"The Prophet (peace be upon him) was the perfect role model in all situations"

Wouldn't it be important, with this kind of rhetoric going around, to know what the Prophet said and did? And how jihad terrorists make use of it? Apparently not. "The Prophet as a Man - 29: Perfect Role Model in All Situations," from Arab News, with thanks to JJP Mackie:

The Prophet (peace be upon him) was the perfect role model in all situations, including those that do not have a religious aspect. This is due to the fact that he lived in accordance with the Qur'an and was keen to implement its values and principles. A well-known Hadith speaks of Aishah being asked about the Prophet's manners. Her answer was simple: "His manners were the Qur'an." What she meant was that the Prophet was keen to implement the Qur'an, its morality and social values in every situation.

I have considerable respect for the writers at National Review but they’ve become wobbly when it comes to Islam. Who can forget the excellent reality-check on Islam by Paul Johnson published shortly after 9/11? In case you don’t remember, here is the link: http://www.nationalreview.com/15oct01/johnson101501.shtml

Here was one of the few voices of clarity. The C-span appearance of Robert Spencer’s bookstore appearance was another. Between National Review and Jihad Watch, only one has been able to maintain the focus on the reality of the situation. Keep up the good work.

Biographies of Muhammad, uswa hasana, al-insan al-kamil:

1) Sir William Muir, "The Life of Mahomet," one-volume (abridged) edition available from Kessinger Reprints.

2) Arthur Jeffery, "Muhammad and His Religion"

3) Tor Andrae, "Muhammad"

4) Maxine Rodinson, "Muhammad"

Muir can be read and re-read, at any point, with pleasure, and at the moment. You have to accept the ungainly size of the book; the reward is the prose. The others are shorter but also good.

And of course, all the Muslim versions can also be read. They do not differ in the facts, but only in the meaning with which those facts are endowed. To a Believer, Muhammad can do no wrong. Non-believers may beg (and in a Muslim-ruled society, even begging would not help) to differ.

There is some stuff by William Muir online here:

http://www.muhammadanism.org/Controversy/p2.htm

and some other stuff written a long time before political correctness.

www.muhammadanism.org is a very good site, with a rather old fashioned feel to it. I like the word Mohammadan because it is derogatory and accurate. The word Muslim means 'one who submits', so if you use that word you're almost buying into their value system.

OT still gritting my teeth about that stooopid muhammadan schoolgirl in a sack. Wish Robert Spencer hadn't reminded me of it as I'll be fuming all evening... well at least till Footballers' Wives comes on the telly.

I hope National Review does keep up the good work and the latest bit of dhimmitude is an aberration.

The easiest and cheapest read of Muhammads life is the book by Maxime Rodinson, it certainly opened my eyes as to the nature of the beast.

The religion was, until the mid 20th Century and the influx of Muhammdans called Muhammadanism or Mohametism, which is it's correct designation since the ideology is based on the putative words and life of one man, Ubu'l Kassim or calling him Muhammad is also playing into their ideology for it means "Praised one" (Praised by Allah that is).

Muslim does not mean Submission, Islam means submission. It means a believer in or adherent of Islam.

BTW, I just googled muslim origin word and the returns were hilarious, one site (www.muslimwomen.com) claims that Muslims discovered the Canary Islands and were in America before Columbus, there revisionist claims have no end either, they also claim that John Locke was influenced by the Qur'an, and alternatively so was Thomas Jefferson and that the Declaration of Independence is Qur'anic.

I know that you cling to your hopes and idols Interestd, but a sell out is a sell out and National Review sold out period.

You call it an aberration, but it is a sell out pure an simple, it means that they lack principles, and are afraid of Muslim money and/or power.

Actually, Giaour, the word Muslim is indeed related to Islam. I did not say that it was the abstract noun 'submission', but the person who submits, or the 'submitter'. The prefix Mu- denotes 'a person who does something'. The root, containing the letters s, l, and m, is like 'salaam', meaning peace. Islam is submission, and Muslim is one who submits to Allah.

The same principle can be seen if you compare the word 'jihad' (holy war) with Mu-jahid (holy warrior = a person who does holy war). Vowels in Arabic seem to be less fundamental than consonents.

And again: 'shirk', the sin of associating persons with Allah, and Mu-shrik(?), polytheists.

And again: 'Haj' = pilgrimage and Mu-haj-iroun (emigrants).

Interestd,

Nice post. I went on that site and read some of the essay - it was very similar to that which I've seen on islamofacist sites. Surprising how little's changed in religious comprehension in islam for all this time.

Their Prophet{piss upon him}is the perfect role model for Evil.
Islam is the world upside down, doing evil is good, doing good is evil. This Multi-cultural pipe dream that all of us can live together
in peace and harmony is beyond ridiculous, take Islam out of the equation and we may have a chance of all living together peacefully.

The hateful rhetoric of this false prophet reverberates as loudly today as it did in the dark ages. Political Correctness allows the notion that the teachings of Jesus need to be scrutinized daily by the likes of the ACLU {supporters of pedophiles}, while allowing the premisethat Islam is the true religion of peace go unchallenged.

Those who have dedicated their life to expose the hate contained within the Islamic texts are labeled as mere racists, since when is a religion a race? The brave men and women who daily exposeIslam are doing the world a great service, and I would like to pass on my eternal gratitude to you, for you are fighting against
a tide of PC intolerance{appeasement}.

Islam seeks to enslave humanity; of that there is no doubt. Submission to the demon known as Allah or the love of Christ, what a conundrum
the world is facing. But thanks to people like George Soros and fellow anarchists on the left, it is America that’s being portrayed as the aggressor in this global conflict. Muslims are emboldened when they see Americans argue amongst themselves, be in no doubt as to the demonic intentions of this Leftist/Jihadi nexus within your own country

If this is true about Mohammad, then why don't all Muslim men have their hair dyed henna?

The apostate liars!

I know you couldn't trust them to remain true to the word of the prophet!

And why aren't more of them marrying 9 year olds!

Answer me that, deceiving dogs of Allah!
