I have no idea which Cardinal would be a good Pope, but I am beginning to think that Belgium's Cardinal Danneels might not be the best choice. "Muslim group transforms chapel in Brussels as Cardinal Danneels departs for Rome," from the Catholic Church Conservation Blogspot, with thanks to Paolo:
In the centre of Brussels, there is the beautiful Church of the Minimes. It contains a Chapel in the form of the Holy House of Loretto which was built at the same time as the Church. A house of low repute was demolished to make way for the Church and there used to be an inscription in the Church, "Where once stood a temple of Venus, now stands a shrine to Our Blessed Lady." But now can it be said? The Chapel is now being desecrated by an occupation by a group of Kurds. They claim to be on hunger strike. Why choose a Catholic Church when there are so many other places in Belgium to protest? But is the Chapel now being used as a mosque? The Vicariat of Brussels have neither confirmed nor denied this, despite several e-mails. The altar has been moved. The statue of Our Lady has been covered by a cloth in such a way that she is mostly hidden from the eyes of the occupants....
There is a track record of occupations of Belgian Churches by Muslim groups. The Beguinage Church, one witness alleged was "trashed". This is more than supported by its present state. The Church of the Holy Cross has been occupied. The Church of the Minimes was also occupied two years ago. Children were seen sitting in the priests' chairs in the sanctuary.
The Church authorities no longer defend the inheritance of the Churches. In the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, a banner hangs bearing the name of Allah.

I hope this historical injustice will soon be corrected and the mosque be replaced by a temple of Venus.
Those pictures will make a few million muslims very proud...

I can remember a day when TV viewers just thought the writers of "Yes, Prime Minister" were being witty when they wrote an episode where the PM was trying to decide who to back as a candidate for Archbishop of Canterbury and the name of a Muslim was bruted about because at least he believed in God.
What the f*ck is this sh*t!
Using this tactic with perseverance and lack of commitment and moral courage of non-Muslims, all churches and other sacred sites will fall to Islam...if we let them. It's only up to us.
Oriana Fallaci has described in "The Rage and the Pride" the way in which certain priests permitted Muslim squatters to live in churches, where they urinated and defecated, and filled the churches with rubbish. This did not happen once or twice, but repeatedly. The same treatment, of course, was given to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem by the "Palestinian" fighters (i.e., local Arab Muslims) who took it over knowing that while they could do to the church what they wanted, the Israelis would be careful to do everything possible not to damage the church.
The destruction of statues is another problem. Statues are forbidden in Islam. One should not, according to a celebrated Hadith, enter a house where either "dogs" or "statues" are within. However, as Al-Qaradawi says in his popular guide to the Haram and the Halal, if a statue has been rendered innocuous by being defaced in some way, so that it is no longer an object of veneration or beauty, then it need not be destroyed altogether. How nice.
In northern France a statue of Jesus and Mary was vandalized; in Rome, in the Piazza del Popolo, other statues have been damaged. Data on Muslim vandalism of artworks of all kinds has not been published. Nor does one know about any efforts by international groups dedicated to the preservation of art to dare whisper about this problem.
If you woke up tomorrow, and read that Michelangelo's Pieta had been destroyed, or that the entire Louvre had been bombed -- as a godless place, showing godless things that no one needs -- would you any longer be surprised?
No, you would not. You would comprehend at once.
And that is the problem -- you would comprehend at once, and so would Western governments, so would everybody. So what is being done, exactly, to educate people about this possiblity, about its ideological roots, and about the incompatibility of Islam, in every respect, with Western civilization?
Why is it left up to private parties, with few resources? Where is the support? Where are the governments? Where are all those self-satisfied members of the Westen world, who think things will just continue to go on as before?
All I can say is "what the hell is going on here". Is Europe so enervated that it permits this type insult and scarilege to it's heritage. If so, then all is truly lost for them. Just unbelievable.
What exactly is the problem? Just make sure to take your dog with you, or both dogs or a pack of dogs. Seeing-eye dogs, watch dogs, guard dogs, pet dogs, small dogs, Elkhounds, Alsatians, Whippets, Bull-dogs, Dobermen pinchers, Jack Russels, Greyhounds, chihuahuas, beagles, bassets, borzois, afghans, blood-hounds. Use your imagination and man's best friend. If that doesn't dislodge them, then we are truly done for.
Just last week on PBN there was a special on Afghanistan where the employees of both the National Art Museum and the National Historical Film Society defied the taliban and either hid films or a doctor who was an artist actually repainted over as many as 1000 original oil paintings with watercolor paint and 'painted out' the people and animals so that the taliban would not destroy them. After they destroyed the copies of the films the taliban patroled the museums weekly looking for hidden art works and said they would kill anyone hiding them.
Since this is the same thing that is going on everywhere WHY doesn't the average person understand that islam is NOT conductive to peace much less life?

This photo should have been included in Bat Ye'or's latest book, "Eurabia." This is absolutely disgusting! Are there any readers from Belgium? What is the press saying about this? How about a reaction by the Catholic church?

In response to your question re: European lethargy here, the answer must be "Yes."
That's what happens when the nihilists take over your institutions, including the educational system. Generation after generation of people pour out of the schools just not giving a damn.
I saw the new version of "Brave New World" last night on TV. In it, there was one little boy who kept appearing in different scenes. At the very end, after the couple that were the protagonists had escaped, the little boy, still "inside," was seen putting cotton in his ears to prevent the indoctrination that went on all night from reaching his brain.
Europe and Canada have already fallen; now we are also in danger of becoming the nihilists' dream of a Brave New World.
We must take back our institutions, including especially our educational system, whence come all those who form the rest of our institutions.
First the churches. Then all of Belgium. You give them an inch they will take a mile. That's why they must not be allowed to pray at work or allowed to wear the hijab to school.Gradualy, piecemeal and step by step that's how they islamize a place.
These Kurds are demanding Asylum.
The Churches here are mainly open places that shelter people who ask for help.
For that reason pastor allowed them to protest in his Church. The Police cant remove them without clearance from the Church, otherwise it will sprout "controversy" and the Dimmi Goverment will be b*tching around. Ofcourse they can pray....the Church is "openminded".
The needy have to be helped and the goverment has nothing to say to the Church on who it offers shelter, something called seggregation of Church & State.
Last time I remember, Danneels was not really happy with the previous type of protest.
Its not a mosque, its a "Church" which is used as a mosque for some moments whilst the Kurds continue their 'Hungerstrike'.
The question is wether or not they're trully on hungerstrike.
Do not forget the Bamiyan Buddha statues destroyed by Taliban. Afganistan was once the center of Buddhist culture. There is no trace of buddhism left Afghanistan. Thousands of peaceful buddhists were killed by the cruel invading Muslims. People of Europe, wake up and defend your culture and religion.
I am not Catholic, but his makes me heart sick.
#1- It would cost too much to feed all those dogs.
I recommend statues of dogs.
#2- The real question is whether it will remain a mosque for just those few moments.
If christians don't stand up for their own religion, then who will.
Hugh,
Some-one has to start catalogueing the damage done to statues and artworks done by muslims.
Otherwise each case will be seen as an isolated incident.
Belgium will host the first great battle between European Christians and the people who pray five times a day to Satan. The EU's most boring country will soon become the centre of the neo-Crusade.
Just like Arafat's goons running into the church in "palestine", then shooting at the IDF, and joining the "christians" in shouting "LOOK AT THE JEWS!!! THEY'RE SHOOTING AT A CHURCH!"
Get used to it, bible thumpers! The Muslims are taking over, and your "leaders" aren't doing anything to stop it... they're more interested at fighting the liberals and preventing abortion. (And scooping up those sweet, green Saudi petro-dollars.)
"Islam:the cure for all illnesses!!",reads a huge billboard that has just been erected in uptown Chicago.....
Slowly but surely ,islam is methastasizing all over the world .
Have we westerners lost all desire to preserve our own civilization, traditions and national identities??!!
I can't help myself, but since cubed is on his nihilism kick, one more time
Death to the world, Orthodox Christian Nihilism
'I'm Ready to Die'Fundamentalist Christianity Instills in Millions of American Followers a Depressing-and Dangerous-Nihilism
What's that? You take exception. He who is without sin cast the first stone, take the beam out of thine own eye, before telling your brother about the mote in his, he who lives in glass houses and all of that stuff.
Seems to me that monotheism, at it's core is nihilistic, with all of it's end times prophecy and revelations (and where did ole Mo get his ideas from anyway?) From exposure to the Jews and Christians that's where.
Yes as a matter of fact, too many Muslim like, self righteous ideologues, wrapped up in their own theocratic notions and hatred of "liberals".
Instead of building bridges and uniting society, the build walls and alienate natural allies.
If it ain't Protestants v Catholics, it is Christians v modernists (aka liberals).
Meanwhile there sits the moslemah, which unites despite differences, when they perceive that the ummah is under attack.
I wonder what "good catholics" like Gary thinks of Pope Leo XIII's encyclical Rerum Novarum Probably call it leftist, liberal commie trash. Most certainly Karl Rove, the RNC and our "compassionate conservative" President and the Cato Institute and AEI would, especially when the regnant corporate ideology is privatization and to hell with health care, education, social security, decent wages and labor laws.
some quotes:
The oppressed workers, above all, ought to be liberated from the savagery of greedy men, who inordinately use human beings as things for gain. Assuredly, neither justice nor humanity can countenance the exaction of so much work that the spirit is dulled from excessive toil and that along with it the body sinks crushed from exhaustion. The working energy of a man, like his entire nature, is circumscribed by definite limits beyond which it cannot go.
Equity therefore commands that public authority show proper concern for the worker so that from what he contributes to the common good he may receive what will enable him, housed, clothed, and secure, to live his life without hardship. Whence, it follows that all those measures ought to be favored which seem in any way capable of benefiting the condition of workers. Such solicitude is so far from injuring anyone, that it is destined rather to benefit all, because it is of absolute interest to the State that those citizens should not be miserable in every respect from whom such necessary goods proceed. (#51)
I have no problem with what the Pope wrote, giaour. The problem needs to be solved.
What I DO have a problem with is how your mindset would solve the problem. Equity by making everyone equally miserable- not to mention second class to your elite- is not the way to go.

Is Marxism a Secular Religion?
http://www.skepticfiles.org/atheist/marxdoc.htm
You had also complained that the US replaced Saddam's secular government with a religous one. That is appearing to be the case- but you do see where this is going: We want guarantees.
But enough of this. One only has to Hint they believe in a higher power, to be grouped with fanatics in your mind.
This is Jihad Watch and Dhimmi Watch. Once this war is past, you can pick up on your own.
Looks like Belgium and Sweden have already "gone green", I'd say Holland and the UK will soon join the Euro-caliphate too. I hear there are several thousand Muslims in Dublin and Cork too.
Anyone know what the situations like in Eastern Europe ? I assume theyre not quite as dhimmified as Western Europe.
And why are these squaters being tollerated so much? We know as a certainty that if christins did the same thing to a mosque there would be mass media hysteria and a frenzy of outrage in the muslim community.
Years ago the saying on the western cultural barn yard door was "erradication of all civilisations is bad."
Now someone in the middle of the night rewrote the message on the animal farm door and rewrote when no-one was looking...
"Erradication of western civilisation gooooooood.
Erradication of Islamic civilisation baaaaaaaaad."
It was the evil, fat and morally corrupt politically correct pig that did it. OINK OINK!!!!
KJ--You wrote: Get used to it, bible thumpers! The Muslims are taking over, and your "leaders" aren't doing anything to stop it... they're more interested at fighting the liberals and preventing abortion.
Well, the beleaguered Western world could use a little demographic help, don't you agree? Maybe that would be a good reason overturn Roe v. Wade? And, since I answered your question on how to get into the foreign service a month or more ago, do so, then work a visa line in some country where Americans are adopting children, listen to their tales of why they didn't adopt Stateside on the day unofficially called "baby day" (processing immigrant visas for Americans' adopted children), and tell me about "unwanted" children. I promise you, nothing will be prouder to be an American, and serving the taxpayers of our great republic.
Also, I do recall that Franklin Graham (son of Billy) and Jerry Falwell both called Islam Satanic and maybe even mentioned Muhammad's paedophilia right after 9/11, and the whole liberal MSM was on them toute de suite. So, who was making sure the dhimmis stayed in their place?
As for me, I think it's enough to say Islam is a man-made cult (we humans have enough evil in our own hearts to give Satan a pretty long vacation if he wants it).
I know that many people will be criticasing the Catholic Church for this, I am very ashamed for this, because is a sacrilege and this has to be removed. It´s very hard to see.

Quite possibly, as Belgium has been the ground of choice for major battles and wars.
I think, were I there, I'd simply walk over, take down the banner, and enjoy a big greasy bacon sandwich. Maybe I'd bring some for everyone to enjoy. Whether they liked it or not.

PS: The guy in the blue suit in the picture is turning to the one in the green and asking:
"Dude, got a naked picture of your sister? No? Want to buy one?"

The desecration is extending out of the Chapel and into the main Church. The group at the door effectively prevents access by the faithful, unless they are very brave.
