Indonesia: Cop declared suspect in church blast

I guess it all depends on what the role of Is is. From the Jakarta Post, with thanks to Twostellas:

National Police Headquarters has named a senior police officer as a suspect for his alleged role in last December's church bombings here.

Adj. Comr. Is, who serves with the Central Sulawesi Police, was named a suspect after a police investigation into his activities since January, said Central Sulawesi Police chief Brig. Gen. Aryanto Sutadi.

Adj. Comr. Is is the first senior police officer to be named a suspect in sectarian bombings in Central Sulawesi. Other police officers linked with bombings in the province have been low-ranking officers....

"The police officer is now being detained for questioning at National Police Headquarters in Jakarta. His wife was also arrested and is being questioned at Central Sulawesi Police Headquarters," Aryanto said.

Last December, hundreds of people in a church in Palu were praying when unknown assailants sprayed bullets into the congregation. Later that night, a bomb went off in another church in the city -- Immanuel Church -- injuring at least five people....

Palu is only a few hundred kilometers from the restive regency of Poso, where major bloody conflict took place in 2000. The sectarian conflict left some 2,000 Muslims and Christians dead and dozens of others fled the area for safety.

The worst thing about Islam is it's addiction to cowardly assassinations and cowardly warfare in general. I see the assassin's hand behind such beastly bombings and machine gunning of innocent non-Muslims and Iraqi Shi'ite civilians.

Islam has inspired assassin's cults. This website shows the Bin Laden connection

Essay:Al-Qaeda and The New Assassins: Thoughts on Reading Maalouf

The trial opens, Judge Louis Jourdan presiding, court officer B. B. King also in attendenace.

The prosecutor opens with his charge:

"Is -- you is" etcetera.

The defense attorney answers with a volley of his own:

"Is -- you ain't" etcetera.

And so on.

'Taint funny, McGee.

But who could resist?

No, Dennis:

The "worst thing" about Islam is that it consititutes conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit genocide. You see, that is its true nature.

Islam is designed to slaughter human beings (and does). And there is no end to the savagery it perpetuates as cold-blooded savagery is built into its very ideological foundation.

If we do not destroy Islam it is a certainty it will destroy humanity ultimately.

Oh and by the way Dennis, I'm willing to bet most of us are able to accurately imagine what your video contains...we've been seeing for some time now the manner in which Islam operates across our blood-stained planet. And it is as predictable as it is gruesome.

The "worst thing" about Islam is that it consititutes conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit genocide. You see, that is its true nature.

True and so is the rest of your post. Even the peaceful Muslims have a role, to flood the planet with Muslims, the demographic Jihad. They are well along in low birthrate Europe. Low birthrates for natives that is.

Looks like the police where standing in for the Jihadi,s. While the jihadi,s where celebrating christmas.

I need some help finding Koran quotes regarding the historical status of dhimmis in the conquered lands. I'm doing a speech next week in my class at the community college, and I've chosen the historical subjugation/persecution of the Christians in the ME. I have a lot of material, and I know a lot out of my head, but I'm having a hard time finding the exact quotes. Can anyone help me? You'd be doing a good deed by helping me educate some young minds on this terrible subject!

In any case, thank you Robert and Hugh for such a superbly informative website. I will refer to it in my speech, and hopefully plant some seeds of truth in young minds!

nichtdhimmi, here is one link you might use

wrong link, this one is the one you need

To nichtdimmi--

There are a thousand websites full of information. Start, however, with books -- including Bat Ye'or's "The Dhimmi," "Islam and Dhimmitude," and "The Decline of Eastern Christianity Under Islam."

Remember that the precise origins and dating of the Qur'an are not clear. And for Qur'anic passages about Jihad read Robert's "Onward Muslim Soldiers" and go to www.challenging-islam.org, or www.secularislam.org (find the essay by Ibn Warraq on passages about Jihad in the Qur'an), and Ali Sina's www.faithfreedom.org.

For scholarly material, go to www.dhimmitude.org or www.dhimmi.org. Keep looking around.

But do not limit yourself to the Qur'an. Make sure you explain carefully the role of the Sunna to Believers -- that is, the Custom of Islam that is derived, in turn, from the Hadith (the stories about the acts and sayings and even the silences of Muhammad) deemed "authentic" (there are hundreds of thousands of Hadith, but they were essentially studied, and winnowed, centuries ago by various experts, muhaddithin, and there are six collections that are considered the reliable ones, and among those six, the two best are those of Bukhari and Muslim.

And at www.usc.edu you can find various translations offered synoptically (i.e., placed side-by-side so you can compare them) of the Qur'an, and Bukhari's Hadith as well.

And do not forget to tell the class that Muhammad is considered a role model for all time. The Qur'anic phrase is "uswa hasana"; he is also al-insan al-kamil. Whatever Muhammad did, was right, and good. Well, among the things he did was instigate, or approve, the assassination of anyone he didn't like, such as the poetess Asma bint Marwan. He watched approvingly as 600-900 bound prisoners of the Banu Qurayza were decaptiated one by one. He ordered attacks on completely inoffensive people because he wanted to seize their property as booty, arrogating to himself 1/5 of everything that was taken (and in some cases, having slaughtered male relatives, he would take a woman as his wife or, if she refused, essentially as his sex slave).

You can find biographies of Muhammad by Professor Arthur Jeffery, Tor Andrae, Maxine Rodinson and my favorite, that by Sir William Muir. The latter, reprinted in the abridged (still enormous) version by Kessenger Publishing, can be ordered on-line, and costs $50. Steep, but endlessly interesting and horrifying.

Start with Bat Ye'or, then go to those websites and others that are recommended. Remember that the Qur'an talks about Jihad-conquest but without always using the word "Jihad." The word "qital" or combat, however, occurs 27 times. Passages that seem to Infidels quite unthreatening -- "struggle in the path of God" -- have a specific meaning, and that meaning is quite threatening.

Arm yourself with as much knowledge as you can acquire about Islam. There is nothing that upsets True Believers in Islam more than a well-informed Infidel. And do not accept the usual guff from those who claim that "everyone wants the same thing," the "three abrahamic faiths that share so much" and so on. Good God, no.

Thank you Carolyn, thank you Hugh! You have given me more than enough to work with. I want to thank you, Hugh, for this excellent website! I look at the world and what is going on and I am horrified. I lived in Europe for a while (Germany) until I just couldn't take the virulent anti-Americanism any more. I also lived for two years amongst the Egyptian Coptic community in Bani Mazar, central Egypt. I got more than an eyeful of the truth of what is really going on.

What depresses me the most is that the media sources in the West are feeding the people such mendacious pap along the lines of "religion of peace... dhimmis are protected people... we all are the same religion.. blah blah blah". Lies, all! And the cherry on top, is that now people who try to tell the truth, have to fear for their personal safety. Just recently in our local newspaper there was a letter to the editor from the local mosque for "ecumenical outreach", and I really wanted to reply to refute his claims of "religion of peace", but then a chill went through me, and I feared for my personal safety, being as my name would be published. How un-American is that, that I have to fear, for speaking my mind?

A dear friend of mine who spoke her mind on this subject was threatened with bodily harm by Muslims, and last month her house was burned down. (she's OK, thank God.)

People like you are the small lights in the darkness which give me some hope. But I still don't have much hope for the "Dar-al-Harb".

"And gentleman in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here..."

There is Shakespeare. That's for thoughts.

Sursum Corda. Corraggio. Onward and Upward.

And next week you will set them straight, or back on their heels or perhaps both.

Nichtdimmi:

Where was this? If you have a press link you should post it.

Geoff

Geoff,
It was in Michigan last month. Police investigation ruled it was arson. She had been repeatedly threatened by Muslims. A reward has been set, but there is no hard proof. Just the funny coincidence: threats, then 3 weeks later: house burned to the ground. Police are too busy over here with other things to investigate fully.

I should have written, above, "Coraggio" and not "Corraggio." Signor Signorelli would not approve.

Some rhotacism got mixed in with the rope-tricks here at the OK Corral.

Nichtdhimmi,

Figures. Please pass on the support of me, and I'd guess the other people here. Is there any way we can help her? How'd the islamicists find her? Why were they threatening her?

Geoff

From the blog "Dutch Report" http://dutchreport.blogspot.com/ for March 18, 2005 one finds a similar item about arson.

However, in this case it was not only a residence that was burned, but the 65-year-old Dutchman, a Mr. de Haas, who was burned alive, with a swastika carved on his door (De Haas is a Dutch name that can also be Jewish).

Here, cut-and-pasted from Dutch Report, is the item, which has received no coverage anywhere outside Holland, and little within:

"Racist bombing
Yesterday morning around 2.15 AM a house was firebombed in multicultural neighborhood Geuzenveld in the city of Amsterdam. Neighbors of the Pierre Cuypershof number 30 heart a laud explosion followed by smaller ones. They could not do any thing; the whole building was directly on fire. The just retired D. de Haas, a man of 65 years old, was likely burned alive and was later found by the firemen.

The police found evidence of arson and said that on the door there was a sign that looked like a swastika. Dutch language blog GeenStijl reports that just after the explosion a car with two people inside caught fire. This was very close to the burned down house. The fire in their car wounded both people. The blog says it is quite stupid to light a cigarette after an arson attack if your cloths are full of gas. But the police refuse to give any comments.

More pictures here (and here and here)

The murdered man was a native Dutch, who took care of a local playground. Neighbors say he had often trouble with Moroccan youth who made a mess on the playground.

Local newspaper Parool reports that the man was a racist: “After a burglary he was condemning all foreigners here”. But also Newspaper AD, report that the man was a racist, quoting his Turkish neighbor who said that he was known for his racist talk, he had said often that there were to many immigrants in the neighborhood (Dutch people are a minority in most areas of Amsterdam). A Moroccan woman from the neighborhood says she can understand the anger of the man: “The young [boys] hang around, act bothersome and make the atmosphere bad. But [he] should not become racist.”

On a nearby square, a group of 20 boys, nearly all from foreign decent are playing football. They had been looking that afternoon to the burned out house. One of them says he had once troubles with the man: “He said we made too much noise and that we shoot pick up our trash. Or otherwise back off to Turkey. But I am Dutch and my parents come from Morocco”.

But AT5, a local TV station, reports that his friends say that his critizism on foreigners has became fatal for him. And that althoug he was a big grubler he was absolutly not a racist. But the police says they have no idear what the motive was."

Make of that, and of what little has been made of it by others, what you will.

Geoff,

She used to go to a diner around the corner from her house, and recently management turned over to Muslims. She would frequently wear a large cross, being devout, and the Muslims approached her and involved her in conversation. They wanted to know what she thought of Israel, for example. Well, she spoke her mind. It's AMERICA, isn't it? I had a colleague, Lithuanian from the former Soviet Union, exclaim, see, that was her mistake. I threw all collegiality aside, skewered her in a stare, and stated loudly enough for more than a few to hear, this is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, we are supposed to be free here to speak openly. Anyway, they (the Muslims)apparently didn't like what they heard...

This is chilling. We are observing the grass-roots silencing of people who can engage in free speech, CLARIFYING the truth. I can only hope that actions speak louder than words, and God forbid, but I feel an inevitability about it happening, when more terrorist actions occur, the people will start looking at the actions, and not the false words, of the "RoP".
