From the SITE Institute, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
A message was recently posted on a jihadist forum discussing the acceptability of beheadings in jihad. Ultimately, the author sanctioned them as valid, in accordance with the beliefs of Muhammad....he refers to past precedents of executions in history, arguing that these examples in history "prove that killing people and slaughtering them is a Sunnah [an accepted Islamic practice]."
I guess in Islam we have "The Sermon In the Pit":
Blessed are those who make people into pieces, for they shall inherit whores in heaven with ever-renewing hymens.
Blessed are those who divorce their wives when they discovered that both of them shared the same black slave wet nurse as babies.
[Bukhari -Vol.7 62:41]
Blessed are those who cannot restrain their lust during wartime, so we will create the 'temporary marriage' to make it legal.
Ad nauseam...
Are we really so desperate to attack Islam that an interpretation of a message board post automatically reflects the religion?
Shukri,
Get real, this isn't the first and only time we have seen Islam interpreted in a way that justify's beheadings.
How many more times do we have to hear about it or witness what is SAID before the beheading, before we CAN consider that it reflects on the religion? I have heard of very few beheadings where it WASN'T done because because Islam called for it, according to their interpretation. I am done asking if this is a murderous act of a crazy person or if it is a religious act by a Muslim who percieves himself as more devout than most Muslims.

Well. . . There's actually just a tiny, eensy, weensy bit more to it than a single message board post, dear.
The Quran sanctions beheadings in certain situations, like against apostates and unbelievers who oppose Islamic rule, so why is this even a discussion? The Quran should be the final authority in lives of all muslims, so I'm sorry if any muslims are at war with the brutal reality of their own religious tradition. Muhammad had even people who insulted him and his claims to be a prophet beheaded including women. If Muhammad is supposed to be the perfect man and perfect example for all man kind for all of time as the muslims claim, and have always claimed, then certainly all muslims should find room for beheadings within their own religious convictions and doctrine. It is obsurd for them to claim otherwise, and even more obsured for non-muslims to believe them.
