Al Ayyam daily said the teenager was strangled by her 27-year-old brother on Wednesday in Bala'a town near the northern city of Tulkarem. Arrested by Palestinian security forces, the brother admitted he had killed her to "erase the shame" after her pregnancy began showing.He also admitted knowing that his sister had become pregnant because their father raped her. Police are now hunting the 52-year-old father, who witnessed the murder, and has since disappeared....
"The police did not arrest or even question the father," the group charged in an open letter published in another paper. Signed by the Palestinian Working Women's Society for Development, the letter called on the Palestinian parliament to adopt laws to protect women from all forms of violence.

Agreed, Cato - that would indeed be the more correct solution, and would actually be a real case of "erasing the shame".
Unfortunately, that sort of punishment can't be envisioned in islamic society, where it is ever the woman's fault. Too attractive, too promiscuously dressed, too obstinate, too talkative. I'm sure some people reading this will disagree. Good! Do so! And now point out where the reverse has actually occurred. That, I assure you, is rather unfortunately a much much harder task.

And this type of behaviour comes from supposedly the most educated arab society(per capita). Lord help us! The twisted mindset that is necessary to carry out this "revenge" act is but a microcosm of Islam's insane outlook on life. In addition, this woman contributed to her own demise by not going to the authorities immediately after her father "raped" her. I'm sorry that I don't have any sympathy left for her as it has all been used up by previous Islamic crimes against humanity. And no Naseem, don't tell me Islam is innocent and that this type of crime is just cultural. It takes an evil religion to nurture a society into this type of mindset. The idea that a woman or girl causes a muslim man to lose control is sick, sick, sick.
It is an admission by Islamic men that they are weak, lack self-control, and are obsessed with sex.
The spiritual life of a devot Muslim male must be completely a sham if he must have all temptation removed to be a good Muslim, or even a good human being for that matter.
Isn't it obvious to the most casual observer? Islam is just a boys club were the girls aren't allowed to know the secret password or enter the clubhouse.

To claim that you have no self-control when it comes to women, is a great way to control women. It puts fear into them. Keeps them subjugated, submissive and obedient. Paralyzes many of them with fear so that they don't get any uppity ideas of being strong and free to do what they want with their lives. Hang shame over their heads all their lives, make them afraid of being brutally murdered for no valid reason whatsoever, and you've got a perfect way to coerce allegiance to your sick cult.
If women feel free and safe enough to have choices and maybe leave Islam, then Islam falls apart because there go their breeders.
