Congresswoman Lois Capps was honored May 14 by the Central Coast Islamic Center of Santa Maria and the Central Coast chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.The groups held a round-table meeting with Capps to discuss social issues currently facing Muslims on the Central Coast and throughout the United States.
The conversation centered on post-Sept. 11 attitudes toward Muslims in America and concern over whether consequential acts of government, like the Patriot Act, infringe on civil liberties.
"What we request of you (Capps) is to enlighten the rest of Americans about Muslims, about Islam, about who we are and what we do," said Mohammed Diab, a participant in the meeting.
Nary a word, evidently, from Capps asking them to be more cooperative with anti-terror efforts.
We are acting like a naive girl on a blind date with a know rapist buying all the drinks hoping we will get home safe cause we respect him.
It doesn’t matter if you respect him he doesn’t respect you and only wants what he wants
There is something creepy and faintly of the Orwellian double-speak when Muslims talk like this:

Note the requirement that the Congresswoman prosletyses for Islam, to actively become an advocate for Islam. Do Jewish or Hindu groups in America make similar requests? And if America was told about 'what Muslims do', like preach hatred for America and the West, things would get very nasty.
No, this is a meeting taking place with the mentality of a conquerer instructing his dhimmi. The fatuous pomposity of this arrogant fantasising is hilarious, but indicative of deep disturbance.
All Capps had to say in reply was:
"What Americans of other beliefs wish to know -of Muslims in this country- is: do you support the Constitution and Bill of Rights above Sharia Law? We can see, from the daily reports in the press, what you radical co-religionists are showing of the 'nature of Islam' at its rawest. Do you repudiate their interpretation of the potentially violent dogmas of your 'holy' book, that call for jihad against all infidels, and how will you help defend the liberty and rights of all people in America against extremism, terrorism and intolerance by members of your creed?"
But, a response like that'll happen when Satan starts handing out ice skates.
Oh great.
