But given frequent reports of mistreatment at the camp from released detainees, some Muslims remained convinced the desecration happened and U.S. officials pressured the magazine to deny the story....
Thousands also took to the streets in Somalia's capital of Mogadishu and the Palestinian territories, but the demonstrations were nothing on the scale of rioting in Afghanistan last week in which 15 people died and protesters threw rocks at police.
Riot police watched but did not stop some 500 protesters who shouted slogans against the United States and forced a traffic shutdown in the heart of the eastern Indian city of Calcutta.
The protest began at a mosque after Friday afternoon prayers conducted by the "imam" or chief priest, who then led demonstrators to the road.
"Death to America!" they cried as men spat on the flag.
They asked a boy in the crowd to urinate on it, and hit the flag with shoes and leather slippers. The 20-minute protest ended with the burning of two American flags.
Muslims are the largest minority in predominantly Hindu India, forming more than 12 percent of the 1 billion-plus population.
In the West Bank city of Nablus, some 2,500 Palestinian Hamas militants streamed out of mosques Friday chanting, "Death to America, death to Israel."
Muslim preacher Maher Haraz demanded that "America apologize to all Muslims worldwide, and punish those that trampled on the Quran and stuffed it in the toilet."

I don't think so, these fanatics are only isolating themselves, this does help separate the Muslim fanatics from the moderates. This will make it alot easier to isolate the fanatics, the moderates will be given a stronger base and the extremists will be destroyed.

Why highlight their Indian-ness? Being Indian has nothing to do with their motives for desecrating the US flag. I have seen Muslims do it all the time on the news in many, many parts of the world. It is their poisined Islamic mind which still think burning and evacuating on a flag are some great form of protest.
I wish I could post a picture here. I have a jpeg of some Hindu men burning a Qur'an and another group of Hinuds burning Osama bin Laden in effigy. Among their many willing accomplices was Jerusalem Mufti Haj Amin el-Husseini, who fled Palestine after agitating against the British during the Arab Revolt of 1936-39. He found refuge in Iraq – another British mandate – where he again topped the British most wanted list after helping pull the strings behind the Iraqi coup of 1941. The revolt in Baghdad was orchestrated by Hitler as part of a strategy to squeeze the region between the pincers of Rommel's troops in North Africa, German forces in the Caucuses and pro-Nazi forces in Iraq. However, in June 1941 British troops put down the rebellion and the Mufti escaped via Tehran to Italy and eventually to Berlin.
Once in Berlin, the Mufti received an enthusiastic reception by the "Islamische Zentralinstitut" and the whole Islamic community of Germany, which welcomed him as the "Führer of the Arabic world." In an introductory speech, he called the Jews the "most fierce enemies of the Muslims" and an "ever corruptive element" in the world.
Husseini soon became an honored guest of the Nazi leadership and met on several occasions with Hitler. He personally lobbied the Führer against the plan to let Jews leave Hungary, fearing they would immigrate to Palestine. During the Second World War in Yugoslavia, many Muslim clerics in Bosnia and Kosovo were willing accomplices in the genocide of the nation's Serbian, Jewish and Roma population. The Muslim will learn and adapt to/in the West first and then bring the global vision of a stable Islam to the ME.
This will be a mix of Sharia/democracy globally as the majority of people on Earth (Muslims) will demand it.
Everything thing else will have a lower priority.

The secret to power writing is to get as many profound points into as little space as possible. The human mind only has a short attention span, and will space out on a long disertation. You have valuable things to say, but a lot of them are being missed because readers cant hang in there that long. You notice that most posters who complain about you, complain mostly about "length", not so much content. Try to condense your profoundest statements into about one fourth (1/4) the space and you will reach more people...
