Muslims to Pope Benedict XVI: Welcome. Now, play the dhimmi

A couple of interesting links about the reaction in the Islamic world to the new Pope, courtesy Dr JDJ.

First, from Egypt Election Daily News, "New Hope With New Pope":

Arab World Has Welcomed the Election of New Pope Benedict XVI

The Arab and Muslim world expressed their cautious hopes that he will bridge the divide between the world's different cultures and promote peace like his predecesor. There are hopes that he will bring a closer relationship between Christians & Muslims and fight islamophobia that has been promoted in Europe and America.

Wishes were expressed that he will have a back to basics stance and encourage Christians to 'Love Thy Neighbour' and deter facism and racism among politicians in the West. It is also expected that he will promote peace and justice in the Middle East and for Muslims generally.

And how might Pope Benedict XVI promote peace and justice for Muslims and combat "Islamophobia," that empty word behind which hides justification for all manner of jihadist atrocities? Well, for starters, he could take care of that apology for the Crusades about which Muslim authorities have been getting increasingly vocal. From Turkish Press, "The pope, Muslims, and an apology":

In February, Interfaith Dialogue Committee Chairman Fewzi Zafzaf submitted a written notice demanding that the Vatican apologize to Muslims for the Crusades.

Egyptian Islamic writer Mohammed Emara noted how the Vatican has apologized to Jews for its actions during the World War II, and said it should do the same thing now for the Muslims....

Now the Muslims are expecting such an apology to put an end to the crusader mentality, which still finds sustenance in Europe’s subconscious mind.

I hope the new pope will answer the Muslims’ call, because an apology from the Vatican would be the strongest political message for putting an end to the crusader mentality.

In The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam and the Crusades, my forthcoming book from Regnery Publishing, I demonstrate from the historical record that the "Crusader mentality" was not one of colonial conquest, or forced conversion, or plunder, but the defense of Christendom. Is the idea that the Western world should be defended one that Ferai Tinc, the author of this article, would like to see the new Pope repudiate?

I think Ratzinger will be just the ticket. From a NY Times article a few days ago:

"Cardinal Ratzinger, 77, the German who headed the department dealing with church doctrine under John Paul II, is one of the most conservative voices in the church... He represents a skeptical faction, one that sees the relationship between Christianity and Islam more in competition.

Last year, he said he personally opposed Turkey's inclusion into the European Union. "Turkey has always represented a different continent, always in contrast with Europe," he said in an interview with the Paris newspaper Le Figaro.

Cardinal Ratzinger has also worried about the moral and religious clarity that Islam has stirred among believers - a clarity he says has been lost in the Christian West.....he calls for Europe to renew its Christian roots "if it truly wants to survive." He has spoken of the use of talking with Muslims but said Christians should not rule out trying to convert them, a sensitive issue in Middle Eastern countries where Christians are a minority. "

Benedict XVI sounds tougher and more realistic on Islam than John Paul II was. I hope he keeps it up!

They'll wait for hell to freeze over before they get an apology from "Vatican tank" Ratz. And they can forget about any more Quran-kissing episodes too!

Suck it up Ummah -- this is the worst thing to happen to you since another Catholic, Jan III Sobieski, turned up at the gates of Vienna with 30,000 Polish hussars and kicked your sorry turban-headed asses back to Islamia in 1683.

Just as the selection of Carol Wojtiya was meant to embolden freedom lovers behind the iron curtain, we speculated that the next pope might come from a country suffering from Muslim oppression (Nigeria perhaps?).

But equally dangerous to civilization is the postmodernism that has exposed the West's soft underbelly to all the aggressive 'isms.

They did well to choose a pope from Western Europe (the heartland of postmodernism). Let's hope this empowers the decreasing number of Europeans who stubbornly cling to the belief in right and wrong.

This could be a the biggest triumph against postmodernism since the election of George Bush!

The Crusades were a response, limited in time and in space, to Muslim aggression in what Western Christendom regarded as the Holy Land. The Caliph Hakim's order to destroy the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in 1009 was not an isolated event. Other Christian sites were vandalized or razed. Christian pilgrims were murdered. The Crusades were a response to Muslim behavior. They were not an attempt to win back all of the vast territories conquered by Muslims, including Mespotamia, Syria, Egypt, and the rest of North Africa. They were intended only to regain possession of the Holy Land, and only because Muslim harassing of Christians was conducted with such ruthless ferocity.

"Islamophobia" is a word that was invented as an apotropaic verbal talisman to ward offcritical scrutiny. Such apologists for Islam, whether decked out as "reformers" or as "feminists" (such as Aziza al-Hibri, who a while back had Condoleeza Rice address her nearly-non-existent organization) went to the U.N. for its recent i"Islamophobia Day" to make all sorts of absurd remarks.

Apparently Muslims think it not cricket for non-Muslims to draw conclusions from observable behavior of Muslims around the world. Apparently it is unfair of non-Muslims to study the history of Jihad-conquest and of the Muslim treatment of non-Muslims under Muslim rule, whether those non-Muslims were Christians, Jews, Zoroastrians, Hindus, or Buddhists. Apparently it is bad form for non-Muslims to read and re-read, Qur'an and Hadith (in the same collections that Muslims regard as most authoritative), or to read the Sira (the biography of Muhammad). Apparently it will not do for non-Muslims to check in to Muslim websites, to see what they have to say in answer to various questions. Apparently it is outrageous for non-Muslims to consult the testimony and analyses of a growing number of articulate ex-Muslims, such as Ibn Warraq, Ali Sina, Azam Kamguian, and Ayaan Hrisi Ali.

"Islamophobia" -- a baseless, unreasoning fear of Islam and of Muslims -- does not exist. The entire weight of the world's press and the world's elites is to convince us, the hapless Infidels, that we have nothing to fear from Islam. But this is wrong. And that is why that press, and those ruling classes, are losing whatever authority they may have believed themselves to possess. It is not the only reason, but it is a big one.

If those in positions of power keep telling self-evident untruths about the theory and practice of Islam, rather than tell the truths that are becoming obvious to all who follow such matters, and if they further are derelict in their duty to instruct, then those in whose name they presume to speak will begin to look for others to lead them.

Catholics to Benedict XVI: Welcome! Now fight Dhimmitude!!

I am not Catholic, but his choice of the name Benedict XVI is supposedly prophetic. He is a warrior Pope. Saw this over at LGF...

BTW, I am not endorsing the link , I just think it is interesting reading.

I'm not Catholic either, but check out the photo on Drudge... ::::shudder:::: this guy looks kind o scary. Glad I don't report to him.

Check it out Shukri! www.DrudgeReport.com This will be your/muslims biggest foe! He doesn't look like he's a kisser of anything filthy, like the koran or any muslim fannies. Kudo's to the Catholics.

Christians aren't into those big fancy hats, robes, adornments, titles, statues, pomp or circumstance. Gotta love it. What a relief for me!

I believe I may hear some muslim butts puckerin up about now! "Holy Chit mohammed!"

LOL

P.S. To Carolyn2: Have you read any books by LaHaye/Jenkins? There are continuous references to the Pontiff throughout the entire series (I've read several...hubby's read all). Also, my husband and I both got the willies after following/reading the link you posted. Thanks for the time it took you to research, and thanks for sharing that very important Catholic prophecy... very important, and chilling, indeed.

Just Linda

Hi Linda, I read part of the first book in the series.
I am interested in biblical prophecy. I have an article somewhere that talks about the importance of Ariel Sharon,it will take me a while to find it, but I remember it was very interesting. It was written well before he was PM.

Afetr reading some of the postings on CAIR's website I got the impression that peace would be better served if the Pope was a Muslim.

Islam is a retro-active religion that took parts from the tenets of Jews and Christians,Muhammed then constructed a new version of what God really meant to tell the world,he heard voice in his head telling him to kill, rape, behead, lie, oppress women, force Islam on people, and protect the faith by giving a death-sentence to anyone that tries to leave it when they finally catch on that the Quran has NOTHING to do with GOD.
As long as Islam tells people that Jesus is a Muslim and his resurection was faked by using a look-alike to hang on the cross,I am one person that will never trust any Muslim that avers the idea of Islam and Christianity being the same faith.
The God of Christians doesn't tell follors to murder in his name to bring Peace on earth, next it will be the Hindu's and Budists being told they are really Muslims.

NO ISLAM - KNOW PEACE

I see that Meinherr Ratzinger is 77. He probably won't be around very long.

Germany is a self-divided mess, so this may be a way of bucking-up the wavering members of this EU power with some psychological reinforcement.

The last Benedict -the XVth- was Pope during the First World War, and the choice of this name can be considered a hint that we are in another kind of World War.

If the new leader of a billion Catholics is able to restrain the proseltyzing force of Islam in the spiritually and intellectually confused EU, then more power to him.

I was hoping for Brazil or Nigeria, but anyone with a spine will have to do in a pinch.

Dominus vobiscum.

Let his first act be a request for the Church of St. Sophia (the renamed "Ayasofia Camii" when it was 'turned into' a mosque) in Constantinople ("Istanbul" in pidgin Turkish) to be returned as a show of what a true 'religion of peace' Islam is.

It was the center of the Eastern Church, and its return to the new Pope by Islam, who could then give it back to its original owners, the Orthodox wing of Christianity, would heal the millenia-long rift between the Eastern and Western Churches.

And would be the first generous act by Islam in its entire history.

The pope can apologize for the Crusades as soon as Turkey apologizes for the Armenian Genocide.

The new Pope's has a longtime nickname: "Panzer"

The Islamic world should work on cleaning itself up. As a "society", they're a bleeding mess.

Duh....

The new Pope has a longtime nickname: "Panzer"

The Islamic world should work on cleaning itself up. As a "society", they're a bleeding mess.

I wish that just once, a powerful, respected voice in the Catholic Church would tell it like it is and remind the brazen muslims of a few historical facts regarding the Crusades. Perhaps that would shut their arrogant mouths once and for all.

Why is it that nobody has the guts to respond to their lies, distortions, exaggerations and hypocrisy? Christianity in general is denigrated, condemned, criticized, and damned daily by a variety of groups who insist that it is responsible for all of the pain, suffering, war, injustice and inhumanity inflicted on mankind. Europeans have abandoned Christianity en masse and allowed Islam to step in and become the dominant faith in Europe.

Maybe if the church leaders defended Christianity instead of constantly apologising for it, it would be more appealing to people. No question about it, Christians committed some despicable atrocities centuries ago. Muslims have been committing despicable atrocities since the advent of Islam, continually. Muslims totally ignore their bellicose history because they were doing what their religion teaches--conquering, killing, converting, pillaging and plundering for allah. It is ironic that the crimes of the Christians were not sanctioned by Christianity and were entirely antithetical to Christian teachings. Well-meaning, albeit misguided, human beings took it upon themselves to speak for God and to act on His behalf. Muslims have been speaking for allah and acting on his behalf since he was spawned by muhammad's psychotic imagination, as taught and demanded by Islamic doctrine.

If the new pope apologises for the Crusades, he will affirm to muslims that their quest to conquer the world for Islam is a legitimate one. That would be a tragedy. It's time for Christians to DEFEND Christianity and if that means resorting to some of the same tactics muslims use to defend their death cult, so be it.

To Ray: it will take a lot more than just apologising to the Armenians (altho' that is part of the deal)to wipe out the offense done by Muslims to non-Muslims.

Muslims have a whole mess of apologies to make before they are admitted to the civilised world. Until then: stay out and stay away.

Here is an extract from a Charles Moore article in the Daily Telegraph

In his cast of mind the new Pope is rather more sombre than his predecessor. He is more disturbed by false argument, less optimistic about the immediate prospects for mankind. He believes, as he told the conclave this week, that the "dictatorship of relativism" is tyrannising the modern world.

free registration is required but it is a paper worth reading, if only for the occasional Mark Steyn masterpieces

At risk of provoking his return, in case anyone remembers, or cares, so much for Giaour's career as a pundit:

Prediction: The next Pope will be an ultra conservative dhimmitized African. And BTW African is not code for "black" either, but the continent.

I e-mailed a comment several days ago. It has not been posted. How long does it take?
