SRINAGAR, India - Suspected Muslim rebels in Indian Kashmir killed two civilians and injured 17 in a grenade attack in a busy market, police said.The attack took place in Sopore, 50 kilometers (30 miles) north of Srinagar, summer capital of Indian Kashmir where a deadly revolt against New Delhi's rule has raged for 15 years, claiming tens of thousands of lives....
The attack came two days after Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf ended a visit to India during which the nuclear-armed neighbours pledged to reach a "final settlement" on Kashmir over which they have fought two of three wars.
The attack also came a day ahead of the second run of a historic bus service linking the Indian and Pakistani zones of the region that is claimed in full by both South Asian countries...
Mr. Spencer, why do you completely fail to give us a complete picture of the situation? Is it because you seek to portray Muslims as out to kill all non-Muslims for no reason (other than Islam) and mention of abuses by non-Muslims as a possible reason for violence by Muslims would destroy your premise?

There is no final settlement with Pakistan, for there is no final settlement that will satisfy Muslims save first for all of Kashmir, and then for Muslim India, bit by bit, to be resurrected -- through demography naturally, not force of arms. But the goal must remain. It cannot be otherwise. Or if someone believes it can, it would be fascinating to hear how they expect the doctrine that uncompromisingly divides the world between dar al-Islam and dar al-harb will be suddenly turned off, because a smiling Pakistani leader told a smiling Indian leader that such a settlement was possible.
It isn't. They can come up with something. It may sound good. But whatever it is, it won't be a "final settlement." Not as long as Pakistan remains Muslim.
