who spoke the truth about the Quran's true message.
So this guy is right to say that in English translations of the Quran, the message has been softened to bring in adherents when there would otherwise be outrage. Some good sources for this are Dr. Ergun Caner a Turkish convert and professor of theology(he has several books, and is working on a Chirstian commentary on the Quran) and a guy named Walid Shoebat. Walid is of "Palestinian" descent, and was in a terrorist group before coming to Christ and becoming a zionist, he has a web site, I think you can find it under walidshoebat. He can adress this antisemetism better than I.

If you know islamic theology, you`ll know that islam is very very sensitive about what we`d call merely `mis-interpretation`; why, heck, I get accused of it all the time. (The same sensitivity, I`ve noticed, does not extend to other people`s religions, of course. Those are fair game. I mean, golly gee, didn`t Jesus order the murders of non-believers in Luke 19?) How hilarious! The rabid throngs of brainwashed muslim lunatics in Libya and beyond will undoubtedly fall for this new Islamic conspiracy theory, because they're too ignorant to realize that 75% of the American people have never seen a Qur'an and wouldn't read one if it came free in the mail. The image of muslims and Islam couldn't be tarnished by forged Qur'ans; their images are thoroughly and accurately deprecated by the real thing. Kentucky Gentry--a small correction re Ergun Caner. He's an American; either born to Turkish immigrant parents in the USA or naturalized at a young age due to his parents' naturalization (I forget which). However, it is true that he spent his early life as a Sunnite Muslim, converting to Christianity either in adolescence or young adulthood. He has a brother who made the same move, too.

Kepha, you are correct, I forgot to mention this. He actually has two other brothers, and both gave their heart to Jesus in their teens, and I believe one in his early twenties. I can't remember the one brothers name, but he helps Ergun write books, and he has a phd in church history.
