Afghan clerics defer jihad call against U.S.

I don't know about the "retraction" by Newsweek. I listened to an interview yesterday evening on CBC Radio's flagship current affairs program "As It Happens" and the spin around the use of uncorroborated claims was dizzying, even for the Newsweek perps and the CBC. (I suspect there's a transcript on the CBC's website for anyone who has nothing better to do with their time than to dissect it.)

The clerics in Badakhshan province said on Sunday the United States should hand anyone guilty of desecrating the holy book to a Muslim country for prosecution in three days or they would declare jihad, or holy war, against the United States.

OH NO! They're going to declare WAR! What do we do? They're coming! They're coming! There's nowhere we can hide that will be safe! All... several THOUSAND of them are going to... um... borrow money from Saudi Arabia and fly here... and attack us! God is on THEIR side! What will we do! Will I be safe if I convert to Islam?

Seriously, imagine these lowlifes thinking that they can actually declare war on something. What a joke. Oh yeah, we're going to hand over some Marines so you can "try" them for "desecrating" your fairytale book. I guess your star witnesses will be the Gitmo detainees, right? So we'll have to turn them loose so they can go to Afghanistan and attend the "trial."

What a joke. Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, et al. are ALLOWED to exist ONLY BECAUSE America lets you. Don't forget that. You MIGHT get your grubby little dickskinners on a dirty nuke, but WE have the ICBMs, THOUSANDS of them. We could send every Muslim from Egypt to India into exile and make the whole damn thing part of America or even Israel if we wanted to.

The bottom line is that IF we were one-TENTH as ruthless and mean as you guys have been, you'd ALL BE GONE.

Wow.. I'm so RELIEVED that the jihad against America has been "called off". However, it's my understanding that jihad was declared WAYYY back in the 80's and was successfully executed on 9/11/01. Bring it on you neanderthal whores of satan.. We're armed, and we're ready.... it's time. Let's get it on.

It also is interesting that Muslims and this book have been dishonored in China, yet do we hear one peep about this from the Muslim street?

And the Palestinians used pages from the Bible as toilet paper when they took over the church in Bethlehem...but that was ok.

As usual they are just following their founder who used the pretense of religion to implement his political aspirations to subjugate and to rule the world.

KJ raises a good (if angry! =) j/k chief) point here: the whole "peace of islam" thing has long been founded on the idea that islam "must protect itself" from the evil West, which wants to destroy it. Hence, the need for jihad and arms and this supposed "defensive" perspective of Sura 9.

(Also, apparently, in particular that fuzzy on-again off-again "honour" thing must also be defended, which appears from the examples best done in islam by butchering ex-wives or mouthy teenage girls. But I digress.)

And yet, the West possesses staggering levels of military power; enough to frankly conquer every single islamic nation currently in existence and, were they the jackbooted fascists that some like to crow (although I'm personally not in favour of the war in Iraq either), wipe out their populations or free them from islam altogether. Yet, despite provocations and what is clearly developing into a massive clash between civilizations, they do not do so. Why not? Could it have something to do with their core JudeoChristian ideologies?

And, if the situation were reversed, what actions would the muslim nations of the world put their armies to, if indeed this global caliphate, with slavery for all (in the mind, for muslims, in the body, for women, and in the heart, for all the rest), is the undisputed goal of islam?

Some questions really need no answer.

KJs point should be recognized by more islamics. At our fiercest, we could completely eliminate any and all islamic population centers. We could walk into a depopulated land at our leisure and take any oil. At their fiercest, they can eliminate a small number of people. 3,000 people is definitely not 'small', but relative to what we could do if we unleashed everything we had it sure is.

Nothing illustrates the difference in our outlook and moral grounding better than the fact that we have not simply wiped them out.

For the sake of argument, assume that an Islamic Ummah had a vast military superiority over the Infidel world. Could anyone imagine them allowing such a thing as an intifada to continue??

If some region had a necessary resource, do you think they would negotiate with locals or would they basically just take the place as Dar Al Islam? It would just be an extension of Mohammed's caravan raids, and the locals would have no recourse.

The thought of Islam with the same military superiority that we have developed is pretty bleak for any but muslims. If Islam had our abilities, we would not exist any more.

By the way, It would take some major transport to carry all the Americans who wiped with, tore, pissed on, burned, menstruated on (fill in your favorite desecration) simply because of these idiotic threats and riots. If I buy a book, any book, and want to feed it to pigs in my country, I won't, appologize to anyone.

Sorry about the rant, but these creeps really piss me off.

After my previous rant was posted, I noticed Geoff already had a similar thought posted, but in a more controlled and clear way. I hope people out there appreciate the restraint that has been extended to these people while increasing the danger to our soldiers, and our entire population.

This clerics demand and threat of war is comical considering the gauntlet was thrown down long ago. He is really not much more than a pain in the ass.

When a boil gets too painful, a thinking person will eventually lance it even if he knows it will hurt for awhile.

I still don't understand how a population that goes ass-up five times a day can be that hard to kill. That's five daily opportunities to get the drop on them and they're not even moving targets, except the occasional up-and-down to frustrate head shots.

Bury the scum in pork fat and have done with it.

"You can see what repayment we got for 'hosting' these so-called guests," said Archbishop Ironius, according to the Times report.

In 1941, over 100,000 Bosnian Muslim conscripts were available to fight in the military formations of the Third Reich. Bosnian Muslim soldiers were in the Ustasha death squads, the Domobranci (Home Guards), and the Croatian Army. Bosnian Muslim soldiers were also in the Nazi-Ustasha German-Croatian "Legion" units, such as the 369th, 373rd, andÝ392nd Infantry Divisions. In The Holocaust: The Fate of European Jewry, 1932-1945, Leni Yahil remarked that the Bosnian Muslims even sent their soldiers to fight on the Russian front as part of the Nazi German forces:Ý "One of their units later joined the German forces fighting in Russia." The 369th Reinforced Croat Infantry Regiment, made up of Croats and Bosnian Muslims, fought at Stalingrad where it was destroyed. The NDH also sent the Italian-Croat Legion, attached to the Italian 3rd Mobile Division, to the Russian front where it was destroyed during the Don retreat.

Squirrel, why don't you set up your own blog, instead of chewing up bandwidth on Roberts, geez too me five minutes to scroll past your posts and I didn't even read them.

I see nothing but positives in this Jihad because someone, supposedly flushed the Qur'an (try that yourself, it defies the laws of physics, don't have a Qur'an then try any paperback or a set of gymn shoes. It's all b.s. and I wonder why the idjits of Newsday didn't figure that out.

That aside, I see only a good thing, the more violent they get, the louder the noise, the sooner the rest of the somnulent denizens of the west will wake up and figure out that Islam is not a religion of peace and is incompatible with secular western democracy and the Universal Declaration of Human rights, what peeves me is Condi and Bush caving in.
