France holds 'jihad recruiters'

Two Misunderstanders of Islam held in France. Or maybe they were just recruiting for an inner spiritual struggle. From the BBC:

Police in France are holding two suspected Islamist militants believed to have helped send volunteer fighters to Iraq, French officials say.

One of them - 39-year-old Said al-Maghrebi - had been sought by police for months. He was detained in Montreuil, a Paris suburb.

The other suspect was arrested in Marseilles, while three others detained in the operation were later released.

Mr Maghrebi is reported to have trained with al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.

In January, 11 suspected Islamic militants were arrested in France, including Farid Benyettou, who police believe is a senior figure behind recruiting fighters for jihad - or holy war - in Iraq.
