He is shown seated between two people wearing masks and pointing automatic weapons at him...
“Everybody knows the position of the Australian government in relation to hostage demands,” Howard told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation radio. “We can’t have the foreign policy of this country dictated by terrorists."
If this hostage were Canadian, Canada would negotiate. Canada does negotiate with terrorists. Way back in the 1970 October crisis Canada negotiated with the F.L.Q. terrorists. Instead of the terrorists receiving justice, many were sent to Cuba for exile at the expense of Canadian taxpayers.
I think the only thing we can do for this poor man is pray.
If Italy had had this sense, there would be one Italian secret agent still alive, and one communist "faux" hostage still being held in in "captivity", and $1 million (or so) fewer in the "insurgents'" murderous coffers.

Yes Waterdragon52 they were. Some of them continued to terrorize Anglophones and some campained for the yes side in the Quebec referendum.

The silence of the international community, i.e., France, the U.N. and the muslim world, demanding that Mr. Wood be accorded his full rights and protections under the Geneva Convention is deafening.
This man has been put under the permanent protection of Allah...which means he will be tortured and murdered...probably beheaded, because the fiends enjoy that sort of thing. But dont forget that Allah is all merciful, compassionate and oft forgiving...so as long as the beheaders shout Allahu Akbar while performing the act, Allah will forgive "them" of any wrong doing and show "them" his mercy and compassion...the "victim" gets to go straight to hell where Allah will personally torture him forever...May the real God rob Allah of his victim...
