Riyadh - Saudi Arabia has detained 40 Pakistani Christians for holding prayers at a house in the Muslim kingdom, where practicising any religion other than Islam is illegal, newspapers said on Saturday.A group of men, women and children were attending the service in the capital Riyadh when police raided the house, Al Jazirah newspaper said.
It said authorities also found Christian tapes and books.
Another Saudi daily, Al Yaum, said the raid took place on Friday while a Pakistani preacher was delivering a sermon. It was not clear what measures might be taken against the group.
Saudi authorities were not immediately available to comment.
There are around six million foreigners in the conservative kingdom, which has a population of 23 million, including many Christians from Europe, North America, Asia and other Arab states.
In a rare official rebuke of a close ally last year, Washington accused Saudi Arabia of severe violations of religious freedom.
"Freedom of religion is not recognized or protected under the country's laws and basic religious freedoms are denied to all but those who adhere to the state-sanctioned version of Sunni Islam," the State Department said in an annual report...

From what I have observed, the left firmly believes in multi-culturalism and cultural relativism; they are bending over backwards to achieve solidarity with their Muslim brothers, who are as dedicated to destroying Western civilization as they are. They don't seem to realized that once they and the Muslims take power that the Muslims will turn on them and eat them alive as they did in Iran. They have completely bought into the idea that the West has brought nothing to the world but imperialism, colonialism and is actively making people poor and miserable throughout the world. Poverty is caused by wealth doncha know? They are the classic self-hating Westerners who can see nothing good about Western civilization. Not only that; they offer only criticism and have no ideas about what they would replace this "hell on earth" with that we have here in North America and Europe. Noam Chomsky,etc. should all be deported to Saudi Arabia or Iran where, presumably, they would be so much happier!
Having said that, I know that I am generalizing and that their are people on the left out there who are able to hold two contradictory thoughts in their head at the same time but really there are not many. Any time I talk to a leftist, I am always struck by how quickly we get into conspiracy theories about how the world is run by secretive groups of capitalists for their own gain, etc.; how nothing any government says can be trusted; how our minds are all controlled by our cultural milieu and if we could just get past our cultural conditioning we could see just how miserable we really are. For heaven's sake, these guys should go visit Mozambique or Zimbabwe and see how people live there; of course, they would say that the reason people live like that there is because the rich countries are exploiting and oppressing them. Everything that goes wrong in the world is always the West's fault. Like Robert Mugabe or Pol Pot don't have anything to do with conditions in Zimbabwe or Cambodia. Excuse me?

Isn't it ironic, the Saudis arrest peaceful Christians for praying and C.A.I.R., a Wahabbi-backed and funded group of anti-American, terror-supporting pigs, screams every time one of our law enforcement agencies busts another Islamic terror cell in the U.S. I can't wait for Islam to become illegal in the U.S.
After a few more terror attacks in America the apologists, appeasers, liars, and multiculturalist idiots will run and hide, the latter to ponder what went wrong with their utopian dream society, the former to save their pusillanimous asses. I can't wait to see the muslims scrambling en masse to exit the Great Satan, assuming any of them are still alive to make their great escape.
When, not if, another terrorism attack happens inside of the United States I hope that the CAIR management gets indicted and sent to prison then killed hopefully while they are in prison. If not killed in prison then deported to some place like Sudan. If a big enough event happens in the US then the streets may go wild and let justice happen before a court date can even happen. If I am on the jury it will be an easy accquittal for who gives CAIR what they deserve. If it is possible to have a healthy hate then that is what I have for CAIR. I just really want to see them get theirs.
Well, at least our "saudi friends and allies" are consistent in playing their double game, trying to convince the west that they're, well, friends and allies, while at the same time, trying to convince their islamofaschist subjects that they are devout muslims and hate infidels.

Americans need to protest outside the Saudi embassy and mosques funded by the Saudis. Or would it be better to try to collect signatures from mosque-goers for a petition to send to the Saudi government?
