Islamabad, March 8, IRNA -- A parliamentary opposition alliance in the National Assembly on Tuesday criticised the new dress code for ir hostesses and lady police, demanding it should be made "Islamic".Four lady members from the Muttahida Majlis-e Amal, an alliance of
six politico-religious groups, through a calling attention notice
argued that the change in dress code was not in conformity with
Islamic teachings....State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Raza Hayat Harraj said that
the government always tried to keep in focus Islamic teachings, local
ulture and traditions as far as air hostess and lady police uniform
was concerned.
And who shall arrogate the right to decide what dress is islamic and what is not?
Why, the same flowing beards who've vigorously opposed female education and even female healthcare (by stipulating male doctors shouldn't treat female patierts and by disallowing females from studying medicine , nay studying , at all...)This happened in Afghanistan under Pak-sponsored taliban rule. The same Talibanis who inspire the rabid islamo-right in pakistan, btw.
I can just picture some Pakistani female policewoman breaking her neck trying to pursue a criminal in full Islmaic garb, they won't catch many.
I can just imagine the possibilities now if only the airlines were more based on sharia and jihad.

You will not catch me flying on a plane where the pilot is wearing a burqua.
More than a dozen bodies were found in a pile on top of the center pedestal in the cockpit of the doomed Saudia L-1011 that burned up on the ground in 1980 on the runway in Riyadh killing all 310 people on board. The crew was unable to control the panicked passengers who stormed the cockpit and overwhelmed the cabin crew who could not access the doors to execute the evacuation.
They want "hostesses" in burqas instead of cabin crew members who can save your life in an emergency? I say, let them have it. Couldn't be a more deserving "culture".
Moral of the story is do not elect muslims to government offices.

I checked your link to the Saudi airlines disaster - it appears their planes are staffed with Beavis and Butthead clones. Some excerpts below:
"Rescue crews were also not familiar with the exit locations on the aircraft and it was an incredible 23 minutes after engine shutdown before the fuselage was accessed. All 310 people aboard the aircraft were killed."
"The Second Officer, who was thought to be dyslexic, spent nearly all of his time searching through the aircraft's operations manual, the whole time repeating to himself "No Problem." In addition, the Captain did not warn the cabin crew to prepare for evacuation nor did he even indicate that an evacuation was going to take place. Instead, he told the flight crew NOT to evacuate after landing"
