"Four troops killed in Algeria violence," from the Washington Times, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:
Algiers, Algeria, Muslim gunmen killed four army troops and a municipality guard in an attack in eastern Algeria, reports said Monday. The French-language daily Le Quotidien Du Rhone quoted security sources as saying members of the notorious Salafi Group for Daawa and Fighting, Algeria's most feared armed group, attacked a military patrol in the town of Swanin, 110 kilometers (68 miles) east of Algiers, Sunday morning, killing four troops and wounding more than 10 others....
May the internecine fighting go on forever, within all Muslim countries. Why should we Infidels want Muslim fighters to fight only Infidels abroad -- as the Saudi government hopes that it will (and would be happy to support them; it is only when they turn nasty and bite the corrupt Al-Saud hand that feeds them, that the Saudi government begins to "deplore" terrorism -- i.e., terrorism directed at themselves). Just as a Sunni-Shi'a fissure (or a war like the Iran-Iraq War) can use up Muslim resources and divert Muslim attention, would it not be good to tie them up in fighting regimes in dar al-Islam (which, by the way, are corrupt, but as in all Muslim countires, even fighting corruption must be seen in Islamic terms, defined islamically -- which is why the corrupt are not called "the corrupt" alone but also defined as "Infidels" which alone makes them deserving of downfall). Money spent by the Algerian military in protecting the regime is money it cannot spend helping spread Islam or fighting various Infidel countries.
And while conversion to Christianity is tiny, in Algeria, it is growing. And the Kabyles, though now allowed to speak Tamazight, will continue to grow restless under the Arab supremacist ideology --- which one hopes they will come to realize is not tangential to, but has always been part of, Islam.
