A truly bizarre story from the BBC, Toddler acquitted of 'adultery'
A court in the northern Bangladeshi city of Bogra has acquitted a two-year-old child accused of adultery and theft, officials say. The infant appeared in court on his mother's lap to seek bail.Saiful Islam was accused along with six others in the case. The Magistrate expressed "surprise" at the charges, and immediately released him.
They also ordered the complainant in the case to explain why he was filing such charges against a toddler.
Magistrate Naveed Shafiullah also told local politician Yunus Ali - who launched a preliminary investigation into the case - to explain how the incident happened...
The case is not the first in Bangladesh to involve infant children facing serious charges.
In March, Bangladesh's High Court stepped in to halt the trial of four infants - all members of an extended family - who were accused of looting and causing criminal damage.
Four police officers were suspended for negligence in the case and an inquiry was ordered.
The infants, aged between three months to two years, appeared in court in their parents' arms, and were bailed.
Correspondents say that case highlighted the widespread practice of harassing people by filing false complaints.
Church and state are one in the same in this case. Both are corrupt. Why is this so hard to understand?

The complainant probably raped the toddler and he was just doing his duty under shari'a law to report the offense and to claim his own innocence by reason of licentious enticement on the part of the toddler. Of course we know that under shari'a law it is not possible for a child to entice a Muslim man until the child reaches the age of nine so it is right that the charges were dropped on this infant.
The infant is perhaps lucky that she does not live in Iran where they hang children for “acts incompatible with chastity”. The Iranians are not complete savage monsters as she probably would have been incarcerated until her ninth birthday. Then she would be hanged.
I actually think this story has little to do with Islam. It sounds like a tribal oddity.

It is starting to sound like a religion that Michael Jackson would be fond of.
I can hardly picture a three month old “looting” or even a two year old for that matter. What would a two year old threaten you with? A lolly pop?
This story may not be directly related to Islam bu this is surely no cultural oddity. Bengali culture is far too advanced to allow such stupidity. Indian Begalis don't do around accusing toddlers of rape. This case exemplifies what happens when societies become increasingly Islamic and phase out their own culture.
As if we needed more proof that Islam is completely out of control. Unbelieveable.

Islam is a degenerate culture which drains human decency and common sense out of the believers, who taught to follow the bloody Qur'an blindly can no longer think for themselves.
They don't do human decency or common sense. Only what the Qur'an says.
The defendants were quoted in the press, in reply to the charges:
"Goo-goo. Gaa-gaa."
(And this religion seems more 'gah-gah' every day!)
Western culture was at this stage in the early middle ages. The population often held animal trials - eg, if a bull gored Farmer Hulk, and was otherwise acting suspiciously, it could be put on trial for maliciously attacking the farmer - if he died, the charge was murder.
There was a famous case in France when a herd pigs was put on trial.
Children were tried also, hundreds were tortured during the witch trials.
This sounds like the same kind of mindset. Although the fact that the charges were dismissed is encouraging.
Are these accusers insane? What kind of court allows such charges even to be brought?
